Xariy 1
Xariy had visited with Eziya a few times given she had been the one to help her out with her pregnancy and the children, but she had never really considered getting to know her outside of that. She knew Eziya had a partner, Serr, but besides that she didn’t really know much about the woman. She’d initially figured it was none of her business to ask, but the two of them had gotten a bit close during all the hours they’d spent together, and frankly Xariy was looking to have another friend she could speak with. It was why she stood outside Eziya’s small clinic now, considering approaching the woman or not.

Eziya 1
Eziya heard someone hesitating outside of her door. She was used to worrying patients debating on coming inside, but she didn’t have anyone she’d planned on seeing. She figured if there was an emergency they would have come inside as well. Curious to see who it was, Eziya quietly peeked through a small side window she had and spotted the person in question. Xariy was an interesting woman, very confident in her movements and her actions. Now standing outside she didn’t seem quite so confident.

Xariy glanced in the direction of the voice, surprised when she saw the woman in question she had been thinking about. She felt a bit awkward now that she'd been caught and did what Eziya had suggested, opening the door to the clinic and wandering in.
"Hey there, Eziya. Nice to see you. How are things?" Oh that sounded incredibly awkward.

Eziya moved away from the window and over to where Xariy stood awkwardly, smiling at her as she beckoned her in further. It was surprising to see her visiting unannounced, however she didn’t mind it. The woman had been in her company a lot given the kids growing fast.
“Things are the usual. Fairly good if I do say so. Serr and I are running the clinic and such,” she explained, tilting her head at Xariy. “But what about you? Why are you here? If you don’t mind me asking.”

Xariy enjoyed how open Eziya was about everything. She was very sweet, and had treated her kindly the entire time they had interacted. It was one of the reasons she was here now trying to potentially spark a bit more friendship with her.
“Well, to be honest I came to see if you would like to visit. Perhaps hang out. I don’t have a whole lot of people I would consider friends around here, and so I wondered if you would be interested in establishing a friendship,” she explained, flinching slightly as she realized how much of a business proposal that sounded.

Eziya was surprised by the suggestion, chuckling as she listened to Xariy’s reason for why she had showed up so unexpectedly. It was a bit endearing in a way, and Eziya wasn’t really used to interacting with anyone besides Serr. Having a friend outside of her partner would be nice, and it would mean she could learn more about her!
“I would like that, I think. If you’re really sure. Obviously there’s the patient/practitioner confidentiality, but we can make sure to keep that separate!”

“I uh...had not that about that per se. Is it bad to be friends and also for you to technically be the one who cared for me? Is that a conflict of interest?” Now that she considered it Eziya had seen a lot of her given the circumstances. Maybe she felt awkward about it and was just trying to be nice. She seemed the sort to do that. “Maybe this was a bad idea?”

“Not a bad idea at all! There are instances of patients and caretakers being friends with each other. I see no issue in it. I just wanted to tell you that I would make sure none of that encroached on our friendship!” Eziya explained quickly, attempting to calm Xariy’s nerves. “But come, come. Sit down and we can talk more over tea.”

Xariy dutifully did as she was told, plopping down into the nearest chair and watching as Eziya bustled around her clinic. Eziya was always a wonder to her with her gentle nature but energetic movements. Despite her sweet demeanor she was always moving and bustling about. She was curious if the woman ever settled down.
“Thank you for allowing me to visit.”

Eziya huffed out a small laugh at Xariy, struggling slightly to pull down her cups from the highest shelf. Usually Serr was there to reach the tall things, but with a little bit of effort she managed to snatch two of them from their position.
“You don’t have to be so serious about it, you know. I’m not allowing you. You’re just welcome here.”

“Right, right. I’ll have to get used to that.” It was as if Xariy had never had a friend in her entire life. Which was….sort of true. Despite her overall confidence her bluntness had a habit of turning people off to being her friend. Kauff had really been the only one to appreciate her existence and well now they had two kids so that’s how that went. Eziya actually seemed to enjoy her presence despite her personality though.

“It’s okay to have friends. And not know what to say to them all the time. Sometimes it’s good to just sit in each other’s space,” Eziya explained, attempting to reassure the fidgety Oban woman. She understood her worries, but they were misguided. Eziya was happy to be her friend after all. It was nice knowing someone that also didn’t judge Serr’s quick hands. Even if he’d gotten a bit less grabby.

Xariy smiled at that, nodding in agreement. She didn’t need to speak to someone the entire time to enjoy just hanging out and she was glad that Eziya was in agreement on the matter. Though she was agreeable in general.
“Do you need help?” she asked curiously, watching the shorter woman struggle with her cups.

“No, no, I’m good. Totally fine. Wonderful!” Eziya said quickly, bringing the cups over to set down before rushing off once more for some tea. She was excited to have someone over that wasn’t there for business, but she’d never really entertained company before. Were there protocols? “So uh how has your day been?”

Could two women be even more awkward than the two of them were at this moment? Xariy wasn’t sure it was possible really. “Oh well, just been working around the house. Making sure all the kids are settled. Linne and Layn have been something for sure lately.” Xariy laughed, thinking of the rambunctious children.
