Radioactive Mysteries (13) : Destiny City has been booming, but with more people you need more power. Recently, an old power plant has been renovated and updated and just opened for business–but now people have been claiming dizziness or fatigue when in the area. Not to mention the animals. So far one shady, blurry video has been posted online of a strange bear-shaped humanoid ‘monster’ in the area. It’s difficult to tell if it’s a hoax or not, but whether or not you believe it, it might be a good idea to keep your eye out if you’re in the area. Especially because if you pass through, you feel like something’s watching you. It doesn’t have an aura so it can’t be a youma, but if you poke around too late at night you might find a strange creature that's built like a bear, covered in fur, but which has a strangely human presence. Something about it is just off--or, maybe it’s just your imagination. Maybe it’s just someone in a costume having a bit of fun at your expense. Still, its claws are sharp and it’s fast. When it runs through the forests, the trees seem to crack upon impact, and if you explore during the daytime you might find strange scratches and odd markings in the grass. The longer you’re in the area, the dizzier you get. Note: If you choose to encounter the strange creature, your character will recognize that it is not a youma. The creature seems smart enough to understand human words but does not respond and does not seem to listen. It will always disappear before it can be caught or gravely injured. This RP can be used as a battle requirement for a character, separate from your ‘one youma battle’ per stage if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered and interacting with another player’s powered character for it to count. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt.
Another night, another photoshoot while the good weather stuck around. Hela popped out of one of the mirrors she had hidden near one of the older power plants that seemed to be in disrepair. One day she would go exploring in there with her gear and camera but for whatever reason, the closer she got, the larger of a headache she would feel. This was especially true with the one that they had fixed up and reopened for business. Some people had said there was something weird living nearby, almost like a radioactive cryptid or something.
Tonight she was going to see if she could get a better picture of the thing to try and see if it was just a regular animal or someone in a costume. Ignoring the headache, she crept through the trees with her camera out, looking for the thing everyone had been talking about. Part of her hoped it was some half-baked hoax, she didn't really want to have to try dealing with a bear. The other thing that bothered her was how quiet the forest seemed to be, normally there would be at least some noise from the crickets and other insects.
Nearby there was a snap of a branch as if something had stepped on one. Reading her camera in the direction the sound had come from, she looked through the zoomed-in lens to see if she could find anything. There was some sort of shape but she couldn't make it out but now she could feel another dark mirror aura nearby. It felt a lot stronger than Hybris's had felt. Calling out cautiously, she crouched down a little just in case. "Hello?"

He'd felt the signature of a lesser dark mirror senshi, someone perhaps new, and Kiuchi being who he was had tracked the signature down with the intent of introducing himself and checking in with them. He didn't expect them to be here though, not with the rumors flying about this place.
Deciding he really did need to find this court member, incase they got themselves in trouble, he headed towards the signature while ignoring the slowly formking headache. Pulling his own panda plushie from subspace he held onto it, as his own nerves started to take hold of him. This place was creepy and he didn't like it, it felt like he was waiting for some jump scare at a movie. He did not like horror movies, of any sort, for this sort of reason among other reasons.
The sinking feeling in his stomach had him calling out when he heard a voice. "I'm here." And he was close now as he soon could see the senshi in question and made his way toward her quckly. The headache was now more than a little uncomfortable and unpleasent. He really should consider painkillers being put into subspace as well.

The shadowy form stood up and was moving closer to her, she could tell this was the other dark mirror senshi as they made their way over. Her head throbbed a bit more as she watched the area carefully. There had been another branch snapping but it didn't sound like it had come from the other senshi as they had moved closer. It sounded like it had come from closer to the power plant, where some of the trees were grouped thickly.
"Are you ok? You look like you're in a bit of pain? I know my head is killing me but I wanted to try and find that weird cryptid thing I've been hearing about. Oh, I'm Hela by the way." Tilting her head slightly to look at the senshi, she noticed the panda plush in his arms. "That's a cute stuffie." It was a bit weird to be carrying something like that around but she really couldn't judge given the fact she frequently swung her tripod at monsters and youma.
As soon as he had closed the last bit of distance and was right by her, a loud and deep growl shook the trees. "Uh Oh... that sounded like a grizzly. Do you guys get bears in the city?" Without hesitation, she pulled some things out of her subspace and carefully scanned the area with her camera. She wanted to get a good shot but also didn't want to get mauled by a bear. She had plenty of experience with them back home but with how weirdness flocked to the city, she couldn't be sure if it would react the same.

"Kiuchi, it's nice to meet you Hela." Nodding his head to the other, of course her head was killing her, something was going on with this place and Kiuchi didn't like it one bit. "Don't come out to places like this, not with those sorts of rumors going about, on your own. It's best to go with at least one more court member; to be safe." Or at least safer. He wasn't sure exactly how safe either of them were, considering the pai nand the dizziness he was suffering from. If something were to attack them he wasn't sure how well he could protect them. His magic would have to buy them time though.
"No, I've never heard of or seen a bear in this city." He answered as calmly as he could, he didn't like that growling sound one bit. If this was a bear they were screwed; he was sure of it.
"We should start putting distance between us and whatever that is." Unsure if it really was a bear, or something else. He didn't sense a youma but that didn't mean it wasn't something abnormal and never seen before. This was Destiny City and such things easily happened here, it was as common as breathing really.
"I don't think it's a bear though..." Trailing off as he looked towards the sound, which he heard again, along with a snapping sound that was loud and seemed to reveberate through the area. This wasn't good.

"Oh, thank you for the concern. I'm still a bit new to all this and really only know Hybris in the court so far. Oh and the prince that brought me in after I almost maced him." The sound of another branch snapping and a soft growl made her ears perk up as she listened carefully even while responding to the other senshi.
"Ok so..... not a grizzly but maybe grizzly-like. Ugh, more weird crap and I doubt bear spray will work against this. I just need a picture if I can get one safely but I'm not stupid enough to get closer." Nodding to Kiuchi, she carefully held the camera on her gimbal and stepped back as quietly as she could. Each growl sounded a bit closer. "I hope your magic stuff is more damaging than mine or Hybris's are."

"Hyrbis?" That was another dark mirror senshi he didn't know. Were they new or just someone he hadn't had a chance to meet? The idea of court members out there who he didn't know, and he knew there were plenty such members, bothered him as it always had. It bothered him nearly as much as someone leaving the court, because the court was his family, and it hurt knowing someone disliked the court enough that they decided to leave. Maybe he'd get to meet this Hybris senshi soon; for now he was going to get to know this one though.
"No, I don't think bear spray will either." He spoke, trying to keep his own calm, as he held the plush close to himself. Despite the plush in his arms, and how he really might not look so intimidating with it held to his lap, the senshi had earned his wings and there was a determination in his dark eyes. He could, and would, handle whatever came for them despite feeling suddenly dizzy. "It'll make it sick..." But more importantly he had magic that could protect them both against whatever was coming their way.
"You just better run. It'll no doubt not be pleased if I hit it with my magic." He really hoped he didn't need to use his magic, though he was prepared to do so if need be, because then they would have to run for the nearest mirror and get through before this thing could get them.

"Ah yea he is my friend, his whole thing is like doppelganger-like. It's elegant and dramatic but not really something to throw at a bear, I think. I make little dolls to affect someone so I'm not sure if that works on a bear either?" She got a picture as she stepped back and then slammed the button down to get at least a few more shots as the thing stood up. Her headache reached a high point as it growled loudly at them. "I think it's time to head out and uh quickly."
"I think there should be a mirror somewhere around here, I know I had one put up when I was snooping around so I could pop in and out as needed while I was trying to photograph this thing." Tugging the other senshi backward, she navigated toward where she thought the mirror might be. Unfortunately, the bear thing was gaining on them as they went.

"Little dolls?" She would need to explain that to him, he did want to understand her magic, he also felt like he needed to run into this Hybris so he could see about their magic as well. Really he also just honestly wanted to know all the members of his court - they were family after all.
"Wait, your dolls effect people - like voodoo dolls?" That was the only thing which popped into his head when he finally replayed her words in his head, and took that part in. That would be interesting if it was how her magic worked, because that could leave people open to a lot happening to them. But it seemed he'd have to ask her more later because the bear was not happy - very not happy.
As she yanked him back he stumbled, as dizziness hit him hard, nearly causing his knees to give. Cursing as he just managed to keep his feet under himself, only just, he turned round for a moment to look at the other. "I can use my magic on it and you run. I'll follow." Turning back towards the bear which was gianing on them both. He could slow it, he knew his magic would slow it, but once his magic wore off it would no doubt be pissed and come for him. They'd need to be fast if he used his magic.

"Yes, kinda sorta like voodoo dolls but they don't really look like them in the same type of way I guess?" Nodding to him before putting a steadying hand on him. "Oh gosh are you ok don't fall! I'm ready to run as soon as you're ready to do your thing."
Stepping back and getting ready to go, she waited for the signal from the tall senshi. They could get outta here and figure out the next step after. Seeing that there was actually a bear thing here meant that she would have to figure out a way to convince people to not come around. It would be hard to keep some of the other urban explorers or cryptid hunter-type people away though but she would do what she could. Maybe she could combine that draining thing she was supposed to do with her wraith with it. If people started getting tired from coming in the area they might leave as well so that could be a useful deterrent.

"That's good, that the doll doesn't look like one - that would be creepy." That would be very creepy infact.Shaking himself off, as much as he dared, he nodded his head. "I'll be fine." And he would be, especially once they were both out of this area, he didn't like it here and he didn't like the bear. This place wasn't safe in any way.
Once she was ready to run he readied himself and then shouted at her to get running. "Gorgon's assault." Sending out the green light of magic, as the bear got close to him, he waited to make sure his magic hit before he took off running. He wasn't about to stick around and see what happened as he ran from the bear. "Move!" Shouting for her to run faster, as fast as she could, he was not going to see either of them get caught by the bear. Even if he could use more magic and they could turtle and take the damage from the bear. He wasn't looking to do that.

He didn't need to tell her twice, she bolted as fast as she could over brush and roots alike as she made he way towards one of the mirrors she had hidden farther towards the edge of the tree line. The other's magic seemed to hit the bear but what it did to it, she couldn't tell. As soon as she made sure they were at least sort of running alongside her, she stopped looking back at the thing. She had gotten maybe one photo but to be honest she didn't quite want to stop and go over the camera until she was out of mauling range.
"Over this way!" She tilted her head towards a particularly large patch of brush and slid into it. The foliage parted easily where she had trimmed the extra branches and left just the loose leaves to cover the hiding spot. She waited just long enough for Kiuchi to catch up before she grabbed onto his hand and let him lead her through the mirror.

Running as fast as he could, glad for his long legs, the dark mirror senshi was never more happy to see a mirror than he was now. He'd never really had to run for it like this, never needed a mirror more in his life than now, and when the other dark mirror grabbed his hand he let her yank him right into mirrorspace.
As the mirror allowed them both passage into it's realm he took a moment to stand there catching his breath. "That was a lot, that wasn't good." Huffing and puffing as he leaned back against a white wall his head tipped backward. "I think that was a bear, it looked like it, but who knows." But he didn't like having to run from some wild animal especially when under the influence of whatever was going on at the power plant.
"This city is out to get us, more than mirrorspace is." He was certain of that., and if the city wasn't out to get them it was out to drive them all mad.
"You're safe?" He asked finally, looking over to the other. "No injuries?"

Hela didn't even register what he said and she looked around in confusion. This wasn't a place she recognized and it didn't feel like it was in the city. "Where.... are we? This doesn't look like any place I've seen before." Spinning in a bit of a circle she looked all around trying to figure out any sort of sense of where she was.
The lingering headache from the power plant wasn't helping so she slumped against the wall before sliding down to the floor. Some of the things he said resonated through her confusion though. "I really am starting to think this city is back asswards, sorry if that's offensive." The second part of his statement grounded her though. "Wait..... this is mirror space? I thought that I just kinda hop, skip, and jumped through mirrors like they were doors not like hallways. Is this that space between?"
Thinking about it made her a bit dizzy but she shook it off and checked herself over. "Yes I'm ok, I think. Can you take me home though? Or show me how to like leave this area? I really thing I need to sit on my bed and wrap my head around all this."

"We're in mirrorspace, that is to say that we are beyond the mirrors surface. So yes, you are right. This is the inbetween." Came the answer from Kiuchi, his dark eyes turning to the other. "It's never the same here either, so don't ever leave anything in here, things will move each time you come here." Which was why finding things you left here was impossible, it meant you couldn't live here, he'd thought of living in here once oh so long ago.
"No offence taken. This city is filled with magic, not just us and others like us, but it's own sort of magic. It seems to do things, various things, around the holidays and the star festival. It's all unpredictable and doesn't always follow a theme either." Though it did seem to there were also things which did not follow the theme that holiday season. It liked the keep everyone on their feet in a way.
Reaching a hand o ut towards her he smiled down at her. "You know where a mirror in your home is, so it's easy for you to travel through that mirror. I don't know where that mirror is so I can't get there, unless you took me with you. So we'll find you a mirror and you can get yourself home. If you have questions, or need me, you can always reach out for me. I work for Remarque so I'm easy enough to find." Since everyone knew their prince and most could find out where he worked.

"Oh, I'm not sure I like that. I'll make sure I keep everything with me so I don't lose anything." The idea of a shifting set of rooms was weird but maybe it made a bit of sense with how mirrors could be moved around all willy-nilly. Standing up to gather herself some more.
"Yea, that makes sense. If you can help me figure my way to a mirror in here I know where to go after that if it's the same as any other time I pop in and out. Did I end up here because you're more experienced in all this? I guess I mean that maybe once I figure more of this out I can come back if I want right?"
She'd look into stuff more once she got all settled after the excitement of the night. It was also really good to hear her concerns about all the weirdness coming from someone else's mouth. It didn't make things less weird but it helped reassure her that people noticed it and had opinions on it as well. She took his hand and shook it as firmly as she could. "I'll definitely reach out if anything weird comes up again. There's definitely a lot more going on that I need to figure out."
