Fav. Food: A perfectly grilled filet mignon, medium rare, wrapped in bacon and topped with herbed butter and bleu cheese crumbles. She makes this for herself frequently.

Occupation: 4th grade teacher at Knightside Elementary, in her second year of teaching.

Hobbies:
Cooking outdoors: Eddie is the Grillmaster. She can grill a steak to perfection no matter how you want it (except well-done, that's just ruining a nice cut of meat). Want a veggie burger? She'll grill you one of those too! Her grill setup in her tiny backyard is probably the most expensive thing she owns, part gas and part charcoal and all stainless steel with multi-tiered grills for grilling just about anything, from steak to corn on the cob. Eddie also grows her own herbs for seasoning her cooking, harvesting and drying them herself then grinding them up and concocting her own blends for various applications. She grows some for historical interest too, things she'd never put on food, just to see if she can do it.

Fursuiting: Yes, Eddie is a furry. Her fursona is a pale purple fox with darker purple markings and yellow accents and an enormous fluffy tail, cartoony and cute. She enjoys going to furry conventions and suiting out in public with other local furs; she actually feels like she's more herself in her fursuit sometimes than out of it. Her fursuit, a full body suit with head, paws, feet and tail, is the second most expensive thing she owns after her outdoor grill setup, and she takes fastidious care of it. She's even suited up for her classes on occasion, as well as for other school functions. The little kids just love her.

Virtues:
Bold as brass: Energetic and direct, Eddie is definitely an individual who stands out from the crowd. She's honest sometimes to a fault (see Flaws below), but her honesty is usually appreciated, even treasured by her friends and colleagues. Her thinking processes are logical and well organized, as they have to be to ride herd on 4th graders, and she is often called upon to assist other teachers with difficult topics or problem students. She's broken up fights between much bigger students, stepping right into the thick of it where other teachers and staff hesitated; she's a popular teacher because of her bold attitude and the kids listen to her without question for the most part.

I've got a cunning plan: Eddie is nothing if not quick-witted, resourceful, and smart. With a rich imagination and sharp observations, she can take advantage of most of the various opportunities that pop up in her life. Overall her disposition is shrewd, obstinate, and clever, which can often drive friends and colleagues crazy (especially the obstinate part). She's something of an enigma, cunning yet willing to work with others to bring her cunning plans to fruition. Her cleverness rarely backfires on her, and when it does, she just laughs it off in true Eddie fashion. (Her favorite cartoon character is Wile E. Coyote, because she analyzes where his plans go awry and tries to come up with a solution that works.)

Brave little toaster: It takes courage to survive in the world these days, and Eddie is brave enough to face any difficulty or danger that may come up in her life. Her childhood was fraught with danger, being an only child on the run with her mother from an abusive father; she still feels some of that fear and desperation, though now it bolsters her courage to be herself and live her life her way. There's a difference between bold and brave, and she's both, in a big way. Her courage shows up in how she lives her life, boldly and without fear; she's openly gay, out and proud, riding her motorcycle with the Dykes On Bikes contingent during Pride. There's very little in the world that she's afraid of in general.

Flaws:
Opportunistic and picky: Eddie has an opportunistic attitude about a lot of things. She's more than willing to take full advantage of a situation without a second thought, once she has made up her mind on something. When it comes to shopping, she haggles like a professional trader until she gets the deal she wants, usually because nothing else really measures up to her standards. She's very particular regarding what she spends her money on; she will use a thing until it breaks, and even then if she can fix it, she'll keep using it. Her wardrobe is largely second-hand and eclectic, and her kitchen is filled with vintage utensils and dishes she inherited from her grandmother – because they work, and they're not broken, and she's too picky to find a suitable replacement.

Blunt to an extreme: Never one to hold back, Eddie will verbalize everything she knows about a situation and say it without reserve when she has the chance to speak, which she will often take without asking first. She has a sharp tongue and no qualms about using it; she can often offend people with her words if she's not careful, or worse, angry. She has made no bones in the past of speaking bluntly with the parents of the kids in her class, which has gotten her in trouble with the school principal on numerous occasions. Sometimes she'll discuss a situation with other teachers, but most of the time she just says what's on her mind without filters. Her friends know she's sharp with her words sometimes and have come to the conclusion that she doesn't mean to hurt. Even though sometimes she does.

Cut myself no slack: No one is harder on Eddie than she herself is. She is a personal perfectionist; not only is she picky about her possessions, she's picky about her own performance and attitude and body and just about everything about herself. Being held to a ridiculously high standard as a child did her no favors as an adult, and she still holds herself to standards that others might find extreme. And when she fails to live up to those standards, she is brutally hard on herself, falling into a wallow of self-doubt and depression. She's talked about this with a number of therapists, but so far none have been able to give her a satisfactory solution to her issues.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Wide and almond-shaped, hazel-green in color, with long thick lashes and lightly arched dark blonde eyebrows.

Hair: Naturally a dirty wheat blonde that lightens toward the tips, Eddie wears her thick mostly straight hair long, just past the middle of her back.

Face: Oval in shape with somewhat apple cheeks and a slightly pointed chin; Eddie has a full-lipped mouth that naturally sports a slight smirk, and a straight, perfectly average nose. Both ears are pierced multiple times.

Skin Tone: Fair with a light tan.

Body Type: Eddie is of average height, around 5'5", and of average build, not overly curvy or busty but not a stick figure either. She has a lightly wiry muscle tone.

Clothes: When not working, Eddie dresses hippie-lesbian; she prefers oversized t-shirts with band logos or clever art on them, and baggy boy jeans that are loose and sometimes tattered and torn. She wears shorts when it gets too hot outside, usually shabby cutoffs. On her feet she'll usually wear sneakers or sandals in the summer. When it gets cold out, she layers up with big cozy sweaters and scarves and a beat-up old biker jacket she inherited from a dead friend. She dresses neatly and professionally for school, in nice jeans or slacks and a polo shirt with the school mascot on it, but once she's home, on come the schlubby clothes. Eddie likes jewelry, especially silver, and always wears a necklace of some kind, at least one, usually more.
