That a*****e had bitten him. For absolutely no reason. The had been no point in it, but still…Langite was pissed off and as he felt another Senshi pop up on his internal radar, he snarled and made his way over, not bothering to size them up. Not bothering to see just who it was and shot his magic at them. ******** them.
“I Yearn.”
The words were a snarl and when he finally took a good look and saw that the one he had just attacked was none other than Daedalus…he felt rather pleased with himself.
He had warned the male that the next time they met they would be enemies, and this was another alien. Another foreign person who didn’t belong on this planet and was going to end up destroying it just like his own and.
And he was simply angry.
“I would have thought you would have learned your lesson.”

It has not exactly been the easiest of weeks. So many new people, so many strange things, and quite a lot of stress. He’d run into Murikabushi again; a positive, amidst everything else. But he’d fought with one of his own, and before that, Langite had declared him an enemy.
An enemy, because Langite disliked the truth of what had happened to Daedalus—himself, and his world. Disliked that he didn’t want to surrender to Chaos.
There was a Negaverse aura nearby, but Daedalus could only guess how close—never mind guess who it was. Right up until that magic struck him, and there was the familiar ache of longing in his chest.
Longing for a life that was gone. For a world that had died. For the comfort of someone who had loved him, but who was long lost to him.
He forced himself to stay standing. To resist the urge to collapse, and plead. Langite did not want him, not as he was.
“Ah, no, long term problems with retention of lessons. Infuriated plenty of people on my world, too. Progress On.”
His magic came, this time—and as loathe as he was to use it on Langite, he was equally loathe to lay down and die.
Quote:
Daedalus speaks the name of his attack, and enemies within a 6 foot radius are suddenly overwhelmed by visions of progress of some kind—social, technological, any kind is possible. These visions are crammed into about 10 seconds, and when they fade, they leave the targets disoriented as they try to parse through what they just saw. The disorientation lingers for about 20 seconds, but can remain longer at player discretion. Daedalus can use this attack three times per battle.
Langite growled as the magic hit him and he lowered his hand from the bleeding bite on his neck. There…what the hell was going on? There was too much to see, to think about, to process and he stumbled backwards, shaking his head and closing his eyes, trying to block it all out.
He couldn't focus. Couldn’t think. His neck hurt. His head hurt. Honestly, everything hurt and maybe he should have just gone home after dealing with the last ******** up alien. It would have made things easier. Better, even.
“Just get your ******** a** off of my planet. You’re not wanted.” Pain made his voice sharp, and confusion made his language far more gruff than normal.

It was a little like being slapped, hearing that come out of Langite's mouth. And with the lingering ache of his magic still fresh, it felt...perhaps more correct than Langite realized.
The only place Daedalus had ever been wanted was long gone. And he hadn't even been wanted there, not entirely. Certainly he'd worn the disapproval of his planet's elites like a badge of pride, but it still meant that he was regarded with suspicion. He'd been banned from more planets than he could count, really. Generally, Daedalus was...quite talented at making himself undesirable.
It just...hurt, to be reminded.
"If I'm not wanted here," he said, and he struggled to hold onto even the false air of easy confidence, the thing that had gotten him throguh many a confrontation before, "it wouldn't be the first place that's wanted to throw me out. Unfortunately, there's nowhere else for me to go."
As the magic around him finally began to fade, Langite drew in a breath and tried to get his head to stop spinning. His neck was aching with each beat of his heart and he turned a furious gaze on Daedalus, taking a step towards him. “You’re not wanted here. And you do have a place to go. Go back to your dead planet and die with it. It’s the least you could do. You’re an abomination. You’re not supposed to even be alive, so go and fix that.”
The venom wasn’t all for Daedalus, and honestly, when Langite would look back on this, he knew he would feel some guilt.
It was the other alien that had caused this anger. The other alien and the damn spruce Senshi…it was a culmination of so many things but.
Daedalus was here now.
And so he would receive all of the fury in Langite’s body.

Daedalus took a step back, to keep the distance between him and Langite. He could handle himself if things got physical, but he didn't want to. He didn't want to have to throw punches like this.
Even if every word felt like a knife.
"Can't do that," Daedalus said, softly. "You're right. I sohuld have died. I woke up in my own casket, you know? So I suppose I seemed dead enough to be entombed. But I survived for a reason, and I refuse to squander that. So alas, I'll simply have to stay where I'm not wanted, ruining the days of people who don't want me around."
Langite gave another noise that sounded like a growl and wiped away the blood that had collected on his neck again, glaring at Daedalus with a look that spoke of nothing but pure loathing.
“Fine. Then consider this your next warning. I will see that you are put in our system as someone who needs to be captured and to be killed slowly. And I will see that you suffer. Until you beg for death, and then when that moment has come, I will give it to you, and that will be it. I will see that you can no longer come back. That you can no longer darken this universe. I will destroy you. And I will love every moment of it.”
He turned his head and spat on the ground before twisting on his heel and vanishing once more into the night…but this time.
This time he was going home.

It hurt, being glared at like that by someone with Merak's face. But Langite was not the Merak he had known, and Daedalus needed to get that through his head.
The Merak he had known was gone. And Langite hated him. And maybe that was just the universe balancing the books.
"You can try," Daedalus said, as Langite turned away. "You won't be the first."
And if he'd managed to make himself an enemy of the Negaverse, perhaps that was for the best. At least his ability to anger people in power whom were desperate to hold onto it hadn't diminished.
He stood there, for a long moment, alone with his misery.
And then he turned around, to walk himself home. At least if he was miserable there, he could do it quietly, without being at risk of being attacked.
