It wouldn’t be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be pink, blue, and even purple in color. The scientists have reported that it’s just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there’s something undeniably magical about it.

When it came to the various annual events and happenings that occurred around Destiny City, Aogashima loved the star festival the most.

Admittedly, the name was somewhat misleading; it wasn't entirely about stars like the name would imply, as much as it was just an event to promote goodwill and positivity in general, something her sister would always remind her of. Deep in her heart, however, she liked to associate it with stars, because, well, because. It wasn't exactly Tanabata, which she hadn't celebrated formally in years since moving to the States from Japan, but deep in her heart, she liked to think of it as some sort of Western 'answer' to the holiday, even if the meaning was entirely divorced from the original concept. This was a time of year when the stars were more visible than ever, though, and also the time of year when a meteor shower occurred, something the Cosmos squire always looked forward to getting to watch. Naturally, the squire couldn't possibly bear to miss out on a once-a-year sort of event, and like clockwork, on the day it was predicted to happen, she had picked out a good spot to watch it from, on top of a big hill in a rural area on the outskirts of the city, a newly obtained opal star charm safely stowed away in her subspace pocket.

Some of the shooting stars occasionally were different colors from the usual yellow or white; Aogashima was sure that Hakodate would have some sort of scientific explanation for it, as usual, to explain away the phenomenon and spoil all the fun, even though by now they both were well aware that the things that happened in Destiny City leaned far beyond being able to be explained by science.

(Even if the news wanted them to believe otherwise.)

To the petite squire, however, it was simply a magical event that fascinated her to no end to watch, not necessitating the need for anyone to attempt to bring any sort of boring logic or science into the picture. It'd been awhile since she'd really sat down and doodled anything, at least outside of her art streams she had been doing lately now that she had picked up vtubing, and landscape drawing was more of her sister's forte, but Aogashima felt inspiration coming on... Now, whether she was going to simply draw the meteor shower, or whether she was going to come up with some sort of design, such as an outfit or something along those lines, inspired by the many colors of the shooting stars, was a little unclear so far, but perhaps she could combine the two, and doodle something to later use as inspiration for her vtuber persona? She never really made a lore video for herself, so perhaps she could incorporate the shooting stars as part of her backstory. It was a little too bad she hadn't brought any traditional art supplies with her, such as a sketchbook and colored pencils, but she had brought her tablet, so she could at least do a little bit of work until the battery ran out?

In the meantime, though, she wished this night would last forever... or at least that these were more common. She'd take the latter if it meant she could see sights like this every night. Perhaps, next time, she'd bring Rune or Val with her, to show them to her perfect sightseeing spot, even?
