Quote: The Meteor Shower (3) : It wouldn’t be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. This time of year is unnaturally clear and it’s incredibly easy to see the stars. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be a whole rainbow of colors. The scientists have reported that it’s just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there’s something undeniably magical about it. Autumn didn't normally eat fast food of any kind, but when the surprising opportunity to have a date with Lete presented itself, she simply couldn't let it pass. Delaying it to go home and try to cook something, especially when her parents would probably get suspicious, was simply unacceptable to her. She refused to force herself to spend less time with Lete over arbitrary rules. Not when she already got so little with bun. The whirlwind romance thus far had had her head spinning from day one, and she couldn't deny that Lete had totally swept herself off her feet. After buying the sandwiches, fries, and drinks, she hid herself in the alley and powered up into Demeter, leaping to the roof of the Arby's and gazing up into the sky. She hoped Lete would arrive soon.

Strictly speaking, Arby’s wasn’t exactly Lete’s most favorite place to eat in the entire world either—but see, she was trying very hard to learn some things about this magical girl stuff. Getting big bro Muri off her case did not seem to be A Thing that would ever happen, not entirely. Without anybody even asking him to be the resident meddling older brother to all the basic-level Mirror senshi, Murikabushi seemed hell-bent on earning that title through things like needling Lete about taking magical girl things more seriously (yawn), and telling her how his Mysterious And Powerful Negaverse Boyfriend thought she’d end up as cannon fodder if she wasn’t careful (snoozefest), and offering to give Lete self-defense lessons on his realm (tedious, insufferable, the most boring idea that Lete had ever heard in her life—especially since Murikabushi hadn’t ******** done anything with his realm; all he’d made with the magic crystals Mirrorspace gave them was some floating lights, a ******** rock, and a thicket of black roses).
All of which pertained to Arby’s because Lete had tried to use some learning when she’d picked the location. Not that she thought it entirely possible to avoid White Moon senshi other than Demeter (and possibly Urania, if she kept being cool). There were so many of them running around Destiny City, and apparently so few Dark Mirror senshi who could stand together against them.…… Still, though: Lete had started keeping track of the places where she’d had trouble with various White Moon weirdos before, and this particular Arby’s sat far enough away from all the places where she’d gotten into altercations. It seemed like a safe enough place to chill out for a while with the girl who so easily turned her into a babbling mess, like as not to accidentally smack herself in the face with a gardening implement.
After mirror-walking across town—the Court had a mirror stashed in an alley a few blocks away from the right spot, and this seemed like the safest way to get from home to Demeter—Lete powered back down into Gabi. She approached the Arby’s like that, as a civilian, more for safety’s sake than anything else. So many of Demeter’s cohorts among the White Moon were so unnecessarily aggro about Dark Mirror senshi just existing at them, or existing in the same general vicinity as them. ******** exhausting, all the way around. Better not to deal with them, then. Once she’d gotten there safely, she powered back up into Lete in the alley, then made her way to the roof, where she felt a White Moon aura waiting for her.
Spotting Demeter where she sat, Lete almost walked right into a door. A closed door, at that, which only made her dignity hurt even more profoundly. Probably, the door led right to a set of stairs, which employees probably used to come up here and make sure the sign stayed clean. But no matter—taking a deep breath, Lete reached into her subspace pocket, partially to deposit the sapphire star-charm she’d managed to find elsewhere and partly to retrieve the ziploc container of the strawberry-chocolate brownies she’d been working on.
Ugh, she really hoped that Demeter liked them.
“Hey, bonita,” Lete said softly, as she came up behind Demeter and then sat down. She grinned about as bright as the sign above them. “What’s a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?”

Demeter refused to begin eating until Lete showed. Not even a single fry, no sir! Though the temptation truly was great... She bit her lip, sternly telling herself to focus. It would be beyond rude to eat before Lete got there. Luckily, before her resolve could weaken, she felt the sudden presence of a Dark Mirror aura flare up from the alley and joy surged in her chest. She grinned widely, turning around to watch Lete walk up and give her a shy wave. "Waiting for you, bo—um, bonytuh," she said, stumbling over the word and blushing deeply. She rubbed at her face. "Sorry. Um. I, uh, got you roast beef? It seemed like the best choice." She thrust the bag at Lete, looking away and taking a sip of her Sprite. She noticed a star charm by her feet this time and picked it up, pocketing it with a happy little noise.
