The Fairies (7) : The City has been lit up for the Star Festival with banners and twinkling decorations strewn off the windowsills of shop fronts and windows. The gardeners at one particular park have put their heart and soul into creating a fairy's paradise: Fairy lights have been carefully dangled from trees to make strings of stars, little beaded jewels have been hidden among the hedges, and even the old cobwebs have been sprayed with just a touch of glitter. The park is open to everyone and the citizens of Destiny City have been invited to respectfully explore the hidden wonders that have been placed throughout. The park is magical enough on its own but there have also been reports of a strange, ethereal and shimmering stranger in the park. The glimmer of a beautiful costumed figure fluttering through the park has been passed around as rumor, and no matter what anyone claims to see, no one can take a picture of it. As if simply seeing some magical figure isn’t mysterious enough, there are also reports of mischief and small pranks being played at the same time this figure seems to appear.
The city looked so beautiful lit up with lights for the Star Festival. The city was illuminated with colorful lights and paper lanterns, creating a magical atmosphere that made it look as though the stars had descended upon the city. Even the shop fronts had a magical glow about them. People were out in droves, admiring the decorations, taking pictures and enjoying themselves. It was a sight to behold.
Christabel however tried to keep her focus on her patrol. The bright lights made it very hard. Since they reminded her so much of Christmas, she wanted to enjoy the festive season. She daydreamed about all the fun she would have with her friends and family. That was until she found herself in front of a park, and not just any park. It looked like they had created a fairy's paradise: Fairy lights have been carefully dangled from trees to make strings of stars, intricate beaded jewels have been hidden among the hedges, and even the old cobwebs have been sprayed with just a touch of glitter.
"Wow this is beautiful!" she said aloud as she headed closer to the lights. She stepped into the enchanted garden, feeling like she had stepped through a looking glass. She felt like she had been transported to a different world - a world where fairies ruled.

The Star Festival was always an enjoyable time of year. The city and the volunteers truly went all out in their efforts. There were hundreds of people out and about enjoying the events and beautiful decor. In particular, the lights around parts of the city were always very holiday-esque with an extra touch of whimsy. In particular, there was the garden that tended to always be decked out to the nines.
While out on her patrol, Harmonia opts to swing by the garden. It was still early enough that the lights would still be lit, but unlikely too many souls were milling around anymore. While the garden was pretty during the day too, night-time was when it really shone and the senshi wasn't dismayed at all by the plethora of lights and the decor that caught the twinkling illuminations just right. Harmonia looked around in wonder. It was downright beautiful. She made a mental note to bring a book one night and truly loose herself in the atmosphere.
A voice full of awe and glee caught the young woman's attention. Especially since whoever it was seemed as enthralled with the area as her. She was curious though since it had very much sounded like a child but no one else responded. Curious, Harmonia peered around a tree and bush which had blocked her view to whoever it was and surprise glistened in her eyes as she saw the chibi. She'd not run into the younger members of their faction in quite a long time. It explained why the girl was alone though.
"It really is." Harmonia responded as she slipped through the brush to lean against the side of the tree closest to the chibi. "I almost wish they'd keep it up all year long." She smiled brightly at the young girl. "Is this your first time seeing it?"
Christabel was so enthralled with the decorations she didn't even hear the Senshi come through the bush. As soon as she heard them speak, she came face to face with what looked like an adult Senshi. She had beautiful blue and pink hair, and her outfit was the cutest thing she had ever seen. She was in awe of the way the fabric of the outfit flowed and moved. She hoped that when she was grown up, her outfit would be half as cute!
"I love your outfit and I definitely agree with you! I wish they would too. It reminds me of the Christmas spirit," she said with a smile as she looked above her head at the trees with glitter in their branches. She was sure this garden was bringing joy to so many people.
"Oh and yes it is! I had no idea they did things like this at the Star Festival. It's amazing. Have you seen this before?" She questioned before remembering she hadn't introduced herself. "Oh I'm Christabel by the way," she said as she extended her hand in their direction.

Harmonia smiled for the joy the young girl displayed. So much innocence and purity. She hoped the chibi managed to hold on to that. The war...well, it wasn't kind to anyone involved. Harmonia wasn't sure she'd have made it herself if she'd awaken any younger than 14.
"Thank you. Yours is adorable as well." All of the reds and greens complimented the girl's complexion. She looked like the walking epitome of the holiday times..
"I am Harmonia." She smiled.
"I try to make sure to come every year because I love it so much." She responded. "Have you heard about the rumors? Supposedly people have been seeing something here. No one has been able to take a picture of it, but there's enough whispers that some people are really convinced."
Christabel was so happy someone liked her outfit. She was always excited to hear that, since she loved her Christmas-based outfit so much it really reflected her personality.
"Well thank you so much, and it's nice to meet you Harmonia," she said sweetly. Her name was so pretty it took her attention away from the garden for a moment as she listened to her continue to speak.
"I see, that's a wonderful idea. Well I think I'll have to make sure I come every year too. The magical feeling here is unreal. I love it too," she said before listening to the words about the rumors. She couldn't believe that, but it then again it did look like a place where magic could exist so it could be possible.
Just the thought of that made her excited, that was until she felt something pull on her hair. "Oww," she said as she turned around and saw nothing but glittering dust in the sky. "What was that?" she asked still rubbing her head since it was a little sore after that pull from who knows where.

A shimmering form appeared behind Christabel right at the moment she exclaimed pain. It was so brief and quick, Harmonia wasn't sure she had seen it. "What' happened?" She questioned as she walked closer.
Then Christabel confirmed she saw something too. "What are the odds that I mention those rumors and something hap..ouch!" She reached behind her and rubbed at her own head where a curl had been pulled.
"I hope this isn't some sort of youma." Though...she had her doubts it could be. This all seemed innocent fun and, from what she heard, no one had been actually hurt in any real way.
Her eyes focused on Christabel. "What did you see?" She wanted to make sure they'd seen the same thing.
Christabel couldn't believe it herself. Just a mention of the rumors, and her hair gets pulled. It was all a strange coincidence for her. Just as she thought that she suddenly watched a shimmering form appear behind Harmonia. The shimmering character left a trail of dust behind her as she pulled Harmonia's hair too. Furthermore, the character disappeared like magic the moment they did.
With all of the clues at hand, she tried to think of what the character could be. Then it hit her - a fairy could do just that! All the magic and lights were here, as well as the glitter and lights of a land. It may have manifested a fairy to exist as a result. She knew it sounded crazy, but she had to tell her new friends. Not only that, the thought of a real fairy excited her!
"It is odd, and this might seem odd too. I don't think it was a youma, though. I think I saw a fairy," she said as she looked around her but the trail led nowhere. "I know it sounds crazy but I saw a trail of what I believe was fairy dust!" She added to her statement with a little bit of an excited smile showing.

Harmonia blinked at Christabel. "A fairy?" She wasn't as convinced, but...she sighed, it was Destiny City after all. If there was going to be anything remotely close to a fairy existing it would exist here she supposed. Her little Chibi friend seemed set on it.
"I guess it's possible." She said as she glanced around the area hoping to catching sight of that shimmer again.
"If you are a fairy..." She felt a bit foolish talking to thin air. "Can you maybe not pull on people's hair? It's no nice."
A moment passed. Another. And Harmonia caught a glimmer next to her left shoulder when something smacked into it. "Hey. That's not nice either." She rubbed at it staring at the location where the glimmer was fading.
The senshi had not come out here to deal with being picked on by a little mischievous creature. Whatever it was, fairy or not, it was sentiment enough. "What do you think?" She questioned Christabel, eyes sliding back to the chibi. "Think it's playing or wants us to leave? Maybe it'll listen to you if you talk to it?"
Christabel knew it was hard to believe, but in her head all the facts lined up. But this place alone was the final factor for her.
She listened to her speak, and nodded before speaking, "She is right. Pulling peoples hair is really mean, and it kind of hurts." She still felt a slight tingle on her own head after the pull. It was amazing what something so small could do.
She watched as the fairy once again attacked Harmonia. Leaving pain and fairy dust in its wake. She thought for a moment, and when she thought about it. Maybe the fairy just wanted to have a moment in her own fairy wonderland.
"You know I think they are telling us to leave, and while I hate to leave this beautiful place. Maybe we can come back some other time when they have had a chance to enjoy it hear. Would you like that fairy?" she said out loud as she looked at the area around them.
While she really did hate to leave, she didn't want to cause the fairy anymore trouble. That was when she felt something shove her back with a lot of force, as if to say leave.
"Well I think we have our answer," she said with a slight laugh and smile, "Alright alright we'll get going!" She finished her words hoping to tell the fairy that they didn't need to attack them anymore.

Har absently rubbed her assaulted shoulder as Christabel took up talking to their little fairy friend. Friends? Who knew if there were multiple of them here. There could be! For all the two senshi knew, they were standing within a a little clearing chock full of the sly creatures.
And, as if it were straight out of a fantasy book, it was the child who got the response from the little face beings. HArmonia couldn't help the small smile that slipped across her face at the thought. Should they clap as well to show they believed?
"Alright alright. We'll get going." She held up her hands in defeat as she glanced around, trying to catch another glimpse of them. But after giving Christabel a good push, they seemed to have vanished with the promise the two of them would leave.
"There's still time for the festival. So you can certainly come back again before it's all torn down." Harmonia agreed. "Hopefully, if we come back again, it won't be the same time that our uh, friends, are visiting too." In fairness, it was late and most people were not visiting the garden at that hour. It was likely the fairies time to themselves.
"Just be nicer to anyone who happens to come here, ok?" Harmonia called as she began to walk away with Christabel.
With a sigh she shook her head and chuckled. "Only here in destiny city would someone find fairies."
