Rhidian looked down at the table and pursed her lips. The last time she'd gone to visit with her Uncle's family the little one had come home with a crude paint set that she was eager to share with her siblings. So far the paints themselves had been used and abused, but Rhidian wanted to go for a more 'uniform' look. Something nice.
So, she tried painting a mammu on a piece of thin mammu hide and it...was...something.

Rhiannon enjoyed the arts, especially after being stuck at home for a full week following the inn incident. It gave her something to do and while her twin was working with her crude paints, Rhiannon was also working with some feathers that she was trying to piece together on a mask with sticky sap for glue. It would harden and give the feathers a dangerous gleam that reminded her of sharp metal. "Mammu?" Rhiannon asked glancing over at her twin's art, her hands already covered in splotches of paint and sap both from where she had tried to paint some of the mask with various colors of squiggles to mimic the wind.

"Yeah, but it's not fat enough." Rhidian frowned and reached over for some of the red - yellow? It was red now after so much color mixing - and smeared it's belly to make the animal larger. Now instead of looking emaciated it looked as if it's abdomen had swelled. "Do you think if I give it to Far he won't be mad at us anymore?"

"Now it looks like it's about to give birth to baby mamu." Teased Rhiannon as she glanced over at the drawing. She saw several of their huntresses like that in recent years, the village's population truly growing after having settled in this little valley outside of the capital. "Maybe." She managed thoughtfully after a moment. "Though it may need more details, that means we are really sorry then. Right?" The more effort, the more they meant their apology...at least that was how Rhiannon reasoned with things. It was part of the reason she was reaching for some of the sparkly pebbles she had picked up while they were traveling so that she could add them to the edges of the mask. "If I finish this and you finish that....it might sway Far." He was pretty angry though...

Rhidian tilted her head to the side and made a little 'o' with her mouth. She hadn't been able to see it that way at first, but now it made sense! The hybrid gave into a giggle and settled back in her seat, heedless of the paint she was getting all over the furniture. "What if I made another Mammu, like a daddy one and a couple little ones? Then I could put some flowers over here, the mountain back there and maybe a river right around....Ugh...somewhere." Maybe in the back? "Do you think we went too far? At the inn?"

Rhiannon nodded, a small smile crossing her lips. "I think that would be great." She agreed as she listened to her twin's idea, kind of wishing she could have a family somehow incorporated into the mask. That wouldn't make sense though so she settled for trying to attached the sparkling rocks instead. Her hands did pause though, fingers holding onto a gemstone that was dripping sap as she pondered Rhidian's question. "Well, we did think that we were protecting others....it was just unfortunate they weren't actually demons." And Far was mostly angry because he heard about them being out in the middle of the storm, the Shifter having finally decided to fight the danger to make sure his daughters were safe at the inn. Admittedly probably coming back to your daughters chasing out foreigners and also being soaking wet because they were in said danger wasn't the best scenario for a father so maybe there was a reason he was pretty upset this time.

Rhidian nodded. If they HAD been real demons then they would be hailed as heroes instead of little troublemakers. She dipped her finger into the blue paint and ran it across the background for a rough outline of the river. "...It was really fun though." Even if she didn't raise her head Rhidian fought back a smile, just in case someone was watching and they DEFINITELY weren't supposed to be happy about it. Getting scolded hadn't felt good, especially when she realized how it worried Far, but...well, Rhidian might do it again in the future. "I didn't know demons could scream like that."

"Mmhmm." Rhiannon agreed, trying her best to not let her laughter escape even though soft giggles did eventually leave her lips. At least it wasn't super loud laughter that would get them in trouble since no one was that close save for Rhidian who also had enjoyed their shenanigans. "They were really loud. I think one may have needed fresh clothing afterwards." She teased quietly, the youngling dabbing another pebble into place. "Next time we should wear masks like this one. I should make a couple." She had a few cut-outs thankfully some merchant also had these for decorating when they picked up the painting set and Rhiannon had to try decorating a couple of them at least.

Rhidian bounced up a little in her seat and snorted. "I think he was so scared his hair turned white, Rhiannon. Did you see how pale he was when they were running away? He looked like Far!" The demon had COMPLETELY changed after getting spooked! If she didn't want to upset her father so much then Rhidian might have painted that in there too. "Oh oh, would you? We could wear some really pretty cloaks too, like the kind that shimmer, so they'll look like fire." Then they could really look like protective spirits...or in the case of others, devils.

Rhiannon raised a hand to her lips, stopping last second as she remembered the sap and promptly returned said hand to the table where she picked at another feather. "He did!" She agreed before smiling even more as her twin got excited at the idea of masks. "We could do that. I want one that looks almost black, but gleams indigo in the light." She mused with a grin. "Maybe we could get some of those bells that the shaman ladies use to chase out the spirits." She had seen some of the elders who believed in fortune and such dancing about with the bells every new years, chasing away the bad fortunes of the past and cleansing the village for the new year and good fortune.

"Oooo, that's going to look so pretty!" It would make her look like the moon goddess or some kind of mountain spirit. She couldn't let her Far know what they were going to use the masks for, especially not after the incident at the inn, but Rhidian couldn't wait to see how cool her sister was going to look in it. "Rhiannon...that is...just the BEST idea. We have to! And maybe some of the bones they toss to tell futures? I've been wanting to learn how to use them anyway. If we had little bones to leave around as we walk that'd be nifty." Maybe it was reaching a little too far, but Rhidian was just having fun at this point.

"Oooh, yes! Should we match or did you have inspiration in mind?" Asked Rhiannon with a gleam of excitement in her gaze. She loved planning things out with her twin, she had the best ideas and together they made everything so much more complex and amazing. Not that others would always agree, especially not the screaming foreigners, but Rhiannon totally thought it was great. "If we use the bones, maybe that could alert us to real dangers and keep us ahead of everyone else." They could see the future with them and also ask the bones about things like monsters and whatever else could be nearby!

"...Would it make you mad if we matched?" As much as she liked seeing her own ideas come into play Rhidian also like when the two of them matched. They already looked so much like one another that it felt odd to do things differently from her twin. "If you don't want to that's fine, but I think it would be neat." And then they could also pretend to just be one spirit that just moved really fast in the dark!
"Do you think this is what Far meant when he said we were supposed to sit still and think about what we did?"

Rhiannon tilted her head and then smiled. "I wouldn't mind." She answered honestly. They were born to look alike so why fight it? If anything it made things more interesting to have someone who she could mirror and that normally shared the same thoughts as she did. In a big family like their own, it was good backup to have so that their older siblings couldn't gang up on them. Silfi, however....she was a fun sister to have.
"I mean, we are thinking about what we did." Rhiannon commented with a smirk. "He didn't say what types of thoughts we should have about the incident though."

"That's true." So long as they weren't going out of their way to make things worse then Rhidian could rationalize it and find a way to make peace. She didn't want to PURPOSEFULLY go against her Far, but...Well, Rhiannon had a point. They WERE thinking on things. "I think that next time we should have back up plans and maybe another way to get inside." Because there would inevitably be a next time, even if they didn't outright plan for one. After all, it was just too much fun not to try again!
