Ever since his discussion with Langite, Daedalus had felt...off kilter. Terribly so. He wasn't sure what to make of the fact that apparently, the Negaverse told its Senshi that it was the White Moon that was the real threat. Like it wasn't Chaos that was out there, eating worlds...
But he supposed it made sense. People in power always lied, always wanted to twist things to make themselves sound correct. It was the way of things, and Daedalus should have expected it, it just...hurt.
Hurt to imagine Langite considering him an enemy. Hurt to imagine being on the receiving end of that awful magic again.
He shivered, even though it was a warm night. His thoughts kept him busy, circling the fact that he might not be able to help Langite see the truth.

Trying to play nice with the Dark Mirror Court was…harder than Angelica wanted it to be. She still felt the overwhelming irrational anger whenever she saw someone in one of those stupid sheer overlays and that just…
Pissed her off.
Still, she was doing her best, and being able to just wail on those in the Negaverse did help somewhat…and the person she saw right now…perplexed her.
They had horns, yet wore white and felt like a regular Senshi but…
If they had horns that just had to be a bad thing, right? Of course it was. ANd so Angelica pounced. “Is that your disguise? You have a white shirt that helps to what…to disguise your aura? You can’t ******** fool me, I’m not stupid!”
Breaking into a run, Angelica made her way over to the Senshi and held her hand out. “Spruce Smoke Surprise, b***h!”
There was no time to mess around. She had to attack someone, after all.Noir Songbird Angelia says the name of her attack and produces a three energy spruce cones. She throws this handful of cones at an opponent and when the cones come in contact with something, they explode into a light green smoke, which smells very strongly of Spruce. The attack is nothing more than an overwhelming smell of spruce, but it is nevertheless distracting. If the spruce cones hit a target, they will cause a small bit of pain upon exploding, akin to being struck with a golf ball. The smoke dissipates in thirty seconds and the attack can be used three times per battle.

Even if he had been paying attention, Daedalus wouldn't have expected an attack from a fellow White Moon Senshi. That wasn't how it was supposed to work, generally speaking--it wasn't as if he hadn't known, or known of, his fair share of colossal jackasses in the past, but it seemed...different, here.
So, he was absolutely not ready to be. Well, jumped. Accused of faking his aura--somehow?!--and then attacked.
The worst part was the attack itself.
"Wait--" he started to say, which meant opening his mouth. Breathing. Inhaling the overpowering scent of some plant or other, which made him start to cough, and once he started coughing, it continued. He couldn't get enough air, never mind that every breath came with the dizzying taste and smell of--ugh, he'd run into these trees on a wintery world, but his head was spinning and remembering what they'd been called was beyond him.
"Wait," he gasped, voice ragged, before being seized by another round of hacking coughs.
s**t.
He reached, desperately, for his magic, in the hopes that it would make her back off. He hadn't needed to speak to use it for years--not since he was still learning his way around his power--so it sohuld--it sohuld be easy--
But there was nothing. No magic rose to his hand. There was just--blankness, like a wall between him and his power, and Daedalus was starting to feel legitimately dizzy.
s**t!

Angelica stared, watching as her magic seemed to be affecting this imposter Senshi more than the average bear, and…that was good. Maybe being an imposter made it so he was weaker to magic. That would make some sense, she supposed.
“What am I waiting for, because if it’s for you to die, I’ll happily wait. I’m not sure what you think you’re fooling with those horns of yours. No Senshi has horns. If you were going to disguise yourself, I would have thought you would have gotten rid of those. I’m really not stupid.”
She was terribly smug, and toyed with the idea of continuing to strike him with her magic to just see if he did die. Like spraying a roach with perfume until it couldn’t breathe anymore.

"Not...not a disguise," Daedalus gasped. His chest hurt, and he could barely catch his breath, but the coughing was starting to subside, as the smoke from the magic started to fade. Or maybe he was just getting momentarily used to it. One or the other.
"I'm Sailor Daedalus," he gasped. "Horns..are because I'm not from Earth. Swear to you, I'm a Senshi, just not." He coughed, and winced, hard. "Not human. Not from this planet."
He hoped she listened. Hoped she didn't attack him again, because he wasn't sure if he would be able to stay conscious if he had to breathe in more of that smoke.

Not human. Angelica rolled her eyes and prepared to cast her magic again, lips curling into a sneer. “Not human, I could tell, but. What do you mean not from Earth? That’s literally not a thing.”
…And if it was, she hadn’t found out yet so, clearly it shouldn’t be. “Prove it. Sailor Daedalus. Prove to me that you’re not from Earth, and I’ll not throw my magic at you again and keep throwing it until you die, which…seems like it won’t take much more.”
…Which was good because her magic wasn’t infinite. “So start talking and prove it.” She had less than no faith that he could, and was almost eager to watch him twitch like a dying bug.

"It...it is a thing. There are other Senshi like me. Sailor Fang, I've met. Sailor Dagon, I've heard of. Others, too." Daedalus was starting to be able to fill his lungs, and that was making it easier for him to speak.
"The reason your magic is affecting me so badly," he said, "is because when I was a child, on my planet, I had to work in factories and breathe in dangerous chemicals all day. Wrecked my lungs." He took a deep breath. Then another. Felt his lungs fill properly.
"What do you want from me? To prove that I'm telling the truth? I can tell you more things about my world, before I came here. It's dead, now, Chaos killed it, but--it was alive, once."

Angelica watched him and her smug, ready smile grew a little more unsure and finally her hand lowered and she huffed. “Okay, so you have a good backstory but. If you’re not from the Earth then why are you here now? If you had…have a world of your own, why not just go back and live there, dead or not?”
Then again…
“I have a world of my own too. But I don’t have horns…I suppose I don’t understand but. Yeah. Tell me more about your world. And why you’re here and…why did you have to work in a factory as a child? That’s…pretty ******** up.”

She seemed to be backing down. Good. Whoever this Senshi was, she seemed...zealous, but she was willing to listen.
"I don't know, truth be told," Daedalus confessed. "I woke up in a sarcophagus, and I thought I was going to die there. But there was this....calling, and it brought me to Earth." He shook his head. "But my world--it isn't livable anymore. It was getting bad, before I....went under, but now....I couldn't stay there even if I wanted to. There's nothing I could eat, the air is thick as mud--nowhere anyone should be long term. Not anymore."
He shrugged his shoulders. "I worked in a factory because it was that or die on the streets. My family was dirt poor. My parents died when I was small. Food wasn't free, and I could only rely on the largesse of equally dirt poor strangers so much. It was work or starve. I did not want to starve."

“That doesn’t really sound like a place that I’d want to protect.” Or go back to, and Angelica supposed that she couldn’t blame him for coming to Earth…it was pretty great here, she had to admit. “Well. I apologize for attacking you then, I really. I’m used to those who look like monsters actually being monsters, and I wouldn’t put it past the Negaverse to rig up something to fake a friendly aura. They’re all assholes.”
Hesitating for a moment, she held a hand out. “I’m Sailor Angelica of Spruce. Maybe…one day you could come up and see my homeworld. I’ve only been once but. It’s pretty. Lotta trees which. Obviously. It’s to be expected but still. It’s nice.”
She chewed on her lip and shrugged. “I hope that your lungs can get better here. Is there any way to heal them?”

Daedalus gave a little nod of acknowledgement. "I suppose I must look quite shocking, if I'm the first alien you've met." He took her hand, and shook it. "Daedalus. Of Progress." Which always felt like an irony. More bitterly so after reflecting on how terrible it had been, even before Chaos.
"A pleasure to meet you, Angelica. The caution is warranted, I suppose, but...mm, perhaps try talking first?" So that hopefully no other poor alien Senshi got a face-full of nasty magic. Though he supposed it might not affect someone else as badly as it did him. "I'd be glad to see your world someday. I'd invite you to mine, but. Ah, as I said, not...much to see."
Though he would have to try and go back himself. Maybe there was something to do.
"It was better once, but...Chaos eats away at things." A quiet sigh. "As for my lungs, I'm not sure. They're better here than they were on my world, at least."

“Chaos is nothing but poison. I can’t just talk first. That’ll do nothing but get you killed. It’s better this way, and even if there might be some casualties, I’ll make sure that I won’t be one of them.” Angelica shrugged and released his hand, taking a step backwards. “I should head out. Perhaps you should. Find some way to figure out how to heal the lungs. If you can find a Senshi with healing magic, I’ll always be happy to irritate them and hopefully they can fix the damage. It’s worth a try.”
Shrugging again, Angelica gave a friendly nod and then paused, drawing out her Senshi phone and snapping a photo of Daedalus. “There. I’ll be in touch. Stay safe. Maybe…find a hat to cover the horns.
A grin now and a moment later, Angelica was gone, off into the night.
