He’d managed to make the trip from Oba to Jauhar in a pretty decent amount of time. Base off the correspondence she’d had with his contact he would have plenty of time to get the goods he’d asked for. It had taken him a while to find someone who could transport the items he wanted for an acceptable price. Most of the others tried to price gouge him.

She stood at the crossroads that they had agreed upon for their meeting. It was literally at the edge of the market so it was public space. It also meant she wouldn’t draw unnecessary attention with her little crates. Granted there was nothing bad in them for once. It was a legit deal this time. But still, one could never be sure.

He’d agreed to come to the market with his sister to help her look for a few things. She’d started looking for a place to live and while she hadn’t settled on anything she expressed a wish to have the basics on hand for when she did. Their mama was busy with the tavern and their sister was training, so that left him to help out. With things going a bit smoother between them he wasn’t so moody with her.

She was thankful that her brother had decided to help her. And with little griping as well. So she was smiling as they walked toward the market. Her goal today was to find some nice blankets that she could easily take with her when she moved. If she found something else that would be useful then so be it. Of course she didn’t want to get too much just in case Ujiri didn’t want to carry too much.

When he noticed the woman at the crossroads where she said she’d be he smiled and lifted his left arm to wave at her. His janarim was to his right, as always, and simply keeping pace with him. He’d gotten better with not paying attention to the travelers around them so the beast was staring ahead. Lynx put a hand on the animal’s neck to show appreciation before he slowed him down before eventually stopping to greet his contact. “Hello. Are you Sarnai?”

She saw Lynx wave at her and returned it, though not quite so enthusiastically. When he was close enough to greet her verbally and ask her name she nodded at him. “That’s me. I take it you’re Lynx. The description was perfect.” Not many could describe themselves to a T and be accurate enough to point them out in a crowd.

As they got closer he took note of some people meeting before the actual market. He snorted. “You’d think people could keep their sales in the designated areas.” He commented off hand. Of course he was just being picky and his statement was directed at his sister. Mostly it just gave them something to talk about rather than the silence that was currently between them.

She glanced to the side, looking at her brother as he spoke, then looked at the people he’d mentioned. Not specifically but it would be hard not to know that that was who he was talking about. She shrugged her shoulders a little, not really caring too much that they had come to a less crowded spot to do business. “Its alright, its close to the market. Maybe the crates were too heavy?” There could be any number of reasons.

“Yeah.” He laughed. “I figured it’d be easy enough to look for silver hair on an Oban complexion.” He’d been hoping there wasn’t too many of those mixes around here. And it had paid off. He eagerly pointed to the crates at the girl’s feet. “Is that what I asked for?” His tone was very hopeful. If he’d managed to get the items then he could make the trip home without having to stop in every town and find the thing himself.

“You were right.” Shifter silver with Oban tan wasn’t super common. Plus he’d mentioned his hairstyle too. When he pointed to the crates she grinned at him. “Sure it. Wasn’t too hard to acquire either. I’m surprised by your letters. You said everyone was trying to charge you more than double for them.” She shook her head at the thought. While it had been tempting it wasn’t good for business.

As his sister seemed to think it was alright he narrowed his eyes at her but didn’t argue. He could see her point. Still, he huffed a bit at that and turned his attention away from her. However, the closer they got to the two doing business the more he realized he knew one of them. The shifter. He’d come across her before. “I know her..” He said before veering in her direction. A smirk was on his face as he approached, not caring if she was in the middle of something.

She barely had time to blink before her brother was off to join the two. Subira opened her mouth to say something but figured her stubborn brother wouldn’t listen either way so she sighed loudly before following after him. “Ujiri.. Wait. She seems busy.” Hopefully that would slow him down at least a little before he uninterrupted.

“Oh yeah, I had nothing less than double as the price.” He shook his head not at all pleased. Especially when he’d mentioned that he would meet the other party more than half way to pick up the crates. Since he was busy speaking with Sarnai he failed to notice the other two that were approaching, though he did notice that his Janarim was moving with a bit of nervousness.

“Unbelievable.” She couldn’t stand merchants sometimes. They really did take advantage of their clients. Granted she could too if she never wanted to get a good review or have repeat business. Since she was facing the other direction from Lynx, and she was well trained to be aware of her surroundings, she noticed the others getting closer. She took the chance to look in their direction and when she saw who one of them was she frowned a bit.

“Well, fancy seeing you here.” He called out to the shifter girl. “Long time no see.” He grinned at her with a bit of smuggness. Granted the last time they’d seen one another they weren’t on friendship terms. Though he didn’t think it had ended too badly. “Find someone else to mouth off to, did ya?” He chuckled.
