Drako Damone

The lights in the arena dim down as Ain't About the Money hits the PA.

Ahhhh, ahhhh
Ahhhh, ahhhh

blue and white lights begin to flash while a thin layer of smoke comes across the stage and down the ramp. Flames spring up along the set and the crowd's reaction is mixed, though the boos seem to drown out whatever cheers remain.

If you know like I know say
Ain't about the money, it's about the power (say)
Ain't about the money, it's about the power (you know like I know say)
Ain't about the money, it's about the power (say)
Ain't about the money, it's about the power

An opening appears in the stage and this time, a larger platform rises up, revealing not only the champion, but the newly formed tag team, the Syndicate. The reaction is much louder now, definitely all boos. The three remain on the stage, the champion holding the title belt on his shoulder. This time, all three are in suits instead of their ring gear

Think about it, think about it
Ain't no need to think about it
Get that Money, keep that power
No they not the same thing
Money can be anybody
This somebody, that nobody
When it comes to power
Circle, super small and maintain
Money make em' do it cause of what you give to em'
Power make em' do it cause you told them to do it
Money make you fly, power never die, don't know why
Money can be lost, power never need an alibi
Blood thicker than the champagne
Power in my pride, power in my last name

As the chorus hits again, Drako steps forward to lead the way down the ramp to the ring.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the World Heavyweight champion, Drako Damone, and the Syndicate!!"

All three men stop at the end of the extremely long ramp and look around the arena for a few more moments before Drako turns and walks up the stairs and into the ring, taking the championship back in hand as he does. He walks across the ring and steps onto the bottom rope, one foot on the second rope as he raises the title to the loudly booing fans. He steps down and walks to the opposite side to do the same.

When I'm in your presence you can feel the power
Even if this company was built from powder
Girls, kissin, on the couch, women, in the, shower
Surround, myself with kings, you can keep the cowards
Everytime I reminisce, I'm reppin' different bitches
Blood is thicker than water but BS is the thickest
Let the chain round my neck tell my life story
Born into the money but would die for glory
Get ready for the takeover, that face, lip and makeover
That case, that I break open, that great fifth like Beethoven
If you, wanna get it poppin', I can be in the team
Thirty-four, in a, rocket cause Hakeem's the dream
(Get it? They don't get it)

Drako steps down and signals to the boys to enter the ring. Both step up onto the apron and through the ropes to enter the ring.

Oooh, we're makin' moves
You're only doing what my power let you do
You see that money isn't everybody's thing
When it comes to power, can only be one king

The song goes back into the hook as Marcus takes up a position on Drako's right and Blaze to his left. The champion has a mic in hand and lets the song play on, with a reason. The music he'd been using for the past several years had an explanation in it if one listened, but eventually the lights come back up and the music dies out. It takes several more moments for the boos to begin to die down

JR: Times have certainly changed. Prior to last week these fans went wild for the champion. But after last week's heinous assault on Nuke Fusion, these fans don't seem too fond of the champion.

King: Screw the fans, JR. I like this side of the champion.

Drako raises the mic to speak at last. "It sounds like you all have a little problem with me."

Boos rain down again, and the champion smirks.

"Awww, is this because of last week? Do you all not like seeing Nuke Fusion left a bloody mess in the center of the ring?"

The champion again pauses for the fan reaction.

"Oh my, how times have changed. Before Nuke left here, you hated him. You booed him out of every building. You cheered when my big brother beat him at Wrestlemania. I guess time dims the memory, because you all forgot that Nuke Fusion was the lowest of the low, the dirtiest of the dirty. He'd sooner spit on you all than speak to you. But I'm the problem for dishing out a little of his own medicine to him?"

This time, the champion outright laughs at the crowd booing him.

"You see boys, this is why I couldn't bring myself to feel bad if I wanted to. But allow me to break it down for all the slow and simple fans in attendance. Last week, JR implied that I had changed somehow. In fact, he wanted to know why."

Drako looks over to the announcer's desk.

"Well JR, I'm going to tell you why, damn it, why. It's very simple. I don't like Nuke Fusion. I've never liked Nuke Fusion. I never will like Nuke Fusion. For him to pop his pale faced a** up here in my arena and think that he can just waltz up and gain a shot at the title that I've returned to a level of prestige that makes every single wrestler in the back want it is an insult. I turned back the challenge of Bison, Luca Leone, and Dean Johnson. I've been out here week after week dealing with an employer who dislikes me simply because my brothers had fun smacking him around for a decade. I beat back his family, dealt with whatever random group of people he threw at me to take this title off me. I have gone out every show and proved why I am the best wrestler alive today, but Nuke Fusion comes back at Wrestlemania, then at Backlash thinks he deserves a shot at the gold?"

Drako looks back and forth between the two big man.

"Did that make any sense to you two?"

Marcus shakes his head.

"It made no sense to me either. So I thought it was time to remind Nuke and everyone else who I really am. Not just the show stealing Soaring Dragon. I'm the Harbinger of Destruction, a name my big brother gifted me without understanding what it would mean to him in the long run. I am the man who yanked away control of the Damone family legacy from it's patriarchs. I am the man who orchestrated the retirement of both Jarel and Zarel Damone. I took the spot as head of the family."

More boos simply amuse the champion.

"What? Do I need to spell it out some more? The Damone family operates on our own honor code. And years ago, it was dictated to me by my brothers that if there ever came a day where they needed to stop but couldn't do it on their own, it was up to me to put them down or have them put down. So I did. But you see, at the time, I was busy running my own company. I couldn't just walk out and put them down myself. No, I had to do it a different way. So I went to my nephews and I planted the seeds. It was time for the Dragon and the Monster to be slain. Pulled a few strings, triggered a few tempers and now, they're done. And I'm at the head of the family. But this meant some changes had to be made. How could I best guide the next generation to make their own mark? It was time for some rebranding. I've been working on this for years. Training again with Marcus. Training my own son here, Blaze. It's time to run this family like what it really always was. A business, a brand, an organization of specially trained individuals that do so much more when they come together. Thus the Syndicate was born."

The champion let that bit of information sink in for a few moments before he continued.

"You know, I changed my music a few years ago and you all just bumped it without paying attention. So let me line it out for you, the Damones have money. More money than we honestly need. And yes, we're going to continue to get that, but what I found was much more important was power. And no, not the tag team Power. I'm talking about the power to make things happen. To change things as we see fit. What's that line in my song say? Money make em' do it cause of what you give to em' Power make em' do it cause you told them to do it. The past seven months here have been a bit of a reminder of the power behind my last name. Unlike Jarel and Zarel, unlike Janelle, I've decided to use it. Every move I've made, from taking over WCWG and rebranding it to the GWA, to winning the World Heavyweight title here, it's been me using that power. How do you think I went from narrowly losing in the tournament opening round to Salem to challenging the guy that beat Salem and beating him for the World Heavyweight championship? The power in my last name."

JR: I can't believe this. Do you mean to tell me that Drako has been manipulating things behind the scenes ever since the WWFG returned?

King: It sounds like he's been manipulating things longer than that.

The champion isn't done yet. "Let's be honest, did you really think after I beat Cartwright at his own game that he would give me a world heavyweight title match without some prodding? Have you ever known him not to be a spiteful b*****d? A word or two after that match in the right ears was all it took. The meeting at Wrestlemania to negotiate Marcus' return? Did you honestly think Jarel arranged it? Nope, that was me. I just let him handle it so I could focus on beating Dean in the main event. The only thing I didn't arrange was Bison handing Salem his own a** to keep him away from the title, but it certainly worked out well for me, didn't it? I took advantage of that loss of his in the finals. I took advantage of the fact that Bison had him distracted. I took advantage of him being injured and having to retrain himself to get back in ring shape for Wrestlemania. I took the time to train myself up. I took the time to make sure Marcus was in the right shape and I made sure Blaze, my son, was ready to come out here and start making his name. But the wrench in it all, was Nuke Fusion."

chants for Nuke break out and Drako looks around the arena.

"You can chant all you want, but Nuke Fusion ain't gonna be here tonight. See, the first problem was Nuke coming to Wrestlemania, trying to hog some spotlight. Not to worry, I knew what I was going to do in that main event. But then, he has a little run in backstage with Jarel. Gets a little nostalgia pop. You all think maybe the Dragon is going to come out of retirement and give you another classic with Nuke. But no, instead, they passed it to the next generation. And Marcus?"

Marcus raises an eyebrow, surprised to be called out at this moment.

"Damn good work putting the Fusion brat down. You did exactly what you were called to do and reminded Nuke why the Damones are better than the Fusions. Meanwhile, I went on to main event and retain my title a second time at Wrestlemania. Granted, this time, there was no money in the bank winner to come cash in on me afterward, but the important part is the win, and the title reign continues. But once we got to Backlash, ah, there was that old Nuke Fusion. He calls me out here to congratulate me but we all knew deep down what it was. He wanted to jump the line to get a title shot. So I give him a match, Cartwright decides it's nontitle, and what does Nuke do? Goes back to his old ways. He couldn't beat me clean. He had to roll me up with his foot on the ropes to put me down. And i admit, I might have overreacted."

JR: Overreacted? You and your family, this Syndicate, beat that man bloody! You beat him unconscious and left him laying in the middle of the ring!

King: Calm down JR, before they come beat you unconscious.

Drako notices JR getting animated and walks over to lean on the ropes nearest the announcer's table.

"Does that bother you JR? Does seeing Nuke Fusion a bloody mess here in this ring piss you off?" Drako points out to the fans. "Did that piss all of you off?"

several chants break out, including some more profane ones not fit for television.

"Well get used to it, bitches. Because from now on, me and my Syndicate are going to do more of it. Whenever we want, to whoever we want. And JR can sit his a** at that desk and call me everything but a child of god every single show if he wants. There's not a damn thing he can do to stop me. King ain't gonna try to stop me. Nuke's probably still in his hospital bed and if he knows what's good for him, he'll stay there. His brat couldn't get past Marcus at Wrestlemania. He's not gonna stop us. Not a damn soul in that locker room is going to stop us. Because the next goal, is to add more gold. And that's what Blaze and Marcus are working on here tonight. They won their tag match last week. They're going to do the same tonight. The Syndicate is going to hold all the gold here because we can. We're Damones. And all the rest of you can do is sit there and watch while you b***h behind your keyboards and lament that you couldn't do what we do even if we left this place today and never came back. But newsflash, we're not going anywhere and this title ain't going anywhere."

Drako resumes his place between his nephew and son.

"I'm ready for whoever and whatever comes my way. Because the Syndicate can do what we did to Nuke to anyone at any time. Whether it's one of us or all three of us, we're taking payments in blood."

Drako raises the title belt and lets the boos deafen the arena as the fans realize he's yet to clean Nuke's blood off of the title belt

JR: I can't believe it. This sick son of a ....

King: Jesus JR, could you at least wait until they're gone? You bleed like a stuck pig and you saw what they did to Nuke last show? Don't make them come over here
