As time passed Enya was finding herself more and more at ease in Zinris. It had been a harder adjustment than she'd prepared for, but the longer she spent with her Elarian family the easier her days became. Each day Enya spent training with others her own age, as well as learning from her Aunts, and giving her own knowledge to those in the village who wanted to hear it. A stigma clung to her once some of the older, more traditional Elaria found out she was of Pyrrha's blood, though it wasn't one that Enya let define her. She was proud of her mother, both of them actually, and cared for her family deeply. If they wanted to waste their time being snooty then she would try that much harder to ignore them. After her morning work had finished, Enya snuck off for a bit of fishing. The river that ran closest to the village was just far enough out that she could take a little time to empty her mind and find herself. Also, if she were lucky, she might spot something really weird. Like some of those creatures that roamed around the mists with horns on their heads and teeth the size of her hand!

The trip to Zinris was long, and stressful if Elsheba was honest. Even the brief break in Matori to enjoy the sun had done little to boost her morale, so even though Elsheba had been in Zinris for a number of days she hadn't gone looking for Lumikani just yet. The elders knew of her reason for being here and had graciously afforded her room and board with an Alkidike couple her age, with the vague suggestion that she finish her business quickly and move on, if she had no intention of staying permanently.
Reuniting with Nimueh had been heart wrenching enough; seeing her little sister? Who was apparently now the matriarch of a number of descendents?
Impossible. So she fled to the edge of the settlement, where if she closed her eyes the babbling of the river just barely reminded her of back home. Until, of course, she walked far enough she caught an Aishan fishing. NOT and Elaria, like one would expect, but one of the younger treeborn. The Elidae. "Good catches?" She called, quietly enough to hopefully not distueb the fish.

It was common enough to have others drift come upon her that Enya didn't immediately look up. She'd glanced long enough to distinguish Alkidike legs from, say, an angry predator but once it was determined that she was 'safe' Enya went straight back to her work. Since she wasn't much of a fisher in the pole sense Enya was hip deep in the river itself, adjusting her traps and checking on those she'd left from the night before.
"I think it's o-fish-ially going to be a good morning." When she lifted one of the heftier traps out of the water, Enya balanced the contraption on her hip and dug into it with her free hand. Not one, but two fish came from the haul and she happily tossed them to shore. Of course, as she did so, she caught a good look at the speaker and-
"Oh! OH!" The younger Elidae stumbled a bit, very nearly dropping her trap. "Your face!"

(2/10) Thankfully, the girl didn't jolt or react badly to her presence, so Elsheba made herself comfortable and watched. She was an accomplished archer and huntress, but had never been good at fishing so she watched with open curiosity, even if the methods the girl used were based on traps and not spear or fishing pole.
Then, the girl spoke and Elsheba couldn't stop the snort of laughter that left her, grinning at the ridiculous pun. She shifted her arms to politely (but quietly!) clap at the bounty - but stopped mid clap with a furrowed brow when the girl looked up and stumbled. "My... uh." Elsheba lifted her hand to pat at her face, half expecting a wad of mud to be stuck to it based on the girl's reaction, but finding nothing she instead stepped closer to the shore, hitching her skirt up so she could wade closer in case the girl needed help. "What about it? That's not a good way of asking for help, little one!"

Enya's cheeks warmed and her face went from a surprised gasp to an embarrassed chuckle. "S-Sorry! It's just your markings. They remind me of someone and I thought she'd followed me here." The Aishan in question was smaller in build than this woman, but the markings were so similar that she had to wonder if they were related. Maybe a cousin? As far as she knew all of Enya's kin on that side of the family had left Zinris at the same time, but maybe they were wrong?
"I'm fine though, really; don't need any help with the traps." She bent at the knee, fully heedless of just how much the river swamped her for a moment as she adjusted the trap back into the water. "But-" Enya reached down all the way until her shoulder was swallowed by water before pulling her arm free. In her hand, pinched between her fingers, was a little crustacean. "-You can help me look for these if you want. They're not much to look at, but if you get enough you can boil them and it's pretty tasty."

(3/10) Her markings? Elsheba looked at the girl with renewed curiosity, even if a bit of her nervousness came back through. Did this girl know someone from her sister's family, she wondered? Before she could think too hard on it, the girl was ducking down to reset her traps, and Elsheba laughed again, shaking her head. "That's for the best, I know nothing about traps." She said with a lopsided little smile as she waded in deeper, not caring about getting her dress wet. She'd left her gauntlets and mantle back in the place she was staying, so she didn't worry about ruining her usual wooden accessories.
"Well. I ought to be of some use while I'm visiting." Elsheba sighed, peering through the murky water.
"I do have family here, but - I've not met most of them. I'm not sure if they inherited the family markings or not."

By the time Enya had resurfaced, the water lapping at her midsection, her dreads hung in thick and wet down her back. When she flipped a few away from her face they landed onto her shoulder with a hearty 'thwack'. Some of the flowers that normally adorned them had washed away with the current, though those at the tippy top of her space buns seemed intact.
"That's really sweet of you." She smiled and motioned to a closed basket she'd sat atop a nearby stone. "If you catch any would you mind putting them in there? So long as the lids shut they can't climb out." While she knew her Aunt's family would be happy enough for the fish Enya wanted to surprise them with a little more for letting her stay.
"So you're visiting family? So am I. I'm staying with my Aunts - Pruu and Akeldama- for a while. Who are you here to see?"

(4/10) It was heartening, to see the younger generation working so hard, even in what could ostensibly be considered somewhat dirty circumstances. The younger woman's carefully tended to dreads were losing some of their floral styling but she didn't so much as blink an eye.
"If I catch any." Elsheba murmured, almost to herself, as she blindly felt along the water. She imagined she was unknowingly crushing more of the crustaceans beneath her feet than she would catch. She tilted her head towards the girl as she called out names she didn't recognize. Pruu... Akeldama. Pretty names, but Zayana hadn't listed them among the few names she'd shared of her family.
"Zayana. Or... she invited me, at least, but I'm here to see my sister, her mother, Lumikani." She said the names slowly, watching the girl for a response. She didn't know or suspect that they were related, the markings didn't look similar in the least, but from what Zayana had said her sister's line was... prolific, to say the least. At the very least this young Aishan might know of them?

"The trick is to spook them. Let the water calm around you; if it's too murky you can't see and wait." As she spoke Enya was working through the steps herself. The water of Yael was far from clear anyway, but after a few days of figuring it out she was confident in her approach. "When you find one cup your hand a little bit behind their butt and shuffle your foot infront of them. They'll get scared, shoot back and boom-" She raised her hand, with the little river bug in hand, and smiled, "-Got'em."
Enya slowly walked along the river bed so as not to disturb the silt until she was next to her basket and lifted the lid. She'd happily dropped her find into it when the Alkidike started speaking and a squeak exited her mouth. "Lumikani?" Oh, now there was a name! "I didn't know she was here; the last time I saw her she was back in Kiros. Have you met with her yet?"

(5/10) Elsheba watched her, curious as she worked, and when she finally caught the little bugger Elsheba cracked a smile and bobbed her head approvingly, already peering through the water for another one.
Or. That was the plan, until the stranger squeaked and repeated her sister's name excitedly. Though... uh. Kiros? Elsheba squinted her eyes at her, frowning, as she tried to remember those maps Zayana had showed her. "I thought she was in Zinris." She said, slowly, thinking back to her conversation with Zayana. Because she'd said- hadn't she?
'Oh, she has a partner. Zandala. Both of them are on Kiros now, living the retired life as they help a new generation bloom.'
Zayana lived in Zinris. With her daughter.
Lumikani lived in Kiros - the only tree that Elsheba had managed NOT to visit on her whirlwind trip across the world. Slowly, the older Aishan slipped down into the water until it was just below her nose, very barely resisting the catastrophic urge to throw her hands, to shout, or to splash or punch the water as she realized she was across the world and would have to get BACK on a ship. She managed not to scream but, instead, blew a flurry of bubbles from her nose and dunked her head under the water, very briefly tempted to drown herself in her embarrassment.

When she was squinted at Enya couldn't help squinting in return, though with a slightly confused quirk of a brow. "Is she...supposed to be? She used to live here, long before I bloomed, but she hasn't in many, many years." Her hand stilled atop the basket, allowing the tension of the moment to settled until the Alkidike started to slip further and further into the water...
"Oh, oh, hang on." Enya wasn't sure what to expect - maybe she was frustrated or just trying to drown herself, she'd seen weirder - but she didn't want to risk it. When she was close enough the elidae adjusted her legs so that she was infront of the alkidike and reached over to put her hands just underneath her pits to lift her. She wouldn't be able to hoist the other woman completely out of the water, but if she could at least make sure she was breathing that was good enough.
"It's okay; it's alright. You just got a little turned around. The goddesses sent you here for a reason instead of straight to your sister so you just need to find out why." And drowning yourself won't help. "In the meantime how about you tell me about Zayana? And Nayyara? How were they?" .

(6/10) Well. At least it wasn't a case of Lumikani always being in Kiros, and Elsheba messing up that badly. If she wanted to preserve some pride she could lie and say she'd heard, long ago, that Lumikani was here. It was better than admitting that she'd been told exactly where to go, and still managed to go the opposite direction! Thankfully, the girl had some pity on Elsheba and hurried to try and make her feel better, and it was that that knocked through Elsheba's skull enough to settle her nerves a bit.
She let herself be pulled up, standing back up out of the water again, though she felt she could afford to wallow in her self pity for at least a BIT longer.
"They were... Zayana was a sweet girl." Elsheba said, distractedly, her own age making it difficult to remember that Zayana herself was an older member of Lumikani's family, with children (did she have grandchildren??) of her own, full grown. "I didn't get to meet Nayyara yet- wait. Are you friends of Nayyara?"

Hearing her Aunt described as a sweet girl brought a light chuckle out of Enya. It made her think of her strong, adventurous Auntie as a little youngling or something, though to this woman maybe she was? "I'm actually her cousin. Zayana has a sister - Kanika - and she's my mother. I'm Lumikani's grand-daughter, Enya."
If she'd been upset about hearing just how far away her sister was then Enya wasn't sure how she was going to handle this. Hopefully since she knew about Nayyara then she wouldn't think it was so odd? Still, Enya kept an eye on her just incase she decided to go down again.

(7/10) Elsheba blinked, more of that panic ebbing away as they spoke, at least at first. As the girl introduced herself, and illuminated how they were related, Elsheba stared openly at her, but then remembered to smile, because poor Zayana - Elsheba had been so awestruck at meeting someone related to her little sister that she, in hind-sight, realized her reception of the woman had been rather poor. She was here to reconnect with her family, not to alienate them further with chilly introductions!
"Enya." She said, warmly as she could, even if her nerves made her tone wobble just a bit. Enya, her little sister's grand daughter. It was... strange to be learning so much from her own great-neice, but there you go. "Well - if the goddesses sent me here, maybe it was to meet more of my family, hmm? I'm Elsheba. Your grandmother is my little sister." And how strange a thought was that? Lumikani, small in stature as she was, was little to Elsheba more because their age difference was sizeable, enough that her once-adopted son was only a few years younger than Lumikani herself. "I haven't seen her since ... well. Since before the tree here was even planted, if you can believe it."

"Elsheba," Her tone was softer, but no less warm. When she'd been younger she found out that her grandmother had sisters, but beyond that information was limited. Mama Pyrrha had been the one to kindly inform her that sometimes the past should remain hidden and if it was meant to be spoken of it would come around on it's own. Maybe this is what she meant?
"That's a long time to go without your sister, but I know things were...different then." To Enya it was history, but to those that came before her it was life. There had been a war, a separation, and families had been divided for a very long time. "...I have an idea, but I want to know something first. If she were standing here instead of me, what would you do? Would you be angry with her or would you talk to her?"
