                    WEAPONS

                        ‣ As a former military officer, Aoeros was required to master three separate forms of combat alongside hand-to-hand combat. While he chose to master archery and swordsmanship, his preferred weapon is a glaive with a modified blade that allows for the occasional non-violent takedown.
                        ‣ As a predator-based beastkin, he is able to use his fangs as weapons in desperate situations. Aoeros prefers to bite with precision; he won't bite until he has a clear shot at a killing blow. His claws are also deadly weapons, but he's a bit of a vain person and would prefer to avoid using them if he can.

                    MAGIC

                        ‣ None. Aoeros has no magical ability.

                        ‣ Stealth
                        ‣ Braiding
                        ‣ Botany
                        ‣ Tracking

                    SECRETS

                        ‣ He is not one for keeping secrets. Secrets often cause mistrust; it is best to be honest from the start.

                    EXTRAS

                        ‣ He is well past the average age a beastkin generally marries. He isn't actively searching nor does he have any drive to do so. If he falls, he falls; if he doesn't, he doesn't. Aoeros is by no means inexperienced, of course. He's a good-looking bachelor and he knows it.
                        ‣ Aoeros lives under the philosophy that everyone is responsible for their own shortcomings. While there's nothing wrong with asking for help, he doesn't believe one person needs to make themselves lesser than they are just because someone else can't or won't better themselves. He also doesn't believe the strong have a born responsibility to protect the weak; if someone takes on the responsibility in some way such as becoming a parent or other figure of authority, then of course they must do so. But, no one is born with the obligation to help others.
                        ‣ Beastkin can be prone to terrible tempers under the right circumstances. While Aoeros prides himself on being in control of himself, some things quickly get under his skin. He detests when people put down others simply because they themselves are lacking and abuse of authority, especially when inflicted on one's own subordinates, enrages him.

                    PERSONALITY
Aoeros is widely praised as a great general by the people. While he can be a cruel person when necessary, he is also a dedicated and generous one. He is selfless when it comes to his subordinates or wards; it is not strange for him to forfeit basic needs for the sake of those in his care. He once went a full week with the smallest portions for himself so that his troops would have more to eat during a training expedition that went wrong. Aoeros is also a social man that prefers to be his peoples' equal rather than superior most of the time. He is confident, maybe a little arrogant, in his abilities yet rarely boasts unless he is consumed in the moment and is rather nonchalant. And, if he's presented with an opportunity to be lazy, he'll take it when he can. All in all, Aoeros is a natural carer and protector and he takes these traits seriously.

                    BIOGRAPHY
Aoeros was born in a small, struggling village that existed on a delicate line; close enough to be considered part of the kingdom but far enough to not be given much thought. Life in his home village was very different from the life of luxury he now lives and it started off with the cards stacked against him. His mother had suffered a difficult pregnancy and lacked the care she needed, so she lived just long enough to take her son into her arms and died with a smile on her face. It ended up being just him and his father throughout his childhood and despite having lost the love of his life, his father never faltered in the responsibilities he had taken on as a parent. He was a good father. But, he was also a good neighbor. Too good, in fact, and this good, kind nature is the root of Aoeros' firm beliefs surrounding responsibilities and managing one's own flaws.

His father was one of the strongest in the village and as such, their neighbors often relied on him. And, he was a kind man who was happy to lend a hand. Aoeros always admired and respected this about his father; his dedication to the responsibilities he took on to help others was inspiring. But, he also saw that while his father would help others, he received little to no help in return. He never asked for it, of course, but somehow that only angered Aoeros more. For these people to ask for and take his father's help without offering any themselves? He didn't have a very good relationship with their neighbors because of it. Aoeros was never rude or vindictive; he never dared to cause such trouble for his father. No, he was a good kid who did what he could to help lessen his father's burden. But, one day when Aoeros was fifteen, his father was just gone. Crushed in a landslide while hunting for the village.

His fellow hunters retrieved and returned his father's body, but no one was there when Aoeros buried him. It further cemented his anger towards his village. His father had done so much for their village but they couldn't even be bothered to pay their respects to him. Then, to add salt to the wound, they dared to try and lean on him; as if his father was just another resource that could be replaced. Aoeros left his village and made for the capital city within days of his father's death, taking nothing but some clothes and his parents' marriage charms. It was the first and only time he abandoned people that relied on him. He doesn't regret it. Aoeros only ever returned to that village once and that was to retrieve his parents' remains so they could be buried on his personal property.

From there, Aoeros joined the military. It was not an easy journey. He was initially turned away because of his unstable citizenship and he spent five years establishing himself as a true citizen of the kingdom. Once he was in, he was outcasted by his fellow trainees and had a difficult time forming any connection with them. But, over the next six years, things gradually shifted. He earned the respect of his fellows through his determination and sense of loyalty. The ordeal that solidified his popularity was his selflessness during a training expedition that had gone wrong. Their navigation gear wound up damaged and the troop ended up lost for an entire week before they were found. During that week, Aoeros made sure his subordinates had more in terms of rations than he did; when asked why he separated the portions the way he had, he'd simply told them that as their superior, he wasn't going to let them die on an expedition and that he would do all he could to get them home. It also made sense strategically to maintain the collective strength of the group rather than the strength of a single man as even a troop of inexperienced rookies could do more for their survival than he could.

That experienced ushered in a new era for Aoeros' career. The troop he'd been in charged of sang praises for his loyalty and strategic ability. His career skyrocketed from there and he was taken under the wing of the General Terra before him to train as his replacement. At the age of twenty-eight, when his superior retired, he took up the mantle and though he only served as General Terra for four years, he was highly respected. But, now, he's pulled back from the position in favor of accepting the assignment to look after their new prince. He didn't have plans to retire as General Terra so soon, though he'd thought hard about it before when he became overworked, but the change in position is still very welcome.
