Quote: Prompt 2: You're singing in the rain ♪♫♪ Just singing in the rain! ♪♫ The whole……incident with that Order senshi popping those wings and sending out rude-a** magical arrows all over everybody? Had really left a bad taste in Lete’s mouth. Like, how was it fair that those arrows had come for her and Hybris, too? Maybe they hadn’t actively helped anybody, but they hadn’t hurt anybody, either. All they’d done was gossip, and share popcorn, and then try to escape after that super-powerful General guy who Murikabushi had recognized summoned the youma from Wherever Youma Came From. They super hadn’t deserved getting hit with shiny princess magic.
All the rain going on recently hadn’t helped very much. Gathering energy for the Mirror from underneath playground equipment while the Mirrorwraiths did their work was fine and all……but it was so hard to find enough people when nobody wanted to come outside. Practically nobody to be seen at all in Ramsett Park tonight.… A few stray powered auras on Lete’s senses, but offhand, she didn’t think most of them felt that close. Good thing, too, because none of them felt particularly Chaotic, and Lete had no desire to deal with more Order senshi than absolutely necessary. Soooo sanctimonious. So very tedious. Them, and their Knights. All of them were, or at least the ones Lete had dealt with had been.
Still, there wasn’t much point in staying here without any people to drain. Maybe Lete would have better luck at a different park, somewhere closer to more apartments or the DCU campus, maybe. As much as she didn’t like the idea of going out in the rain, she’d need to find a mirror to make that happen. So, in order to keep her spirits up as she headed into the downpour, she did what any self-respecting theater kid would do and started singing: “You can touch, you can play, if you say I’m always yours. Oooh, whoa~ I’m a Barbie girl in a Barbie world~ Life in plastic, it’s fantastic……”

What was that sound? Was that some sort of spell?
Vilenius was already on edge because it was raining--and it wasn’t like he hadn’t seen rain before he’d just had more than enough of water falling around him. The moisture in the air was suffocating, and the water on his skin might as well have been fire. He didn’t know enough about Earth weather to trust that this water might not scald or melt him.
It was cold, and he hated that. He was soaked, and he hated that, too.
Even in his best efforts to hide from the downpour, he’d still been drenched. There were plenty of places to find shelter in Destiny City but of course he had to pick here.
And now there was Chaos here, too. Some Senshi, with a sickening aura, and some dark magic. A curse, probably. He didn’t understand half of the words but that voice–so shrill, so horrible. Of course it was evil! He didn’t even need Chaos to know that.
Maybe it was only raining because of this senshi. Maybe it would stop if he could just–if he could just make that noise stop.
Vilenius wasn’t exactly hiding, not from Chaos, not from the rain. He’d been trying to stay dry–or at least relieve some of the frustrating, overwhelming sensation of water pricking his skin. It didn’t matter now, there was Chaos right in front of him. He could top this.
He pushed himself out from the little alcove he’d sequestered himself into and stomped towards the senshi. There was enough water that he splashed when he walked and even that noise felt like a needle in his ear. His fists were balled at his side when he approached, and he snapped “Stop it!” just as he shoved into the Senshi.
Contact was brief; Chaos was a plague and he didn’t want it contaminating him. He wanted this rain to stop, he wanted this noise to stop.

In a distant sort of way that had recognized confrontation between herself and any Order auras around here as a potential problem, Lete had really, really hoped that maybe, the rainstorm would work in her favor in one way. Maybe the Order senshi or Knights lurking nearby would have enough sense of self-preservation—or at least, on the senshi’s parts, enough desire to not get caught in the rain when they wore white and some of them did not belong in a wet t-shirt contest—and maybe they would simply let Lete go without it being, like, A Whole Thing.
Except no.
Instead, some White Moon aura that felt about on par with Lete’s own came rushing in and pushed her. Because really, why would nice things ever happen? Vaguely, Lete noted that this guy looked either Not Very Human, or maybe like he had some obscure medical condition that she’d never heard of and probably couldn’t pronounce correctly. But that sounded like his problem, if he was gonna act like this with people, because Lete wasn’t here to fix his s**t for him.
“Hey, ******** off!” She snapped, pushing back at him, hands firm against his shoulders. “What the Hell is your problem, guy?”

“You,” Vilenius answered boldly and with great belligerence. Her hands on his shoulders were not a deterrent in the slightest, though it did limit him from his preferred method of combat, which was–quite simply–going for the throat.
Her hands were on him–ugh, disgusting–and he could feel the Chaos spreading from her palms right into his starseed. His skin was crawling.
He was so tired of Chaos everywhere he looked. Crawling across the surface of the Earth with no decency and no shame. No wonder the skies were always crying, this planet was miserable.
And so was he.
Lightning struck nearby, so loud that his ears rang and he heard only a horrible hum. It was almost as unpleasant as her singing but it was enough to deter him. He recoiled from her with enough force that he broke her hands from his shoulders. He snarled at her and collected his hair in a bundle in his arm.
Electricity still crackled in the air; lightning had struck a lamp post only a few yards from them and he was so sure could see sparks in the air. He hoped the next blast hit her but he wasn't going to stick around and find out.
He was already soaking wet; he didn't want to get fried on top of it.
Taking advantage of the suddenly worsening storm, he wove around the playground's fixtures until he disappeared. His aura faded quickly afterwards.
