Quote:
Shock Mark (15) : Thunderstorms are common this time of year, but what’s not common is the number of people reported being struck by lightning. Strangely, people are surviving with only minor, if any, injuries at all. Being struck can feel like a static shock, or can feel like a sudden flash of heat, and targets are left with a strange lightning mark across their body. Though the marks will fade, for their duration–up to a full week after being struck, you might notice that you are more prone to static shocking yourself or others, and you may notice electronics charging or overcharging and malfunctioning. The marks can take longer to fade at player discretion, or players may choose for them to leave pale scars, but otherwise there are no lasting effects.

Rain was something she didn’t like, especially not when in a car, and so EunKyung tended to walk during this time of year. Even if it meant having to carry an umbrella with her, and oftentimes use it, she would rather that than being inside a car, bus, or anything else similar. She couldn’t help the panic which hit every time, and she didn’t care to change that about herself, she had every right for it to bother her. She had survived a terrible accident which had claimed both her parents' lives; she’d never forget it.

She’d been hearing accounts on the news of people being hit by lightning, a lot of people, and surviving as if it were nothing. It was unusual and not something you'd ever think possible and yet it was happening, she’d even heard people talking about it while she’d been out shopping earlier in the day. One of the people in the small gathered group had been telling the others about how she’d been struck and knocked off her feet. Apparently she’d gotten right up though and was left with just a mark on her skin, like lighting. Had this been any other city, and any other time of the year, and she wouldn’t have believed it. But this was Destiny City and anything was possible…but most especially during a celebration.

If it weren’t for the fact that the small cafe she was going to, she wanted bubble tea, didn’t do delivery of any kind, EunKyung would not be going out. She didn’t care that people were surviving the lightning strikes - she didn’t want to be struck.

As she hurried down the wet, puddle ridden, sidewalk with her plastic cup of bubble tea in hand EunKyung was hoping to get home before it started to pour again. She’d left the apartment when the rain had stopped, to get herself a drink, but the thunder and lighting flashing in the sky told her the rain would come again soon; she was sure of it.

What she didn’t expect was when the next big flash happened that she felt the shock of lightning striking her, and it didn’t hurt much, and once it was over in mere seconds she felt the heat leaving her body. She had felt heat and a massive static shock and now…nothing.

Shaking herself, and dusting herself off, her eyes were wide as adrenalin was surging as her hands shook with each movement she made. Jerky and shaky in her movements, EunKyung ignored other people walking, no standing, around as some offered her help. She hurried off, as fast as her shaking legs could manage, as she hurried home. She’d need to call Sachio and let him know what happened, maybe he could come over, and her cousins. Her cousins would worry so much, as they always did with her, but she needed to talk and just…she wanted to cry as well and just…and she just needed to calm down and she couldn’t right now; she needed to get home first. But she was so scared and scattered emotionally. She wasn’t sure what she was feeling entirely, or what she wanted to feel, and she needed to get home faster.

Once she’d hurried herself the long distance home, it took nearly twenty minutes, EunKyung was inside the building in a flash and taking the elevator up to their floor. Her drink, by now, was gone and the cup thrown out. She really had enjoyed the drink but honestly she wasn’t sure if it had been worth it. The strike hadn’t left any damage, or pain even, but still….she’d been struck by lightning. Once she was inside the apartment the door was locked and her shoes were removed.

Time to text Sachio and tell him what had happened, then she’d tell her elder cousins.
