Angelica had invited Vilenius out for a friendly patrol, and possibly a spar. She had made it more of a come visit me request and he had managed to respond with a flat yes which…she took as a win.
He obviously didn’t get out much…or talk much or…people much and that was fine. Angelica could work with that. She waited for him to arrive, kicking her feet as she sat on a swing, and glanced up when she felt the aura of another Senshi come into the area.
Perfect.
Hopping off of the swing, Angelica made her way over and upon seeing that it was her patrol buddy, she grinned. “Hey you. I was thinking maybe we could try each other’s magic out? I mean, I never really even got what you are the Senshi of, I guess it got lost in the introduction.”
Or he simply hadn’t wanted to share…whatever.
“I know I rely on my magic as the first punch when I’m attacking. It really stops people in their tracks, but if you’d rather just chill and chat, I’m good for that too.”

Vilenius did not want friends. Or, at least, he was pretty sure he didn’t want friends. Now that he’d had some time to think about it, he realized that he didn’t know enough about Earth relationship and societal expectations to think he could manage juggling that.
And yet, he had still shown up.
When he arrived, he seemed like he was sulking. His hair was styled just slightly differently than usual but without much care. He had a dark bruise on his cheek that he might have been trying to draw attention away from but he hadn’t put in enough effort to be successful, so maybe he’d given up.
“Why do you want to see my magic? You’ll just be miserable.”
Although, he didn’t seem to be protesting, and contemplated only briefly. “Mine doesn’t always work anymore. Something could go wrong. You might drown. I’ll do it,” he added, just to be transparent. “But you should hold your breath if you want to see.”

“I don’t care if I’m miserable…the drowning could be an issue, but I’ll hold my breath. I do want to see, really badly!”
Angelica grinned and drew in a deep breath, giving the other Senshi two thumbs up to show that she was ready, drowning or not. She was ready.
Come to think of it…she should ask for his name…and he still hadn’t told her what he was the Senshi of...but maybe when they showed off magic he would be a bit more open with her…hopefully, at least.

Though Vilenius seemed to ponder this for a few seconds more, eventually he just shrugged. “Okay.”
Who was he to argue if she wanted to deal with the melancholy of his magic? She was really enthusiastic about fighting, maybe on her world it was something they did for fun.
She was doing something weird with her hand–a battle taunt? She was smiling. That was universally ‘good’ at least. “Good luck,” he offered, because his magic was about as known to her as it was himself, these days.
As he casted his magic, he held his own breath, just in case his magic decided to drench him, too.
Quote: Vilenius summons his attack and every enemy nearby will feel as though a cold rainshower has begun to fall. As the illusionary water begins to seep into their clothes, they will feel a dreary melancholy overcome them. The water clings to them, making them feel heavy and alone; though the rain is light, for the duration of the magic the air will feel cold and everyone within radius will hear the soft sound of falling rain. The magic does not cause physical damage but can be disorienting and emotionally draining. The magic lasts for thirty seconds and has three uses. It affects all enemies within a ten foot radius of Vilenius and the magic will follow him if he moves, but the effects end if the character moves out of radius. Players can choose to remain drenched or the water can magically disappear.

As the magic hit her, Angelica was pleased to see that it didn’t seem to want to drown her, in fact it was nothing more than a nice rain and she drew in a breath, pleased that she didn’t have to hold it any longer but.
Oh.
As her clothes grew damp, her mood sank and she looked at the Senshi with eyes that were growing misty, and she hoped it was only due to the rain. “...What are you the Senshi of? And what’s your name? You…you haven’t told me and…”
Oh. s**t. Was she crying? No. No, that had to just be the rain on her cheeks…but, regardless she tried to wipe it away and figured that maybe…
Maybe she could get him back for this or..
“Spruce…Spruce Smoke Surprise.” Angelica flung her magic at the other Senshi and finally just broke down, wailing as everything simply felt awful

It hadn’t occurred to Vilenius to introduce himself. He supposed that, yes, even on his world that would have been the societal standard, but–
Then again, he hadn’t talked to anyone in a very, very long time.
His own mood sank, but he didn’t know if that was because of the magic misfiring or because he was drifting too close to a dark train of thought.
He might have answered Angelica if the overpowering smell of something invaded his nose and mouth with such intensity that he gagged and nearly threw up. He fanned his hand in front of his face but it did little to dispel the horrible smell and he turned away from Angelica to jog a few feet away as he tried to escape the cloud.
What was she the Senshi of, again? Toxic fumes? Disgusting smells? Olfactory assault?
He gagged again.

As the magic rain faded, Angelica sniffled and wiped her eyes again, feeling a little bit better as the seconds wore on and she even managed a watery chuckle as she watched him with her own magic and after wiping her eyes again, she stumbled a few steps forward. “It’s lethal…I love it. It’s how I always start my fights with Chaos and you can see that...it normally works out well for me…are you okay?”
She did actually care. She didn’t want him to go against her just because she had magic that irritated him. “I…I mean. Yours. What are you the Senshi of? That was…I haven’t felt that bad since I was a kid…”
Since she was kicked out of her home for her sexual preferences but. That wasn’t something that he needed to really know. Still. It was the truth.

By the time she asked if he was okay, Vilenius was already trying to spit the flavor out of his mouth. He waved his hand dismissively, as if he was trying to say that he was fine, but the look on his face was easily translated to pure disgust and annoyance.
Finally, when the worst of it had faded, he said, “Melancholy.”
He didn’t seem fond of his sphere. A dismal tone had overtaken him and he seemed a bit sullen at having to answer as much but he didn’t see any reason to lie about it.
“I can see,” he spat again, “Why that would start fights. I hate it.”

“Yeah! It can finish some fights too. Once, I got it right in a Chaos girl’s mouth. Oh my god she was not okay. Do…you wanna just chill? Can I teach you how to swing maybe? Something fun you can do here on Earth.”
She wasn’t sure if he had found anything fun to do, but…they had seen what one another could do…and that was helpful, and at least she had a sphere to go on and…Melancholy was kind of badass, honestly. “I can see that now. Your magic is super powerful. I don’t envy anyone who has to cross paths with the two of us. We’ll leave them breathless and crying.”
As it should be. Chaos should always be breathless and crying.

Swing? What was he supposed to–
“Swing?” He swung his first in the air while squinting at her, because obviously he knew how to swing? Or did she want him to swing his hair at her? He was tempted to grab that and swing it in a circle until he hit her, just to teach her a lesson for using her smoke on him.
The audacity! He didn’t even want to know what her magic did! And now he couldn’t get the taste or smell out of his mouth!
He couldn’t be too mad, he supposed. She was praising his magic. Which was powerful, when it wanted to work. He was offering it no praise presently, however. He’d been drenched too many times to appreciate it right now.
“I don’t understand half the things you say. But, fine. Although, I think you should get me something to eat first. I will throw up if I can’t get this taste out of my mouth. I will throw up on you,” he clarified, because if he was going to have to give up his dinner, he was going to do it spitefully.

Angelica laughed and nodded letting her powered form fade and standing there as plain Indiana. “All right, all right. Food first, and then swinging lessons, not like punching but…oh, you’ll see. Come on! I know a great place that’s got good food and you’ll be able to get the spruce out no problem!” Indy began walking, not turning to see if he was going to power down too…hopefully he would since being blue was a dead giveaway of…un-normalness…but.
Still.
She liked this guy. Mr. Melancholy. They could be good friends, at least she hoped so, and would work towards it.
