The Meteor Shower (3) : It wouldn’t be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. This time of year is unnaturally clear and it’s incredibly easy to see the stars. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be a whole rainbow of colors. The scientists have reported that it’s just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there’s something undeniably magical about it.
Kianna had been out all day practicing for track. Her parents thought she was crazy that during summer time she was still holding track meets. But in her mind, her team needed to practice and stay in shape no matter what time of year it was. Plus her team was a family and the thought of not seeing each one sounded awful. Each of her teammates were as dedicated as she was and she couldn't let them down. Kianna knew that no matter how hard it was, she had to keep pushing and stay focused. It was the only way to make sure her team was ready for the upcoming season.
Though being out on patrol today as Ametkhan, she was starting to regret that meetup today. Her legs were sore as could be no matter how magical she was, and she honestly wasn't sure which way to go. So she did the most logical thing she could think of and started looking for the best place to sit nearby.
It took her a little time but then she noticed a really comfy looking spot of grass. Once she found a nice spot, she just collapsed onto it, letting out a deep sigh of contentment. She closed her eyes for a moment, taking in the peace and quiet of the night, until she heard a noise that snapped her back to reality. "Hello is someone out there?" she asked to the sky still not really wanting to move from her comfy spot.

Silistra came forward and said "Yes I am here, I am Silistra squire of Saturn and who might you be?" Her question was very soft since was a very soft-spoken person. She didn't mean it as being rude or anything it was just the way she was. She looked up at the sky watching to see if the shower had started yet. She loved the night sky it gave her comfort. She felt strange in a strange world. She was part of an order though that she felt understood. Most in her order were a little dark and strange, so it didn't matter that she was too.
Ametkhan looked up from her comfy spot and smiled. "Well hello Silistra! I'm Ametkhan the senshi of crocodiles." It was nice to meet a squire for the first time. She definitely looked different from what she thought a squire would appear like. She admired her being able to wear all that clothing, since she knew if she wore anything too thick she could never do all the flexible movements she needed to.
She shook her head and stopped thinking about outfits. "What are you looking for?" she asked curiously as she watched Silistra look at the sky. "Is something about to happen?" She seemed to be searching for something in the sky. It was almost as if she was looking for a sign or a signal of some kind - as if she was expecting something to happen.

She nodded and pointed up to the sky. "Yes the meteor shower should be starting soon and it should be very pretty." She said as she saw the first meteor shoot across the sky." She had been waiting for this all night and she was excited to see it. She looked to the other figure on the roof as well. "See aren't they lovely." She said in a soft tone. "Nice to meet you." She sat down and looked up at the sky to just watch the shower peacefully she hoped that other other senshi wasn't too loud. She just wanted a peaceful time right now.
Ametkhan had never seen a meteor shower before so to hear that she was about to see one was truly spectacular. She was filled with a sense of awe, and for a moment, she forgot all her worries. She wanted to take everything in and enjoy the beauty of the night sky. She smiled as she watched the shower of meteors, feeling grateful for the moment of peace.
"They are amazing," she said as she watched the meteor shower not end but change to a whole rainbow of colors! It looked like the rainbow was raining from the sky. She couldn't believe she had been lucky enough to witness such a beautiful sight. She thanked the stars for the moment of respite and peace they had given her. "Wow those colors are amazing!" she said completely in awe. As she took a few moments to take in the beauty before her.

She nodded and sat quietly she didn't have much to say on the subject she knew the lights were pretty and she could only hope her silence wouldn't upset the other person. She would normally nod or make some sound of agreement. Still, she didn't want to chat she wanted to watch the pretty colors streak across the sky. She didn't have many friends and she wasn't sure how many would want a friend that wasn't chatty. Most seemed to want a person who would chat with others not someone just willing to listen.
Ametkhan did not mind the silence at all. Actually it was nice to have a little quiet, since she didn't get that much between home, practice, and patrolling. She found it calming to take a break from all the noise and activity. She was able to recharge and clear her head as she watched the show finish. "Well that was truly spectacular," she said with a smile as she stood up and stretched her arms and legs. The refreshing feeling she felt was wonderful. "Thank you for sharing this sight with me. And I know you might not need it but if you ever need a friend to watch another meteor show with here is my number." She said with a smile as she grabbed a piece of paper from her pocket, wrote her number down, and held it out in Silistra direction. They seemed really nice, so she figured why not try and make some new friends. She could always use more.

She laughed softly and said "It is for everyone it is not something I could keep to myself even if I tried which I would not try." She said softly. She looked up at the sky with the colors flashing across the sky. It was one of the major wonders of the festival and she loved it. She really didn't know why the festival was full of rainbows but it was pretty. So she was alright with it. Perhaps the universe supported a person's right to choose who they loved? She smiled it was a kind thought to think that was what the festival meant. Like a gift from the universe and since she knew there were forces that were not of this earth she wouldn't put it past Destiny City to accept love and celebrate it with rainbows. "So what were you doing out here tonight?" She asked softly "I'm not patrolling tonight I was just here for the meteors." She yawned she would likely go home soon for a cup of tea and get some sleep. She stayed out late so many nights that she was a little overwhelmed and needed some rest.
She knew she was probably right about that, but it still felt like this moment was unique to their newly formed friendship. "Well I was supposed to patrol, but somehow I ended up here. I guess my body decided I needed to relax," she said honestly. Thanks to this rest and this amazing sight her body seemed ready to go, or at least walk home and jump into bed. Since honestly at this point that was what she was ready to do. This patrol in her eyes was a success - friendship and a beautiful sky. She would love to have stayed and talked more, but she knew that her body needed to head home at least tonight.
She looked up at the sky in awe. "I'm glad I came here," she said, "this is the most incredible thing I've ever seen." She smiled and heard the yawn from her new friend. "Well looks like we both need some rest. So until next time!" she said with a grin and a wave as she headed towards home. She knew they could contact her anytime. She paused for a moment, then turned back and said "Remember, you can always reach me if you need me. I'll be here for you." With that, she waved one last time and began her journey home.
