Shock Mark (15) : Thunderstorms are common this time of year, but what’s not common is the number of people reported being struck by lightning. Strangely, people are surviving with only minor, if any, injuries at all. Being struck can feel like a static shock, or can feel like a sudden flash of heat, and targets are left with a strange lightning mark across their body. Though the marks will fade, for their duration–up to a full week after being struck, you might notice that you are more prone to static shocking yourself or others, and you may notice electronics charging or overcharging and malfunctioning. The marks can take longer to fade at player discretion, or players may choose for them to leave pale scars, but otherwise there are no lasting effects.

It had been an overcast but relatively nice evening for a stroll, or, in Hybris's case, a festival date with cat. His fur lined capelet made the dark mirror's shoulder particularly comfortable for Iolite to perch on, the bat of a playful paw enough to have him stopping to get this and that among the booths. All sorts of snacks, sparklies, and the occasional piece of just plain Weird made it into their bags and subspaces.

Taking a break at a nearby park bench, Hybris was admiring a dangly little star charm, teasing it just out of the Mauvian's reach when an ominous rumble was heard overhead.

"And it was such a nice night, too." Turning to Iolite, he began, "Do yo-"

And then he got hit by lightning. Which, while it didn't truly harm him, did not keep Hybris from falling over dramatically, his body hitting the ground like a ragdoll. Every particle of the boy was now committed to playing dead to his utmost.
