A little bit into the show, a much nicer area is shown backstage, with good ol' JR sitting in a very nice chair with another two chairs opposite him. They're in a very nice office, and the chairs are leather office chairs, with one bigger than the other. Within moments, the announcer is joined by the Syndicate, with Drako and a new arrival sitting opposite Jim Ross while Marcus and Blaze standing behind them. Ever the professional, JR elects to get the interview started.

"Thank you for your time, Mr Damone, and for agreeing to this sit down interview. I don't get to do these as often anymore."

Drako actually gives his normal smile. "It's not hard to set aside time to talk with the greatest announcer of all time. There's a lot of questions going around and if I'm going to give free reign to anyone to ask them, it's going to be Jim Ross. Feel free to ask what you need to."

JR clears his throat. "I suppose I should ask an obvious question here. We're here in your office in the backstage area. But would you mind introducing us to the man next to you."

Drako nods. "There are a lot of things going on with the Syndicate these days. As the World Heavyweight champion, I can't always take the time to directly guide my son and nephew. There's day to day matters to attend to that frankly are better suited to someone else. This here is Adrian Amaya, the new manager of the Syndicate. My right hand man, so to speak. On big nights like this one, there are matters that some would beg for my attention on. Adrian will be handling that business so that I can focus on remaining the World Heavyweight champion."

JR: Well that answers some things but brings up other questions. But if you don't mind, champ, let's get to the meat of the matter. Let's talk about a subject that may be less fun for you. Nuke Fusion. What happened?

Drako sighs, the smile gone. "What happened? I'm pretty sure you saw it. But I suppose you want more elaboration."

JR: You have been one of the most charismatic and beloved champions of the last several years. You had the fans on your side and if I may say so, I've known you a number of years. I know your family, and to be fair, I understand that you've never been afraid to get your hands bloody. But what provoked such a visceral reaction after the match?

Drako takes a moment before answering. "Let me ask you something, JR. Did you see the actual ending of that match? Nevermind what I did, for a moment. Did you see the way Nuke Fusion won that match?"

JR nods. "He got the roll up but in all fairness he used the ropes to get the win."

Drako nods in approval. "I'm glad you can be unbiased for a moment. Let's be clear, he cheated. So, I gave him what he deserved."

JR: That doesn't seem like an overreaction to you? Especially given how you defeated Hiro last week?

Drako smirks. "Hiro got what he asked for. See, JR, all of a sudden you guys think I'm the bad guy. I did Nuke Fusion so wrong. Let's just ignore that every other interaction a Damone has had with Nuke Fusion has resulted in similar. How many times over the years has Nuke Fusion jumped us? Remember back in XCW when he blindsided my sister, Janelle, leading into a title match she had with someone else just to get Jarel's attention? How about the times he's jumped me or Jarel? Did you think that history went away because he smiled for the camera and pandered to some fans, JR?"

JR: When you put it that way, I suppose not. But this seemed so extreme for you personally. If I'm honest, I would expect that more from your older brothers.

The champion doesn't disagree. "You're not wrong. And to be specific, it's more characteristic of Zarel. I'm not gonna deny that. But remember, they were first. I learned from both of them. I learned from Janelle too. They made sure they taught me from every aspect of their careers. Only Jarel held that moral high ground his entire career. But can I tell you something, JR?"

JR nods.

"Jarel had a dark side just like the rest of us. You've seen it. The difference is that normally he unleashed it on guys you liked a whole lot less. When he was making Cartwright famous by beating him bloody and setting him on fire, literally, you cheered him on because Cartwright was such a p***k. When he went at it here with the likes of Omen, well, Omen hung him from his own symbol, so the beating he gave him in response was vengeance in your eyes. Even Nuke Fusion. You cheered his return to go to war with Nuke because Nuke was the biggest p***k you'd ever laid eyes on. I know you remember, JR. But my oh my, how a decade of not being in the public eye makes you all forget how much you hated him. So now, when I do it, when leave him laying in a puddle of his own blood, I'm the bad guy?"

JR: Speaking of which, Nuke Fusion returned earlier tonight and stated that he really wanted any one of you here tonight but because you all have matches booked here tonight, he didn't get that chance. He admitted that your attack left him in the hospital with a concussion. Do you honestly have no remorse?

Drako shrugs. "I dunno, if there's a guy you don't like and never liked you, and he takes a swing at you, when you punch him in his smug p***k face, do you feel bad? No, JR, I don't have any damn remorse, and if Nuke wants some more where that came from, he can feel free to come get it. He wants to be the champ, well he's gonna have to work a little harder to get it, isn't he?"

JR: I suppose that is the feeling of management as you have a different opponent here tonight. One you're loosely connected to. Erynys Reich, the partner of who I assume is still your best friend, Salem. But at the same time, your boys there also face that same man and your best friend to crown the WWFG Tag team champions. I know your goal is to bring all the gold to the Syndicate but is there any hesitation given your relationships with the men involved?

Drako signals to Marcus to take this one.

"No, JR, there's no hesitation. This isn't personal, it's business. Salem Croft is now in our way, attempting to take what we want. So just like the Murder Hobos at Backlash, just like Power at Judgment Day, Salem is going to have to go down along with Erynys. It's very simple."

Adrian finally decides to speak up. "If I may, JR, I'd like to point out the very obvious flaw that will undo the Savage Sons here tonight. Behind me, you see Blaze, 6'10" tall and 295 pounds. Marcus, 6'8" tall and 285 pounds. Salem and Erynys have to somehow survive the power and the hunger of these two young men. They have to survive the Syndicate's type of savagery, and then Erynys has to immediately go back out to the ring and face the leader, the reigning world champion. There's no rest. There's no time out to catch his breath. To have to go from these behemoths battering him about the ring to then face the most dominant world heavyweight champion WWFG has had in a solid decade at least is madness. Not to mention Salem, who despite his best intentions, has a tendency to overwork himself because he can't focus on one singular goal. Does it seem like their odds of leaving here with gold are high?"

JR: Admittedly, there's an uphill battle. But while Marcus says this is just business, can you say the same of the men you're facing?

Drako signals to Adrian to take this question as well.

"No, we cannot, because we haven't discussed it with them. We've been busy with Syndicate matters. This is a full time business that extends beyond just what we do in the ring. There were deals to secure, contracts to sign, and training and planning to be done. Whether or not they take tonight personally is not our problem. Drako came here tonight to defend his title and with the goal of bringing the tag team gold to the Syndicate as well. We're going to secure the top spots again here tonight."

JR: I suppose I have to ask, why the Syndicate? Why not simply continue being known as the Damones or the Family?

Drako elects to answer this one. "Because Jarel and Zarel taught me something else. Take what they taught me and put my own spin on it. When they were here and in charge, we were the Damones, the Family, the Unholy Alliance. I have a slightly different viewpoint. We're a family organization. Jarel, Zarel and Janelle amassed power that of the three, I think only Janelle understood how to use. She taught me to make use everything at my disposal. She taught me that what we had with our names was power, not jus the money we demand. You can get a lot with money, but at the end of the day, true power comes from what you get people to do simply because you told them to do it. The name, the Syndicate, is an acknowledgement of this family organization, this family business, and should tell you how I'm going to run things. Because until the day that I can't do it anymore, I run it all. But I have news for you, JR, I have a whole lot more left in the tank."

JR: As opposed to your brother, Jarel, who we also heard from earlier tonight. Jarel is heading for a collision with Chrono, and he stated that there would be no involvement from his family. Given recent events, I have to ask if you intend to honor his intent.

Drako hadn't expected the question, but he was going to answer nonetheless. "Everything I've set into motion aside, let's be clear. If Jarel needed us to be involved, he would never have taken the match. Out of respect for all that my big brother built for us, the Syndicate will absolutely stay out of his affairs when it involves Chrono. We will do the one thing he asked of us, and that's help make sure he's in fighting shape. Because while we are stepping out onto our own path, we will never ignore out predecessors. I take a vested interest in watching and using that match, whenever it happens, as a teachable moment for my son as well as his. When legends, icons, of that nature finally collide, we would be irresponsible not to watch and take notes. But I'll say this, Jarel returning, even without being involved with us, is very good for business, JR. Very good."

JR: Well champ, I know you have matches tonight and I imagine you would like to take some time to prepare. Thank you for your time here tonight.

Drako nods. "Thank you for being yourself, JR. And don't worry, unlike the young ones, we know that attacking an announcer doesn't benefit us. I expected direct questions and I respect directness. Keep giving us that honesty on commentary. We're going to give you plenty to talk about here tonight."

The champion rises, with Adrian following, and heads out, with Marcus and Blaze bringing up the rear. The camera fades out as the show moves on to the next segment
