[ Puleleiite 1 ]
Puleleiite was located not too far out of the family home, looking through the shallow tide pools that lingered as high tide pulled away. She often looked to see what creatures remained, taking advantage of the opportunity to use them in a new dish she was trying out. Her fingers brushed through the shallow waters, leaving rippling effects in their wake.
Letting out a sigh, she leaned back and looked out toward the waters, contemplating what to do and where to go next to make the most of her day.

Ha'ulili lay on her back floating in the waters staring up at the sky in deep thought. One could say she was having a mini life crisis about what to do with the rest of her life and nothing she did to keep herself occupied gave her any indication of what she wanted to do.
She let out a exasperated sigh, she wishes she was able to talk to one of siblings and see if they had any advice to give her about what to do with her life, it was causing her unnecessary grief and stress even though she was still young, she still needed to figure it out.

As Puleleiite was looking out at the water, she caught sight of the darker form of her sister. Of course, all the siblings and cousins were darker, but Ha'ulili had the dark hair on the soft brown skin that stood out against the rest of them.
Letting out a long hum, she watched for a long minute, curious at what her sister was doing before realizing maybe she might be hurt or distressed. Standing up and brushing off the sand from her knees, she walked toward the water and shouted out toward her sibling.
"Ha'ul, you ok?"

Ha’ulili blinked as she heard the muffled call of her sister in the distance before she turned her slightly and squinted her eyes a little to make out her sister’s figure and saw she was standing on the sand at the edge of the water. She made a small shift and she sat up in the water before squinting and making her sister’s figure on the sand.
She was probably wondering why she was out on the water but not really paying attention to her surroundings. She decided to make her way towards Puleleitte perhaps she could offer some advice on her problem. She swam towards her sister and as she got to the shallows she stood up. Before speaking up “mmhm.. I suppose, just was lost in my head thinking about things I suppose”

Puleleiite crossed her arms as her sister approached, a little confused at her behavior. The girl was usually bubbly and excited to join in activities, so it was strange to see her moping about. As she stood before her, her vauge response also was concerning, and Puleleiite narrowed her eyes in thought.
"Thinking about things?" She prodded after a moment, stepping forward so her own feet were now being submerged by the waves each time they came ashore.

Ha’ulili blinked as her sister studied intently and nodded her head “mmhm…” she replied. “Just figuring out what I should do for the rest of my life, as in a career and such” she responded . She was young but she was still the type to figure where she was going before hand “do you know what you want to do for the rest of your life?” She asked her sister curiously “or are you having difficulty deciding too.”

"Ooooh." She said with a bright spark in her eye, finally understanding as she decided to sit in the wet sand and let the water brush up her legs. It was refreshing and relaxing, another thing she loved about her home.
"Well, I'm not super certain, but I think I want to do something around cooking or baking." She said after a long moment, "I haven't told anyone yet because I know it's different than what most in our family do. But I can't see myself really doing anything else currently. I just love trying new things with food."
She giggled at the thought, "It wasn't too difficult, I just thought about what makes me happy in life. What makes you happy, Ha'ul?"

She frowned and plopped down slightly more dramatically than usual "Well, I am officially jealous that you sorta know what you want to do. I have yet to figure that part out and it's making me sad" she said admitted, Pauleleiite and her were always close and she was her go-to person to talk to. I mean Kalakua was also helpful but in a different aspect of her life but Pule was her go-to person in regard to life in general.
"See..that's just it though, I don't know and anything I have done up to this point has not given me any indication. I mean..I like being in the water and being beside the ocean but I also like spending time with the family but nothing has given me any hint of what makes me passionate or happy" she frowned a bit more. She sighed dramatically "How was it so easy for you and Kala?" she wondered.

The girl thought for a long moment, before leaning a shoulder against her sister, "Well don't force it, you've got so much time to figure it out."
She paused again, "Well you like the water and being with family...so you could help with the family business or even become a fishermen. There's a lot of them here. And Papa said that back home a lot of people learn how to ride creatures underwaters. Hunters and stuff."

"But...time flies by so quickly, what if I don't figure it out," she said frowning a bit more, she was a plan ahead type then take your time. "It feels odd not sure about what I want to do, I mean I get I'm still young and have time to figure things out but, a part of me wants me to have some idea."
The suggestions her sister gave her some ideas to think about, but none that stood out at her currently. While she could become a fisherman she wanted a career that was both exciting and adventurous.

She blinked at the concept of not figuring it out, before letting out a gentle laugh.
"Oh, my sweet sister, there isn't a timer on deciding what to do. And if you don't like it, you can always do something else." She added with a smirk, "That's the best part of life, trying new things!" And a big reason why she liked cooking.
"We could always explore around town and see what kind of jobs are out there? Maybe you just need a little inspiration away from the waves?"

She let out another sigh but thought about it perhaps her sister was right she needed some time away from the waves, the waves were her place to go when she had to think and figure things out because she grew up surrounded by it and the sound of crashing waves made her feel somewhat calm about things that go wrong. One would say she loved the water and it was her favourite place to go.
"I suppose you make a valid point, maybe a change of scenery is the key to sorting my thoughts out" she said thinking about it thoughtfully

"Well I'm hungry anyway, so let's grab some lunch and then we can ask some of the adults the same one you asked me - why they chose what they chose." She said warmly, standing up and stomping lightly in the water before brushing off the sand.
Turning, she reached out a hand and smiled down at her sister, "Well, let's go!"

"I'm also hungry too, so yes I agree let us go eat something" she said and nodded her head at her sister's suggestion to ask some adults why they chose what they chose. Perhaps that would help her narrow down what she truly wanted for herself instead of constantly struggling and moping around about it.
She took her sister's hand and brushed off the sand off her legs with her free hand "okay!" she said, she was somewhat excited about the prospect of asking around and doing some of her research into why certain people chose certain careers. Why hadn't that thought occurred to her beforehand?

They walked hand-in-hand to the village just as the vendors began to sell lunch. The smell of cooked fish and spices filled the air, a familiar scene for the oceanside village of Matori locals. Both girls were a familiar sight these days, and so the vendors smiled as they served the fish. One winked at Puleleiite, commenting about a new spice she was eager to try.
As the moved to sit down, she looked at her sister again between bites, "So who first?"
