Saffron had found herself wanting to patrol as Iðavöllr less and and less as the months grew warmer, although that was hardly surprising given that her outfit was something that wouldn't have looked out of place in Frozen.

But then again it had been a while since she had last been out on patrol, a series of events seeming to have cropped up one after the other all of which had necessitated her having to be out of town.

She had wrapped up the last of the events recently however and was looking forward to a bit of time off before taking on the next piece of work for her company, especially with her cousin back in town.

But given that her cousin had only gotten back a couple of days ago and was still jetlagged, it had seemed best to leave him to get some rest before the two of them caught up–

Which was how she had come to find herself out and about as Iðavöllr.

She'd compromised however, waiting until early evening and keeping to the park so that she could make the most of the shade afforded by the trees.

It appeared to be shaping up to be a quiet evening, at least until Iðavöllr picked up on the flare of aura.

It seemed warm, however, not like that time when she and Liryn had gone out together last year and she had come across that corrupted senshi that had made her feel on edge–

Which was likely just as well, given that Iðavöllr was out on her own.

It was a quiet evening indeed, as Spei leapt from the roof of one building to another on patrol. He could feel very little in the way of Chaos activity, which suited him just fine – after that business with the bank and testing out his shield's magic, he was ready for things to settle down. It was only a matter of time, though, before something happened again. At least he knew he was fairly ready this time. You don't go up against a Negaverse General, let alone two of them, without learning a few things.

He decided to go check out the park, just in case. One never knew with Chaos. Setting off at a run, he parkour'd his way across the rooftops and down to the streets below as he approached the big park in the middle of town. It was a favorite place for those of the powered persuasion to congregate, as the trees and shadows provided great cover from prying eyes. Though on an evening like this, he really didn't expect to encounter anyone.

As soon as Spei arrived at the park, though, he picked up an aura. Immediately he tensed, going on the defensive – then he reevaluated the sensation of the aura. It didn't feel like a corrupted Senshi or a Negaverse agent (now that he knew what those felt like); it felt pleasant, which could only mean that whomever it might be was on the side of Order.

Moving through the trees slowly, the Moon Squire called out a soft "Hello?" He hoped it was enough to get the attention of whomever it was.

Iðavöllr hadn't been sure whether she should try and attempt to try and track down the source of the other aura, but a part of her had been leaning towards a 'maybe yes'.

After all the evening was quiet, and whilst the aura felt stronger than her own, the warmth of the aura had felt encouraging.

But whilst she was better at sensing auras thanks to Liryn's lessons, Iðavöllr hadn't really had much experience in actually trying to track down an aura–

And Liryn had mentioned that there was no exact science to auras.

It seemed that perhaps it was a moot point however as the aura seemed a lot closer than it had been, almost as if it was.. Moving?

Iðavöllr frowned slightly, brown eyes thoughtful as she took a few steps towards where she thought the aura might be, only to find herself correcting direction when it didn't seem quite right.

It was as she headed towards some of the trees that edged part of the park that she heard a voice, trying her best not to jump (or at least show that she had almost jumped), although it was hard to tell how successful she'd been - or if she'd actually heard a voice at all as it had been kind of quiet.

"Good Evening" she called back.

And whilst Iðavöllr wasn't sure for sure if she'd truly heard a voice, the aura that she was picking up on suggested that at least something was there–

Or at the least close to the point of almost being atop of her.

Spei heard the reply and triangulated where it was coming from. Their aura was definitely reading as Order, though of what flavor he couldn't say for certain. "Don't worry," he called out a little bit more confidently, "I'm a knight." That should hopefully put the other person a bit more at ease.

He picked his way through the trees toward the source of the aura, and finally spotted something moving slowly, cautiously – what looked like a flash of blue moving amongst the tree trunks. That must be who he was sensing.

Finally he saw them – her, to be more precise – through a slight clearing in the woods. "Hello there," he said, stepping out from the trees so she could see him, his hands spread in the universal sign of 'I mean you no harm.' He didn't want to frighten her off.

"My name is Spei, Squire of the Moon. Are you a knight as well, or a Senshi?"

Iðavöllr looked curiously at the approaching figure before lifting a hand up in a small wave, although she waited until the other was closer before speaking.

"I’m a knight as well" she said, before her lips quirked up in a wry smile "Well I guess that I’m a Page."

The smile shifted into a friendly one, "I’m Iðavöllr - Iðavöllr of Polaris." She hesitated for a moment and then asked "You wouldn’t happen to know of a Page called Serenitatis would you? She’s a moon knight too."

It was a long shot, after all Iðavöllr didn’t know many knights herself and certainly wouldn’t be able to name any Polaris knights if she’d been asked a similar question.

Then again she wouldn’t be able to name many people in common, because it wasn’t as if she had a lot of contacts - well at least not when powered up.

With a faint smile Spei sketched a bow. "Pleased to meet you, Iðavöllr. I've never met a Polaris Knight. Or Page, or Squire or anything," he said with a soft little snorting laugh. "I know only a few other Knights in general. A Pluto Knight named Richtersveld helped me a lot when I first awakened, though."

He looked over her uniform, noting the vast differences between hers and his. If there was one thing he didn't understand about this whole Knight business, it was how disparate and unaware they all were. Surely they'd all been contacted by the Code in one form or another, right? Why didn't the Code do more by way of explanation of other Knights, or try to unify them together in the same way the Senshi were?

"No, sadly, I don't know Serenitatis." Spei shook his head at the Page. "Hopefully she helped you make sense of all this."

"And you also Spei" Iðavöllr with another friendly smile of her own.

Her smile turned wry as she admitted "I don't know many knights either" she admitted.

In fact Iðavöllr was pretty sure that the amount of knights that she knew would likely fit on one hand, although she wasn't about to do something so depressing as to count and check - well at least not visibly.

Serenitatis was one of the few knights that she both knew and had had more than one conversation with, although two conversations wasn't so very much either–

But whilst it would have been nice if Spei had happened to know Serenitatis, Iðavöllr had already known that it was something of a long shot.

She shook her head at Spei's comment that he hoped that Serenitatis had been able to help her make sense of things.

"Actually I'm pretty sure that Serenitatis knew about as much as I do" she admitted, "But Liryn has helped me out and was kind enough to do something with my ring so that I wouldn't need to keep doing the ink-stamp thing."

It belatedly occurred to her that Spei probably had no idea who Liryn was so she added "Liryn is a mauvian."

One of Spei's eyebrows went up. "A Mauvian! I've only met one Mauvian, a little kitten named Darius Ammun. He's bonded to Eternal Senshi Etamin. Darius fixed up my ring too," he said, holding out his hand to show Iðavöllr his signet ring. "Pretty clever for just a kitten."

Spei had a million questions about Liryn, and about Mauvians in general. Somehow, though, he felt it would be rude to ask Iðavöllr if the Mauvian acted like a normal cat; Darius certainly didn't seem to, even though he was just a kitten. But that might not be the case across the board. Essentially, he wanted to make sure he could tell if a cat was a Mauvian if he happened across one on the streets.

He tilted his head at her. "Is Liryn bonded to you? I'd love to meet him someday."

Iðavöllr laughed, "Liryn’s a kitten too" she began and then paused to actually think about it, as she realised that in truth she had no idea just how old Liryn really was.

It wasn’t something that had come up in their interactions and whilst on the one hand he was certainly small enough to pass as an older kitten, he and her cousin seemed to have known each other for a while–

As in ‘a while’ of the years variety.

And it wasn’t as if small cats were something that was particularly uncommon.

There was also a fact that whilst Liryn seemed to spend most of his time as a cat, the small tabbly bobtailed mauvian also had a form that looked to be that of someone in their late teens or early twenties–

Well at least if she had to peg an age on it, and Iðavöllr would rather not.

"Well Liryn’s definitely on the small side for a cat" she settled on at last "Although I’m not sure if that means that he’s still a kitten or just small for a cat."

She shook her head slightly when Spei asked her whether Liryn was bonded to her "No, but I think he’s bonded to my cousin."

Again, it wasn’t a topic that she’d actually broached with either of them, but it would have been hard to miss just how close the pair were, even if Liryn did in some ways seem to be more of a polar opposite to her more reserved cousin.

Her lips quirked up in an amused smile "But I can set up a meeting if you really want to meet him, or rather my cousin can - but Athene won’t mind and Liryn likes meeting new people."
