It was much better this morning, and Lonnie left Judas at his house and made his way once again to the bookstore, fully intending to update Harker on what he knew and fully intending to bring lunch home for the both of them, and then bring Judas to his own place for the night.
Of course Lonnie would go patrolling but, Judas could at least feel safer there, and more comfortable and hopefully a little less lonely while he prowled the streets looking for someone who…’smelled like Christmas’...whatever that meant.
As Lonnie entered Blood and Ink, he idly thought that perhaps he should have bought something for everyone working…pastries or…coffee or…something. Next time he would. Maybe. If he felt like it.
For now, he set his sights on Harker and reached out, touching him lightly on the shoulder. “Harker. A private word, if you please. I have some updates.”
Which…was true. He had a lot of updates, and wanted to find out more about Harker’s role in everything and…how they could best protect Judas.

Harker had, admittedly, not expected to see Lonnie again this soon. He nodded, passing off what he'd been doing to Jean who seemed all to happy to do something. Slow days were admittedly the worse. Harker didn't mind the quiet, but when there was little to do... Any distraction was a welcomed one.
"Did he actually give you details?" He asked, sounding surprised. Harker stared at Lonnie for a moment, wondering. Maybe this time would be different.

Lonnie nodded and made for the same back room they had spoken in before, treating the store as though he were the owner and not Harker.
When they were alone and looked at the male and tilted his head. “He did. A Senshi who smelled ‘Like Christmas’. He also told me about you and the others here. And he now knows that I’m also in the Negaverse and I know of him as well.”
So he wasn’t subtle but, sometimes when it was big news like this…being direct was the best way to just…plow through it.
“I have to do some more digging, but when I find out more about this Senshi, of course I’ll let you know. And I would like it if we could do some patrols together just. To get to know one another a little better.”
He hadn’t looked away from Harker as he spoke, hadn’t even blinked, but now, a small smile spread across his face.

"Smells.... like Christmas." Harker said slowly. Though he made a face when Lonnie revealed they were all Negaverse. "Yeah, we're Negaverse. It's also part of the reason we all work here." So that they could keep tabs and watch over one another if things were getting funky.
"We can patrol if you want, but I will warn you I am not much help." Harker waved a hand, gesturing to myself. "Unlike you and Enfys, there is not much to me." Hell, he was pretty sure Judas had more to him. "Are you sure you can pry yourself away from Judas long enough to patrol though?" Harker teased.
"I admit... I am surprised, and probably a little jealous, that he even told you. Whenever I tried getting things out of him, it was like pulling teeth. He must really trust you." That itself, was big for Judas. Sure, he could trust Enfys, Jean or himself, but outside of their little group, Judas didn't really have anyone.

“That’s what he told me, and good. I’m glad that he has a support system. I have to admit he only told me about himself when I…had the bright idea to bring him to my General to get recruited but.” Lonnie’s smile turned a bit rueful and he shrugged. “I thought it would keep him safer. And…I’m glad that he trusts me. I. Trust him too. And that’s a big thing for me.”
Lonnie couldn’t help but roll his eyes at Harker and he scoffed. “Yes. I can pull myself away from him long enough to patrol, how else am I supposed to put an end to this smelly Senshi if I don’t. Tomorrow. You and I will go on a patrol tomorrow night. I have some ideas for tonight but. I don’t want to be out too long so. Expect me tomorrow. We can meet up at eight? If that works for you. I’d like to see how useless you are, since that’s what you’re claiming.”
Falling quiet for a moment, Lonnie had to shrug. “From my way of thinking. If you were useless. You would never have been recruited so. You should think more highly of yourself.”

Harker dropped his head into his hand. "Oh you didn't... Did you show up powered at his house?" He scrunched his nose at the thought. "He hates that. He doesn't like the idea of bringing 'work' home. Doesn't want to see anyone get hurt cause it followed them. Don't... do it here either. We don't have a cat to cover signatures." They'd already had that incident happen once, it didn't need to happen again.
He grinned at Lonnie's reaction. "You'll have to forgive me. I don't have younger brother so I have to take my wins where I can." Jean and Judas were the closest he had, especially when his own brother would rather see him dead. "I am built like a twig." Harker said flatly. "Sure, I'd like to think my weapon is a little better then Judas' but it doesn't do much."
"Ah. About that. I'm only here today, because both Jean and Judas. If it were not for their involvement, I would likely be in some unmarked location, forgotten to the world." Harker mumbled quietly.

“I know it was a stupid decision, but…it was the only thing I could think of at the time. It won’t happen again, but. Sometimes even the brightest of us can be stupid, and I’ll accept that label in this case.”
Lonnie watched Harker for a moment and then scoffed, placing a hand on his shoulder and giving it a little squeeze. “Even though I still dislike you on principle. I’m glad that you’re here. Glad that you’re not forgotten to the world, and I do hope that we can become friends with time.”
He fell quiet and huffed a laugh. “In fact. I don’t see that being any kind of an issue, really. I’ve started to see you as less of a pain in the a** and more of a friend each time that I see you, so. There we go.”
Don’t get involved with people your partner considers friends. It was a good rule but. Honestly. Lonnie was starting to just think that no rules applied when it came to Judas, as intimidating as that sounded.

"You might be sharing that label with us then. Wait till you see Jean and Judas together all day together. Some of the crap they get up to..."
Harker snorted, a small creeping on his face. "You know Judas is gonna give us hell when we start acting civil towards each other. We'll never hear the end of it." He laughed lightly. "I just wanted to run a bookstore. How did I end up with friends? Gross." It was all in good fun though.
"For what it's worth. I was not trying to start anything between us. I did just want to warn you of what would happen. Believe it or not I do want to see him happy. Whatever this is, whatever you two are. I hope it works. He deserves that much, after everything he's been through."

“I suppose, but. Regardless of your actions and motives, I didn’t listen, and I’m still not going to listen so. We can simply deal with that.” Lonnie was amused and looked it, finally giving a sigh and nodding at Harker. “I’m going to be on my way, but keep an eye out for this Christmas smelling Senshi and we’ll teach her a lesson she won’t forget.”
He’d kill her. That was all there was to it, and then she would never be able to bother Judas again. And that would be one worry out of the way.
“I’ll meet you here tomorrow night, Harker. We’ll have a good patrol, and you can see just what my magic does too.” The smile on his face was bigger and just a little sinister, but. Not bad.
And with that, Lonnie nodded and again left the room and the shop as a whole, stifling a yawn and going to get breakfast for himself and Judas.
