[ The following continues from this promo. ]
The crowd erupted in to cheers as the ref entered the ring, with Nuke passing his microphone over and walking to a turnbuckle. He took a few seconds to remove his cloak and prepare for the match, stretching against the ropes and getting ready for the opening match of the King of the Canvas PPV.

Salem wasted no time as the referee slid into the ring to officiate, "Showtime" slipping off his shirt and tossing it into the crowd! His fists and wrists taped, Salem handed his microphone off to a ringside attendant and wiped his boots as he clutched the top rope, testing both the tension of the cable and grip of the Canvas! Fans clamoring for action, Salem approached Nuke with the referee standing off to the side, offering a fistbump as the bell rang! DING, DING, DING!

Nuke smiled and took the fist bump, as he moved to circle the ring, looking to find any advantage he can to begin with. As he circled, he wiped his forehead with the front of his wrist, and then nodded and stepped in to offer a tie-up.

The crowd clapped as Nuke and Salem circled like gunslingers from the Wild West, the "Nuclear God" offering his former protégé a tie-up that the "Nap Town Nightmare" would reciprocate!

The two legends came together with the tie-up, a match that had been years in the making. Nuke looks to immediately transition and get behind Salem, aiming to lock his arms around Salem's waist.

Nuke slipped in behind Salem with a deft duck-around, forcing Croft to try digging his thumbs down into the cinched waistlock and bridge his hips out, hoping to create separation!

Nuke feels pressure down on his wrists as Salem pushes down. Before it could be broken by force, Fusion lets go of the hold, and looks to swiftly move forward and get Salem in to a side headlock.
The mentor was looking to get the upper hand early and show Salem 'the ropes', perhaps testing him to see if he had been taught well all of these years.

Salem felt himself break loose from Nuke's grip, but the clever veteran wasn't easy to slip away from, who quickly applied a side headlock to maintain leverage and control over 'The Copperhead'! Knowing he was in trouble, Salem fought with Fusion's hands as he tried to employ some of his more technical game, digging in with his hips and feet and twisting to try and lift Nuke over with a side suplex!

Nuke is caught unawares by the quick suplex, and is sent to the mat.. but he manages to keep a hand on Salem's wrist and rolls with it, popping back up and coming in with a hard clothesline attempt!

The crowd was watching eagerly as Salem heated Nuke over his shoulders for the suplex, but the Human Reactor was craftier still, rolling through with a wristlock and pulling him in for a Clothesline! Thinking quickly, Salem tried to duck and shuffle past the lariat, concerned about the hold Nuke had on his arm!

The crowd get heated as the match begins at maximum speed, both men trying to get the better of the other, and no one coming out on top just yet. The clothesline may have missed, but the Uncrowned Champion has another idea.
He looks to maneuver in to a belly-to-back!

Salem felt Nuke go for the waistlock and subsequent suplex, only having the time to try and grab at Nuke's hands as he was lifted off his feet! Even still, as they went down together, "Showtime" managed to snag one of Nuke's wrists as he rolled through the maneuver, trying to pull the legend up and into a reciprocating elbow of his own!

The two veterans, although mentor and student, had been going at it full pace and the fans were absolutely loving it. With each move and reversal, they got another big pop from the crowd. This time Salem comes in with his own elbow which Nuke ducks under, looking to reverse in to a chicken wing hold!

Once again the wily veteran showed off his ring awareness, slipping under Salem's elbow and cinching in a chicken wing on Croft! Wincing with pain, "Showtime" used his free hand to try and reach for the ropes, though he was still near the center of the ring!
