The Fireflies (6) : In the warm summer nights, little glowing lights begin to bob and dart through the city. Fireflies are mating, so this isn't uncommon in itself; in the past few days you've probably seen hundreds of fireflies. What makes these lights so unique is that they seem to change color; you might see a blue one, a green one, a red one. They flicker randomly, and something just seems off with them. If you come into contact with one, you will find yourself with a strange electric jolt. They cannot be caught, and will flicker away if you pursue too aggressively. This isn’t the first time they’ve appeared in Destiny City, but no one’s been able to tell where they came from or where they’re going. No matter how quickly you chase them, they always seem to disappear before you can find any answers.

It was rare when Eli didn't have his son with him or even his wife. Often times he was just bored, which prompted him to go patrol, but this time he decided to just lay back in their yard and watch the fireflies that came about year after year. He did notice that the bugs were changing colors, which was strange to him, but he chalked it to the fact that it could be some sort of harmless mutation. There were colors of the entire rainbow in the sky, and while someone else would be amazed at it, Eli could only look on with a look of pure boredom. "What was so magical about this s**t again?" He reached out to poke one, pulling back with a hiss and a low growl at the shock that was met with said touch. Now he really didn't want to be around the stupid bugs.

Still, Eli continued to lay where he was in the yard, almost seeming like he just couldn't move his body. The feeling disturbed him a bit but the fireflies were just so annoyingly there and he just....He couldn't be bothered to move. The fireflies twinkled and blinked, almost like they were laughing or something of the sort. Of course this was impossible, but it did cause a bit of a smirk to cross an otherwise impassive face. Eventually, he was able to get up and move around a bit, stretching his legs and arms while trying to be careful not to touch the bugs. He almost wished he could capture some in a jar for Colin, but every time he tried, the stupid bugs would just evade him.

So he settled for taking some pictures so he could show his son later.

Eventually, he was able to move, swatting at the fireflies as they flew around him. Maybe he should call Ryan and see if he wants to go energy gathering with him today. Of course he could just go on his own...With that thought, he took off for a "run" leaving Lily a note before leaving. He ran about four blocks, transforming in an alley. Now, how was he going to lure in his victims today? The corrupt leapt onto the roof, looking down at all the civilians coming and going about their night. Some were looking at fireflies, which he took into consideration. He could see if he could catch some one unawares in the park....? That seemed like the perfect plan to him. He found himself back in the park, grabbing what appeared to be some one no one would miss, draining his energy with a strange glint in his eye.

God this was always such a rush!

When the poor man stopped moving, he reached his hand into his chest, grinning when he started to pull out his starseed. It was beautiful really.

Too bad he would be claiming it for himself.

It was devoured within seconds.

Satisfied, Villon made sure to hide the body well, sighing since he would have to notify his cousin of his little "deed". He looked up at the sky, a small firefly hovering above him, apparently witnessing the entire thing. Too bad the poor thing couldn't talk, being a bug and all. Villon chuckled to himself, taking off into the night.

Perhaps he was starting to see what was so magical about everything after all.
