Classical music played in his office, kept on low so those walking by his office wouldn’t hear, it wasn’t a sure thing but enough studies said playing music would indeed help plant growth. It had been something he’d heard since he was younger, much younger, and while no definitive answer was out there he figured he’d try it, maybe it would work. He wasn’t testing for it, he was working on just getting them to live down here, so it didn’t matter if it didn’t help them grow…so long as he tried whatever he could to help them. He doubted it would kill them.

Seating himself he pulled his notebook, now packed with writing, from his draw and a pen was taken from the holder on his desk. Once he’d flipped to the latest page, and dated accordingly, he started making his observations - plant by plant. He’d lost one more, one he’d thought he might lose, he hadn’t been too surprised. He knew some wouldn’t make it, though how they died was a bit of a surprise to him.

After the observations were completed he got up and went to change the soundtrack a bit, he was getting tired of Beethoven. Bach wasn’t a favorite but it worked he supposed, it was something different, as he’d been getting sick of the same soundtrack on loop for over a day. He hadn’t been in his office all day, he did have a life outside of here, but he’d been teleporting in often enough that the music had been getting to him a bit. The change was needed.

As the music changed he went to seat himself again and look over the plants, some seemed to certainly be doing better than others. This was expected, as far as he figured it, the results weren’t abnormal really. He was surprised a bit to see some thriving though, even if they were all plants which preferred the shade. The lights he had in his office, to keep them growing, were working there hardest despite the otherwise shadow filled atmosphere of his office and the area in general.

Maybe it was time to bring some more plants into the project? Some more of the ones which were thriving..to see if he could replicate it and get more of them to make it. It wasn’t a bad idea, that way he could see if it was a species thing and that these certain types were suited for what he was doing. Did he want to try again with the same ones which had already failed or weren’t doing well though? He could try and see if he could make it work for them…but did he want to take the time to try it or just focus on the ones he knew were doing well and replicate it? The second idea did seem to be the better use of his time really, and he didn’t have a lot of time on his hands.

Grabbing a small sheet of paper from a drawer, he kept loose sheets of paper in a drawer for quick notes to himself, and jotted down which plants he needed to pick up more of. He’d drop by a green house tomorrow, when he had time, and pick up a few more plants to add into the project. That little note written down, and pushed to the side, he finished his note taking for now.
