Nature’s Boon (10) : Flowers are blooming at an incredible place across the city and sometimes barren patches of grass can be overrun with flowers overnight. There have been heavy showers and a high pollen count but there doesn’t appear to be any other explanation. It is not uncommon to find trees with nearly double the leaves they usually have, with vines twisting up houses, flowers covering the front yard, or local fruits to have doubled in size. This isn't the first time Destiny City has seen such oddities, and there doesn’t seem to be any negative effects to this; scientists are questioning climate change. Or is it radiation??

The past few days of little, intermittent shocks whenever she touched something was both amusing and a little irritating for Rhysi. But they did keep her focused on what she was learning. After a series of sleepless days and nights, she did finally get a few hours rest, but then she was back at the human library, consuming more of their history of advancements. In comparison to Velencya, Earth was still notably primitive.

But. Velencya, with all its progress, hasn't solved its greatest problem with a thousand years to do so. And its current hope was placed significantly with magic, rather than advancement. As regrettable as it may seem, it was possible that Rhysi's people had reached a plateau of sorts, whereas the humans of Earth seemed to be reaching highly impactful breakthroughs at an astonishing pace.

From this it can be seen that being behind in progress can stimulate a people, where being comfortably advanced, may in fact, stagnate progress. It would be up to her and the rest of the Vanguard to relearn need.

Learning the human history of its scientific developments may not improve her knowledge of chemistry, physics, and engineering. But Rhysi felt it may help her have a better flexibility of mind in regard to using that knowledge. She wanted new perspectives.

Building the so-called Leyden Jar and it's charging plate was a simple and happily inexpensive matter, solved in a few dumpster dives and the discovery of the 'junkyard' which Rhysi had found to be a...well a fantasy land of sorts. She was definitely going to have to go back there, and soon! Did the rest of Vanguard know about this place? She'd have to submit a report on it later.

There was no looming thunderstorm as she settled in her human glamour at a park picnic table. Which was a little disappointing but the amount of flora in this area was almost curious enough to distract her from her project. Almost. The surging plant life that nearly overwhelmed the picnic table did make it quite scenic though.

She'd probably have to submit a report on it too, another mysterious energy to measure and try to grasp. While Rhysi herself preferred less organics within her projects, it couldn't be denied that many of the vanguard loved flora to an almost obsessive degree. After a few moments of consideration, she decided to scan and record the plants. Likely useless to her, but maybe one of the others would appreciate it.

Eye shifting back to her Leyden Jar, Rhysi found herself sighing. Energy was the most primitive resource, a power inherent to existence. And yet it was the most constant focus of advancement. The most abundant resource that they always need more of.

Idly toying with the simplistic experiment, she smiled through a grimace as a suddenly shock of electricity was released. Letting go, Rhysi wondered if she could convince several other vanguard members to hold hands in a circle, to pass such a charge through all of them and back to the jar. She was sure some would enjoy it.

The future solutions found on Earth would, at the very least, be interesting.
