Rathian 1
They were in one of the small towns in Matori, for once not on the ranch and he wasn't sure why they were not on the ranch because the ranch and the water was the best part about Matori. Their parents were shopping with their older siblings scattered throughout to the four winds, they had stopped at a playground..and were currently being harrassed. He cracked his knuckles ready to through down to protect his sis.

Trying to avoid being pestered she moved around to be behind her twin brother. Ry heard Rath crack his knuckles and frowned at him a bit. While she knew her family would willingly throw down at any moment she tried to avoid it. "We can just go find Lynx and Iexa..." She told her sibling. The older brothers were the easiest to spot since they stuck out with their dark skin and silver hair.

He was a brawler, half of him liked it, half of him wished he didn't have to. He didn't go looking for trouble but he would deal with it. "I don't know how far away they are, if we run and they catch us without someone nearby what then? We loose the high ground maybe? Still end up the same." His siter for a miracle was sweet and shy and he would die before he let someone cloud that or pick on her like they used to Siofra his other sweet sister. He was also outnumbered, 3 to 1.5. "Can you see them?" If their bros were close by this would be over and done with one disparaging look.

Rath had a point. If they ran and got caught anyways then they were back at square one. Ryshanion really didn't want to do that. As her twin asked if she could see their older siblings she turned her head to look for them. As she scanned the crowd not so far away she frowned a bit more. No sign of those silver heads anywhere. "No.." Turning back to look at the other kids she shifted from one foot to the other a bit nervously. "What did we even do?"

"Well for one thing sis, we are much better looking." He eyed their accosters. Two water kids and a leaf water hybrid. "Sometimes, that is all it took" All were boys one a bit older than them, but the other two were a bit younger. He was calculating his chances and wasn't too fond of the answer. "If you can pick up a thing or two to throw...I'll keep myself between them and you." He was going to have to fight dirty like Mama taught him, not like Papa.

She scrunched up her nose as her brother's answer. "I doubt its because you look prettier than them." Though Ry didn't understand how people could really compare one another. It was different for her and Rath. They were twins. Comparing each other was common. Lynx and Iexa did the same thing, though she thought that was silly too since they were identical. As he told her to pick up a thing or two she looked around. All there was were a few rocks. Of course she had to wonder if her brother remembered that her aim sucked. Looking back at the other kids she huffed a bit. "Can't you just leave us alone?"

"We sister, WE look prettier than them.. and if not that then we look rich, much to their bedraggled sadness." He knew they didnt have more than what was appropriate for a youngling in a market but the kids looked hungry and mean. He could relate his brothers and most of the family got hangry easily enough. "Maybe they didn't get as much attention as we did?" They approached and pushing commenced. He was not worried about being surrounded. His job was to buy his sister time.

Rich? Ry looked down at her outfit. She was wearing one of the older ones that wasn't as flashy. Granted she and her brother were clean and well groomed, so maybe that was it? When the pushing started she moved back and did as she had been told. Ryshanion picked up a small handful of rocks to use as projectile weapons. Not that she really wanted to use them. "Leave us alone." She tried again to get the other kids to go away. When it didn't really get their attention she raised one rock like she was going to throw it. "I mean it.. go away."

It escalated quickly from there, he had a bit of pride so pushing his chest was a big ol red button. He wished this were not the case but since they refused to see reason.... He lunged and entered melee. There was hair pulling, punching biting and through it all he tried to keep all three of them occupied.

When the fighting really got underway Ry whimpered a little. She didn't like watching her twin get into scraps. Or any other sibling for that matter. "Stop it!" She cried out. When no one listened she finally decided to throw the rock she had raised up in warning. The first one actually hit one of the boys in the cheek. Encouraged by this she raised another one and sent it flying into the melee. This time her aim wasn't as great...

With a flat gonk, he saw stars. His sister's well intentioned rock had hit him instead of the target and he swayed on his feet. He felt a bit of blood on his scalp and idly thought before his eyes crossed that she had at least thrown it nice and hard, that deserved somepoints. He fell to his knees and was being kicked before he knew it. Thankfully they were not that strong. But still ribs were ribs and they hurt.

And there was the proof of her horrible aim! Ryshanion dropped the rest of the rocks the second she'd seen the one she'd thrown hit her brother in the head instead. Tears were instant. Her eyes watered and tears made their way down her cheeks. "Rathian!" She hiccupped after yelling for her twin. Both of her hands came up as she rubbed the tears away from her eyes, trying to control them. Sadly, Ry hated when her siblings got hurt, even more so if she was responsible for it. She continued to cry, feeling guilty, until her little thoughts came all the way back around to - she wouldn't have hit Rath if the other boys had simply left them alone. Lowering her hands from her face, still crying, she sniffled and huffed before screaming at the other kids. "It's all your fault! You made me hit my brother!" Along with her upset there was clearly a look of anger on her face as she decided to join the melee.

He was happy he didn't pass out but he couldn't do much while his mind recovered from the hard bonk. However he could hear her shouting behind them, funny, he had never seen her actually mad. Rathian inhaled and stood, looking around. Ry had joined the fray and he wasted no time in helping her and latched his mouth around on of the boy's legs in a vicious bite, that would learn him to bug them. They were not to be messed with.

Since she was so upset with the other kids she didn't pay too much attention to where she hit them. Ry's little fists swung with no real target other than their bodies. As a result the boys got socked in the eyes, nose, side of the head, and even the chest. "Go away!" She kept shouting at them. Ryshanion was more mindful of where her twin was this time and when she discovered he was biting one of the boys she shifted so that she was standing over him so that no one could kick him.

They must have looked quite interesting, but their fierce defense of each other and the third that had been struck had run. He could see their resolve start to change and started to make weird noises, hoping his sister who was currently preserving his ribs from further kicks would catch on and maybe they could just scare the others.
What he didn't see until it was too late for the boys was his older brother's Xaraan had heard the ruckus of those he thought as family and had charged away from his master to defend the chicks.
Azombu was a fierce xaraan having been given to Iexa as he was the only one brave (stupid) enough to train him and he did it preserving the wildness of the beast and engendering great loyalty in the process. With a his the Xaraan struck out and actually kicked one of the attacking boys quite a distance away.
From his position on his hands and knees Rath let go of the other boy who was streaking away the moment he was released.
Cooing the Xaraan brought his head down to nuzzle the kids and comfort them with the soft purring sounds and feathers as he gently wrapped a wing around the girl.
Rath now that the threat was gone was exhausted and he simply flattened on the ground puffing happily that they had won.
