Sappho was early. For a meeting as important as this, she had to be, and she had to remember that she was negotiating on behalf of her whole Court.
She sohuld have told Alistair, or Lance, or Cass, or Quinn. Brought literally any of them with her. "My sister-in-law is a Princess" was only an effective threat if the Princess was there to back it, after all; otherwise it sounded pretty lame.
But the thing was, Angelica had kissed her. And the kiss had left her lips tingling, left her brushing her fingers over them after, and left her wondering. Like, what if what Angelica really wanted wasn't some kind of awful, violent revenge.
What if....what if she wanted something different.
(...What if Sappho kind of liked that idea.)
Besides, she'd promised to come alone. So there she was, waiting, pacing antsily, a bundle of nerves as she awaited Angelica's arrival.

Angelica hadn’t slept the night before. Well, she did eventually when she was too exhausted to stay up any longer, and she ended up sleeping until nearly five in the afternoon so spent the last few hours rushing to get ready. She had a dinner packed away in her subspace pocket now and a small bag at her hip which held some blankets just in case her homeworld was cold…as well as some more food, just in case the dinner wasn’t enough…and.
Well.
A stupid teddy bear that had a bunch of violets in its stupid paws…
She hadn’t been going to buy it but. It was just so damn cute...she had no resistance to it.
It was so easy to feel the Dark Mirror Senshi there, and Angelica cleared her throat, holding her hand out. “I’m glad that you’re here…are you ready for this? I’ve never gone before but. I’m hoping it’s nice up there. I. Promise I won’t just leave you up there this time. So, don’t worry about that.”

Sappho jolted a little when she heard Angelica's voice, and spun to face her. Still, she smiled, even if it was a little nervous.
"Uh, yeah, I'm totally ready," she said. It wasn't fair, really, for Angelica to be so cute, when she was so dangerous, and this was a negotiation to make sure that she didn't hurt Sappho's Court, not like...a date.
Or maybe it could be both. Multitasking.
"So, uh, yeah, let's...let's go." She reached out and put her hand in Angelica's. "I've never been to space either, y'know. We don't...have that."

“I know! That’s what clearly makes us so much better than your dumb mirror.”
Holding tightly to Sappho’s hand, Angelica withdrew her Senshi phone and showed it off too. “We get cool cell phones too, if that helps you be jealous, because it should. It’s like legit a magical smart phone. Plus…”
She knew how to get to space in theory but…when she pressed her thumb against the center button, she was still a little hesitant that it might not work, though the rush of joy that she felt when it did was almost overwhelming.
It was cold. A brisk wind tore through the trees, and there were so many. It was a pine forest…and she supposed that they were all spruce trees…it would make sense if that was the case but…
“...Guess this is Angelica. It’s cold like I had worried about. Here.”
Reaching into her bag she pulled out the blankets and handed one to Sappho. “It’ll keep you warm. Anyway let’s find somewhere sheltered from this wind, and then we can talk.”
Taking hold of the Dark Mirror’s hand again, Angelica walked for a few minutes until there was a tight knit grove of trees and sitting down, she finally released the other girl’s hand. “I brought food.”

Sappho wanted to argue, that it wasn't a matter of "better," that Mirrorspace was totally cool too, but....well, it was true, they didn't exactly have planets. But she was sure they had something just as awesome. Also,t hey only had lame compact communicators and a magic smartphone seemed way cooler.
"Can you play Tetris on that?" She asked, and only half sarcastically.
Not that it was worth arguing when she was being whisked off to space.
The wind was a surprise, and it made Sappho shiver, so she gratefully accepted the blanket with a soft "thanks" and slung it around her shoulders.
"It's really pretty here," she said, as Angelica led her onward. Better to stick together anyway, when this was a world she didn't know, and who knew what might be lurking out there in the woods. When Angelica finally let go, she smiled, and took a look around.
"Oh, cool. I didn't eat before I left, so....that's great."
Why did this feel like a date?? Was this a date??? Oh, god, was this a date.

“I haven’t tried yet, but I bet we can. It has enough other cool features that I haven’t needed to play tetris, but. I’ll look into it for you.” Angelica began to pull the food out of her bag. It was things from the grocery store deli, a large container of chicken strips, some buffalo sauce, ranch, honey mustard and barbeque just in case one of the options didn’t work, and a large tub of mac and cheese as well as some cole slaw.
Pulling two paper plates out she gestured for Sappho to help herself to what she wanted and put out some spoons and forks as well.
“Okay, so. I figure, if you want me to stop targeting your people, you just have to be mine. Break up with whoever you’re dating and date me instead. We’ll hang out often, and you’ll be my girlfriend. I hope that one day you’ll decide that I’m wonderful and you want to come be a White Moon Senshi too, but…that can be later, I’m patient.”
She reached for a chicken strip and dipped one end in the honey mustard, taking a bit.
“Somewhat patient. So. What do you say? Easy enough, right?”

Sappho nodded, idly, taking the plate. She was starting to reach for the food when Angelica laid out her suggestion, and she froze halfway throguh scooping some mac and cheese onto her plate.
"What," she said, and the scoop of noodles sort of plopped back into the container as she stared in open shock. "You want me to dump my girlfriend. And date you. And if I don't do that, what? You'll keep attacking the rest of my Court?"
....It was kind of an insane prospect. It was ridiculous. It would be cruel to Kelly.
But. Hadn't Sappho been thinking that she liked Angelica? And wasn't this a fair trade, anyway?
".....Okay." She said, and she properly scooped food onto her plate. "Okay, I'll do that. I guess...I guess that's a fair trade." She frowned, a little. "But you can't, like, put any deadlines on me purifying and joining you guys, okay? I like being a Dark Mirror. I don't want to leave."

“That’s correct. That’s what got me attacking them. You broke my heart when you rejected me, so now you’re healing my heart and that’ll stop them from getting their heads smashed into the concrete. It’s an extremely fair trade. You’re saving lives here. You should feel good about yourself, Sappho.”
Angelica looked quite pleased with herself and began scooping food onto her own plate, grinning slightly. “I know you’ll love me. And I know that one day you’ll want to spend more time with me than whatever we can snatch as we are. And then we’ll get married and live happily ever after and we’ll have homes on each of our homeworlds and we’ll have a garden and maybe adopt a cat.”
Sure, Angelica was getting far ahead of herself but. She had Sappho’s consent so. All of it could come true…would come true.

This was....a lot more insane than Sappho had thought she was signing up for.
But the thing was, she was trapped here. This was another planet, out in space, and she had to play nice with the girl who seemed to think that the only thing standing between her and a domestic life with Sappho was....what,. Sappho's current commitment tot he Dark Mirror? And also her girlfriend.
God, she was glad she'd never mentioned Kibirev's name.
"I mean, maybe," Sappho said. She carefully served herself some food and sat down with her plate in her lap. "Never know what the future holds, I guess."
She'd have to figure out how to handle things. But she would handle them. This was....this was going to be fine. Probably. Maybe.

Angelica watched Sappho for a moment and then reached back into her bag, pulling out the small white teddy bear with the violets. “I saw this in the store and it obviously made me think of you. So. I hope you’ll accept it.” Perhaps she had come on a little strongly…but.
This had wound had been festering for months and now that she had Sappho here...
She wasn’t going to waste this chance.
“What foods do you like? I’ll bring something again next time if you want?”

Sappho took the bear, and forced herself to smile and nod. "Thanks, it's really cute," she said. She'd find somewhere to put it, out of the way, and hope she never had to think about it again.
This had started out...sorta promising. But apparently, Sappho had underestimated exactly how dangerous Angelica was. So she'd just have to...play along as best she could. And maybe warn Kibirev.
"Uh, I like pastries," she said, "but for like...real food, I love a good steak and cheese? And chicken tenders are pretty much always a winner." Honestly, she didn't ever want to do this again. But did she really have a choice?

“Meet me again next week, same time same place? I’m not sure if we’ll be able to come up here, but I’ll have a good meal for us anyway. Maybe you can tell me more about your little…group of people. I won’t attack them outright anymore, but…if they attack first I will defend myself, I think that’s fair, isn’t it? And the others? The Negaverse Chaos? They’re still free game. They’ve always been free game. Disgusting idiots.”
Angelica took another bite of her chicken and looked at Sappho for a long moment. “...You know, I…I am sorry that I had to do this…but…I’m sure it will be worth it in the end..and…I…” She rubbed her hand over her face, dragging a little bit of buffalo sauce with it and hissing as it got into her eye. “...damn. ******** okay.” Swiping her other arm across her face she managed to erase her mess before it got to be too noticeable. “...I’m sorry. I am being an a**.”

Sappho nodded along, slowly. "Yeah, next week," she agreed. God, it would be like a standing date--one day a week spent in the company of someone who was threatening to do harm to people she cared about.
She....would figure something out.
"You know, you....didn't really have to do this," she said, softly. "We could have figured something out. But for now, I....we'll do it your way. And I don't care what you do to the Negaverse, they suck."
She took a bite of mac and cheese.
"How long are we gonna stay up here?"

Angelica hesitated. “...What could we have figured out? You rejected me once and…I don’t know…I just.” God. She sounded like a creepy neckbeard and…she hated it. “We can go back down if you want…you can keep the food, I’m not really hungry anymore so.”
She swiftly packed everything back up and pushed the basket to Sappho. “So yeah…I’ll keep kicking the Negaverse’s a** and I’ll play nice with your guys and…happily ever after. The end.”
Running a hand through her hair, Angelica took hold of Sappho’s shoulder and brought them back to the city, not caring…not…
Honestly not feeling much of anything. “See you later, pretty girl.” Hesitating for a moment, she pressed a soft kiss to the Senshi’s cheek and then darted off into the night, unwilling to prolong the awkwardness for one moment longer.
