(1/10) After her confrontation with her parents back in Orrod, Shalvesta had made it a point to steer as clear of Oba as she possibly could. Many of the jobs that had fattened her pockets over the years had been escort trips between Oba and Jauhar, because there would never be a shortage of people who needed an experienced guide to take them through the desert - but now it was... difficult to convince herself to go on that familiar, circuitous route.
Work in Jauhar was very different to the types of jobs she found in Oba. The cities there, overflowing with people, needed security, needed people like her with a sword and dead eyes, to scare people away and keep their establishments calm. In Jauhar, work veered more towards manual labor, or hunting ventures.
She'd need to go back soon to replenish her savings, she knew that, but for now... she rested among the Jauhar settlement of Kueta, finding some comfort in the familiar flow of earthlings of all shapes and sizes spilling through the streets. Shalvesta didn't feel so strange here, so... out of place.

(1/10) Aeuri found himself traveling toward Jauhar not long after returning home. It was mostly to pick up some animals for his father, and wouldn't take too long. But his mother still was upset and he wanted to make sure he got home as quickly as he could.
That being said, he still kept himself alert and focused. He knew from experience the importance of taking every job and every trip seriously.
As they approached and entered Kueta, it was decided the group would take a rest for the evening. The handlers took the creatures to a pen, and Aeuri was left on his own to determine where he would go. He looked lost amongst the crowd, his blonde hair stark against his dark skin as he looked out.

(2/10) Really, there was absolutely no reason for Shalvesta to stir from where she'd planted herself at the fringes of town. The group of travelers with a collection of beasts looked acquainted with the settlement, at least as much as Shalvesta herself. As a mercenary, she'd long learned the look of someone who needed directions or help, and these people clearly didn't fall into that category. However, when a lone member of the group reappeared a short time later, she revisited that idea.
He didn't look out of place here, as an Oban hybrid; and yet the flash of blonde hair still drew attention to him nonetheless.
The swordsman stood from where she'd been comfortably settled in the shade of one of the buildings, approaching with her chin raised. Friendly. Confident - but without the swagger that so many Obans still held themselves with, even now. "You know, after a long trip the first thing I usually look for is a good drink or meal. I can give you a few suggestions?"
It wasn't a unique pitch. Among Oban settlements, people preying on tourists or visitors were common, and such a question was met with an extended palm, ready to accept a tip of coin for their trouble. Shalvesta's instead hooked her metal-claw tipped fingers into her belt and tried her best to look inviting and friendly.
Coin would be nice, of course, but she wasn't quite so hard up she'd harass him for it. In all honesty, a bit of conversation wouldn't be remiss here either.
