Izel 1
Since his parents and siblings were all busy he’d had no other choice but to hang out with his cousins. Not that he minded too much, but it would have been better if he’d have gotten one that wasn’t so quiet. Jiu was the one that talked the least, which made Izel feel awkward. There was too much silence to fill.

Jiu 1
He sat in his chair just staring at his cousin with a bit of awkwardness. He was family, yes, but Jiu really didn’t do much with his cousins. There was the occasional passing by. A wave or two. But all of his social interactions were with his own brothers. So he was at a loss as to what to do.

Izel 2
As they sat in silence for a while he started to fidget a bit. It was nerve wracking not knowing what to say or do. Even more so when he wasn’t exactly sure what Jiu liked. The boy was always quiet. Did he like to play in the ocean? Was the sand more his thing? Or did he prefer to stay up by the palm trees? Maybe the ranch was more his vibe?

Jiu 2
He instantly took note of his cousin’s fidgeting. Jiu wasn’t sure what it was for or what it meant. Unless the boy was just wanting to get up and walk or run around. He was more than welcome to. It wasn’t like there was a rule about not doing it. He and his brothers had done it plenty when they were little. Sometimes they still did.

Izel 3
A solid five minutes of fidgeting passed by before he started to look around at what all there was to do. No toys were laying around. Then again he figured their mom made them clean up. He knew his mom did. She didn’t want to trip over toys when she was home. He leaned forward to try and glance at a few other things, maybe find something that he and Jiu could do or play.

As Izel started to look around, Jiu simply watched him. He was content with the silence and so far it didn’t look like Izel was keen to break it. When he leaned forward Jiu only tilted his head to the side a small fraction before moving his eyes in the same direction that Izel was looking. Maybe he didn’t know what something was?

Izel 4
Despite him looking around and being awkward it didn’t look as though his cousin was overly concerned or even ready to speak to him. It really made Izel feel out of place. He was used to his sister talking all the time. Even his older brothers were more vocal than this. Though Jiu did seem to notice when he’d started looking at things. Maybe that was what he needed to do? Get up and look at things?

The silence continued and he remained in his seat. Though he did wonder what it was that his cousin was so interested in. Not enough to ask. Instead he leaned back in his chair and simply stayed as he was. It was nice to have the silence. He had a feeling his brothers would be back any second and it would be loud.

Izel 5
Thinking that perhaps if he got up and wandered around then Jiu would ask him something. Izel got up and started to look at things. Of course he was looking at stuff he already had seen before. It wasn’t his first time over to his cousin’s house. Every so often he’d glance back at Jiu to see if he was close to speaking.

He noticed when Izel got up but since the boy hadn’t asked him anything and didn’t seem to have anything to say he remained quiet. It was nice to enjoy. Of course he was a bit curious as to why his cousin was looking at things he’d seen before. It wasn’t like the fruit in the bowl on the table had magically changed to something from a different region.

Nothing. Even though he was up and walking around Jiu hadn’t asked him what he was up to. Finally he turned to look at his cousin. “Ahh! I can’t stand it!” He blurted out. “Do you wanna go play something?” He fidgeted yet again, scared that Jiu would reject the idea. He just wasn’t sure how the other boy could sit here and do nothing.

When Izel had an out burst he winced. Jiu hadn’t been expecting that. After blinking a few times he nodded his head. “We can.” Although if that was all his cousin wanted he could have just said so instead of being so loud.

“Oh thank the seas..” He let out a breath of relief. Izel was sure he’d have upset his quiet cousin. Knowing that he hadn’t the boy smiled. “Want to go to the beach? We can swim or make sand sculptures.” He was open to anything really. So long as he wasn’t just sitting around.

He once again nodded his head. “Beach sounds nice.” And it did. The breeze was almost always refreshing. And the idea of making something in the sand was nice. He slowly got up from his chair and looked around. Where had he put his bucket of things?

Yes! They were going to the beach. When he saw Jiu get up he felt some excitement. Of course then he started to look around and Izel got curious. “What ya looking for?” Was there something that Jiu wanted to take with them or did he need to leave a note? He usually left notes for his mother so she knew where he was going.
