Langite wasn’t finished investigating, and though he knew he should get back to Judas…or at least be home in case he needed to call…he wasn’t ready to just give up. Plus the rain had stopped, and a quick moment to power down to Lonnie and back up into Langite provided the relief of dry clothes and hair that he had been hoping for.
Thank goodness for magic, right?
There was someone else out besides Daedalus, someone stronger than the alien Senshi, and who wasn’t a Senshi at all, and Langite made his way over, almost cautious. The figure he saw was dressed in red and purple and had hair that was…acceptable with its length.
For a moment, he thought about striking up a conversation but…it would be more fun to just see what his magic did to this one. The more data he had the better and so he looked at the Squire and looked away. “I yearn.”
He then turned back, eager to see the reaction.

Meninx shouldn't have been out in the rain. It had been a bad day already. He was likely to catch a cold, but a part of him didn’t even think it possible for such a thing to happen while he was powered up, and honestly–he was too hot, too frustrated, too stressed out to feel chilly in this weather.
Instead, it was refreshing.
Well, it had been, before that Chaos signature had popped up, and he’d thought that alone must have been what set off these emotions in him–just a tipping point of stress, right?
Except, it clicked rather quickly that he must have done something to Meninx, because he didn’t usually feel this pathetic.
He was familiar with the urge to be better, to do better, to prove himself, and tonight was no different. He’d had a long day at work–a long day of winning, at work! But it was never enough! Accumulate wealth for wealthy people, defend people who didn’t deserve it, fight for the person with the most money--he wasn’t happy and he hated it and the only thing his mother cared about was parading him about like her little success story.
And that was the only time she seemed to want him around, all his free time should be spent studying or climbing the social ladder, or sweet talking some young lady she’d introduced him to.
He hated it. He just wanted her approval, just wanted her praise, just wanted her love, just wanted–
“What did you do?” he spat, because there was no reason for him to spiral this badly when he’d already been coming down from the stress of the day. His hands balled into fists at his side and he was just so frustrated already, it felt like he couldn’t breathe. He had to look to make sure there wasn’t actually a hand in his chest, squeezing.
“Turn it off, make it stop,” he demanded.

“It’ll end soon enough. I must say, I do love how it works on people. You must have a lot of things you want.” There was almost a smile on Langite’s face as he watched the Squire seem to almost have an entire breakdown because of his magic. It was honestly gratifying and made him feel…powerful. Still, that wasn’t the point and he took a step closer. “You haven’t been aware of anyone venting their spleens on anyone lately, have you? By lately, I mean last night. A friend of mine was hurt pretty badly and I am honestly just out her to see if I can find some answers.”
Perhaps he was going about it the wrong way, perhaps attacking first and then demanding answers wasn’t…
Politic but.
It was fun.

“So you think the best course of action to convince me to give you answers was to use–what, your magic? On me?” That was it, right? There wasn’t any other explanation, he wasn’t usually so–
So emotional? He didn’t even know, everything still sounded scrambled and he was not planning on deciphering the world around him right now. He didn’t trust this guy, the Senshi was too calm. He seemed calculated, but Meninx couldn’t figure out what he actually wanted out of all of this.
To see him squirm for a bit?
“I don’t even know what you’re talking about. Is your friend as charming as you are or did something happen?”
He had to bite his tongue not to say something more, something worse. He had his own magic–and he had a weapon! But this was still the Negaverse he was dealing with, and he didn't need a repeat of whatever that just was.
His problems were loud enough without magic to amplify them.

“I enjoy seeing what my magic does to people. It helps me understand how best to use it, and this has been a lot of data, though I do realize if I was hoping for cooperation this wasn’t the way to go about that.”
Perhaps if he had wanted cooperation, he should have simply asked but…data was more important in the long run. “As for my friend, no. He’s not involved in any of this. He is an innocent and…” Langite trailed off, his mind beginning to move swiftly, thinking.
Judas wasn’t involved in any of this…and that…was one of the biggest issues that Langite had…the fact that he had to hide half of his life from Judas and…if he could be brought in…Lopezite could help. Lopezite was a good General and he would be able to provide Judas with powers to keep himself safe and then this wouldn't ever have to happen again…
Langite stood up a little straighter, his mind in a flutter as he thought about just how to arrange this, and…obviously the first and most important thing was to go see Judas. To talk to him and give him the choice as Langite and…
“I apologize. I have other things to attend to, I don’t think you’re truly capable of beating someone up in the way he was hurt, I hope you get whatever it is you long for.”
With that said, as close to a true apology that he was willing to give, the Senshi vanished into the night.

Meninx’s eyes narrowed at the senshi as he tried to process what he was saying. It was like he was living in another world, operating on another plane of existence. He was here but Meninx felt like he was only getting half the story.
And what was with these manners? Why didn’t he start the conversation with them? He was apologizing?
Meninx felt flustered, and ashamed, and–
Even if this senshi was wishing him well, something about the way he said he wanted Meninx to get what he longed for, and–
Did he know? Did Meninx even know what he wanted?
He was left alone with his thoughts before he could even snap back.
He’d come out tonight to work off some stress, and every progress he’d made suddenly felt lost.
The rain fell around him and for the first time tonight it seemed cold.
