“Hey.” She called out to her little brother to gain his attention. Lately she’d noticed the twins were still grumpy with her, not that she blamed them. It would take more than her just reappearing to fix things. Plus they had grown to be independent. She waited for Ujiri to acknowledge her before she spoke anymore.

He heard his older sister and glanced in her direction, mostly to see if he could figure out what it was she wanted. When there was no obvious sign of what it was she was after he hefted a sigh before turning his head to address her fully. “What is it?” He wasn’t her biggest fan but he could at least speak to her without having to have Ika nearby now.

“I was going to go visit Eurig. Did you want to tag along or have anything you wanted to send him?” Since she’d planned the trip to go see their other sibling she thought she’d ask if there was anything the rest of the family wanted to send with. Plus she wanted to make sure each of them knew where she was going so they didn’t freak out thinking she’d left again.

“Hm..” He thought about it before he shook his head. “I got nothing to send him.” Eurig had been gone a while and he was slightly mad at him for not visiting too. Ujiri liked having his family close so he knew they were safe and okay, but he didn’t tell them that. “Besides, are you really going to see him or is this an excuse to run off again?”

She winced when her brother asked if she was going to run off. Slowly the alk shook her head at him, a frown forming on her lips. “I’m not going anywhere. I just want to visit Euirg.” Since she’d been back he was the only one she hadn’t seen. Of course that wasn’t anyone’s fault. It just worked out that way.

“Uh huh.” He narrowed his eyes at her. He wasn’t sure how much of that he believed but he couldn’t deny that if one wanted to see their older brother then they had to travel to do it. So he sighed. “Whatever. Just bring me back something.” He waved her off thinking that would be the end of it.

Her frown stayed in place as she listened to him. “Ujiri.. I’m sorry I upset you so much when I left. I really am.” It seemed she still had a lot of repairing to do with her younger brother. “But I’m not leaving again. I just want to visit with Eurig and then I’ll be back.” The alk half pleaded with her brother to get him to understand. She didn’t think it was fair that he and Ika had gotten to see her and yet their other brother hadn’t.

“... Alright.” He couldn’t deny that seeing their brother would be nice. Ujiri wasn’t about to travel though. Not yet. He wanted to wait until Ujana came back to stay with Ariya. He worried about his mother being alone. “Just…” He fell silent after that, looking at the ground. Lately he’d been holding on to his anger but it was exhausting. He really wanted to be better.

She waited for him to finish his sentence but it seemed he was stuck on something or had thought better of it perhaps. So she cleared her throat and spoke gently. “Just what?” She asked him. Subira genuinely wanted to know what it was that was bothering her baby brother. If she could help him then she would.

“I just..” He struggled to find the words. “Just don’t leave again.” The last bit was said softer than the words before. Ujiri let out a breath and stared at the ground by his sister’s feet. “Its bad enough with Mom traveling. I don’t get to see her that much. Ika is doing her training…” So if Subira left again then he’d be lonely. He just didn’t want to say that out loud.

She tilted her head to the side, listening. Slowly her frown turned into a gentle smile. “I’m not going anywhere. I mean.. I have to travel to Tale to see Eurig but I am coming back.” Subira took a step forward to wrap her arms around her brother and pull him into a hug. “I have to come back. I’m looking for a place here in Jauhar.” Hopefully if he knew she was going to settle down nearby then he’d relax a little.

He allowed the hug, not protesting against it or even trying to escape like he would have a few weeks before. After the talk he’d had with his mother about Ujana and getting things out in the open he’d calmed down some. His issue was communication. So when Subira said she was going to find a place to live in Jauhar he leaned his head back to look at her. “Really?” His tone was skeptical but there was a trace of hope in it.

She nodded at his question. “Really.” Her smile grew wider after that. “I’ll let you help me decorate when I find a place. Hows that sound?” Subira didn’t mind so much if she had things in her home that were from her family or were meant to remind her of them. In fact she would likely welcome it. The alk released him from the hug so she could put her hands on his shoulders and move him back a bit to look at his face.

“Hm.. I’ll hold you to that.” If he got to decorate her house then he’d make it look awful. Just as a small act of revenge. He grinned at the thought before he ended up arching a brow as she looked at him. “What?” He scrunched up his nose at her.

“Oh nothing. I just have the cutest little brothers ever.” She knew both he and Euirg hated, or at least they used to, when she called them cute. Partly because she followed it with pinching their cheeks and treating them like they were breakable. One couldn’t really blame her though. She’d been taller than them when they were younger and it made them look like they could crumble if they were hit too hard.
