Doesina 1 Cradling her bought potion as if she expected her grandmother to pop out from behind a tree and scold her for buying something so silly, Doesina left the city for the solitude of the forest, a place that always felt much more comfortable to her than a crowded settlement ever did. Though the sun was hidden as it always was behind the tall canopy of Jauhar's woods, she judged by the angle of the shadows she could see, and where she thought west and east were, that she still had a few hours before the sun set fully and she'd be able to see the full effects of the potion she had just purchased. She couldn't wait to see the markings on her body glowing in the darkness and wave them around to see what patterns in the air she could make. For the next few hours until the shadows lengthened, she paced, holding the precious bottle in both hands. Tipping it back and forth to watch the liquid traveling back and forth. As soon as it was dark enough, she downed it and waited.
Nothing happened. At least nothing she could see. Perhaps it just took a while. So she waited. After a while of waiting, the Elaria started to feel an unsettling feeling inside her torso, like her insides had suddenly decided to wage war with each other. This felt familiar. Like when she'd eaten that bad batch of stew from a neighbor back home when she was still a child. And sure enough, her suspicions proved correct when one second her last meal was still sitting in her stomach and the next, it was not. Hands over her stomach, she kneeled down on the ground, pulling a nearby cloak over her shoulders to keep out the sudden chill.
She had been sold a bad potion. Or it had never been good to begin with and she'd been scammed. Either way, Doesina spent a very restless night catching what little bits of sleep she could in between being sick. When morning dawned, she rose her weak and aching muscles and made back for Neued, to complain to the woman and get her money back. If she was even still there. More than likely, she was not, having sold something as bad as that to an Elaria of all people.
The city in sight, so close she felt like she could almost touch it, the woman slumped her shoulder against a tree, exhausted from the long walk and the lack of sleep. At least she wasn't heaving anymore. That was something to be happy about, at least.

Another busy day was ahead of her to help grow her savings for traveling. Vilasini hummed happily as she skipped through the forest towards Neued, the hybrid eager to get to work on earning more savings to tuck away into the jar that she hid for safe keeping back at home. Others would probably have tried to figure out something more complex, but Sini trusted no one to really bother with her little home just outside of Neued. Her guardian had a fearsome image after all and only a fool would want to face his wrath! Even if he was currently away for another week because of work, not that anyone else knew that really. Plus, wasn’t it just nifty that a little clay jar used for carrying water could also be tucked perfectly into one of many alcoves of a hollowed tree trunk that was converted into a small home for two? Sini had even dragged some vines down across it to blend in with everything else that was in her section of the home, the colorful beaded curtains giving her some privacy with her futon mattress and other belongings that could fit within the small area comfortably enough hidden from view.
Sini bounced along, her head bobbing as she continued humming a playful melody. “Oh hi there, Doesina.” She murmured as she passed a familiar figure slumped against a tree, the hybrid continuing on for another few steps before pausing and then completely stopping as she realized what she had just stated. Doesina!? She knew that she had been hoping to meet back up with the Elaria, so at first it almost felt like a daydream before she realized that truly had been Doesina back there! Why was she slumped like that? Sini quick turned around and rushed back to the tree, the hybrid reaching out to touch the Elaria’s shoulder with concern. “Are ya just restin’ there?” She breathed, her silver gaze wide with slight panic as she looked over the other woman. Was it just the Elaria skin tone or did she seem pale? “Feelin’ sick?” She didn’t see blood, she had learned to look for that first whenever someone seemed off ever since Rek came back that one night completely torn up, so that was a relief but something still seemed off and Sini couldn’t help but to feel concerned. Either way her daily plans were completely tossed aside without hesitation as she waited to see how Doesina would react, the hybrid honestly bracing herself to help Doesina towards the nearest clinic or even to her own nearby home for some rest until she could figure out what exactly was wrong.

Doesina 2 Doesina had closed her eyes, resolved to falling asleep against the comfort of the tree. Maybe she'd eventually fall to the ground, where she could nestle in a comfortable spot among the exposed roots, making a little bed for herself while she slept off the illness that had plagued her all night and left her feeling so weak. It felt so strange to feel like this. To be so vulnerable to the world. Anyone could come up to her and she wouldn't even be able to defend herself. She'd likely just fall over. As she would likely do as soon as she left the support of the tree.
Than a figure did show up. Like a figure appearing out of the fog, Doesina heard someone approaching through the fog in her own brain, dulling her senses. Instinct tried to take over, but she of course found she could barely move. If it was anyone with less than kind motives, she couldn't do anything about it.
Instead, someone spoke, causing her to open her eyes and try to focus her slightly blurry vision on whoever it was. Sounded familiar. Who....
"Ah!" the Elaria responded, a little more loudly than she normally would have. "I know you. Weren't you upside down?" She blinked a few times, shaking her head to try and clear it. Goddess, thinking was difficult. "Bad potion. Really tired. Kind of hungry. Mostly tired."

Vilasini nearly jumped with the sudden exclamation from Doesina. Well! She had been nearly afraid that Doesina was beyond her reach until she finally reacted, but boy did she react and surprise the hybrid. Thought it was a bit disappointing to be remembered as the upside down one. Sini made a face before realizing that Doesina truly did appear to be struggling and her expression softened. “Ya really ingested somethin’ nasty, didn’t ya?” She mused with a thoughtful tilt of her head, the hybrid taking a few slow steps forward before reaching out to touch the back of her hand against Doesina’s forehead. She couldn’t tell if she was simply warm from being in the jungle or if there was more to the warmth that Vilasini felt beneath her hand. Either way she knew that something had to be done and so she moved to try to drap Doesina’s arm around her shoulders. Thankfully Vilasini did have some Aishan heritage despite being so slim, the woman surprisingly stronger than what others would expect from the acrobat, and she could get to her feet with Doesina’s weight against her.
“I gotta get you somewhere safer, okay? Feel like ya can walk alongside of me?” Vilasini asked, her gaze darting around to make certain that they weren’t in any immediate danger. At least she could appreciate that this time neither of them were hanging down for the initial meeting and that there wasn’t any menzuri lurking nearby waiting for a snack. Unfortunately though it didn’t look like any traders were out and about this time of day, not on this particular path at least, and so Vilasini settled for getting Doesina back to her own home. Rek wasn’t home and it wouldn’t be a problem to get her Elarian friend settled on the bed, Vilasini did have similar height and even if she was a bit shorter than Doesina she did have a large bed since she enjoyed the extra space…not like there was much more she could do in the area provided for her other than sleep anyways so why not fill a good portion of the room up with a super comfy bed? “I’m going to try to get us movin’ but I’ll need you to take a couple of steps…ready? One…” Then two, three and however many more it would take for them to reach the home that she shared with Rek. The giant tree was a fine shelter and hopefully there was still enough in the pantry that Vilasini could try cooking with. Doesina had mentioned being hungry after all and Sini was not about to be a bad host.

Doesina 3 Did Doesina have a fever? Even she wouldn't have been able to tell anyone. She felt hot and clammy, but that could have been the sweat freezing on her skin from the workout her stomach had been giving her all night. If the reason she was wobbly was because of a flu, it wasn't the main one and only caused more confusion in her already struggling brain. The heat could have been the jungle. She always felt warm.
"Ah huh," the Elaria responded, the answer sounding more like a child answering a parent when they were being scolded for doing something they knew they shouldn't have done. And she would have received a scolding for not being more careful. Just because she didn't have her grandmother always watching over her, didn't mean Doesina could be lax. She was learning that lesson the hard way. Being here wasn't supposed to be a vacation, an excuse for her to do what she normally wouldn't have been allowed to do back home. "I'm sorry." Who was she apologizing to? Herself? Her family for disobeying them as soon as he was away from them. Sini for potentially being a burden on her. Who knew. Maybe all three. She certainly felt all sorts of guilt and shame.
Another good question was if she could walk the rest of the way. She had walked all the way here by herself and had nearly reached her limit. To test it, she tried to stand up straighter, but flopped back over against the truck of the tree. A little rest and she could probably do it. Maybe she should have said that out loud before she was suddenly being supported by something much softer than the rough bark of a large tree, her arm and body now being partly supported by the hybrid. She was about to protest, assuming she would be too heavy. Instead, she closed her mouth, accepting the help she very clearly needed. There was no one else she could go to. Not unless she could somehow make it to Neued by herself.
"I have no choice, don't I?" She couldn't stay in the forest like this, after all. Taking a deep breath, trying not to lean too much on Sini, the Elaria squinted her eyes and took slow steps forward, following the hybrid's lead on where they were even going. She assumed Neued. Where else could it be? "Thank you for showing up. I might have been stranded."

Vilasini’s gaze softened with concern. This definitely reminded her of that one time when she felt horribly ill and Rek had to carry her home on his shoulders. Of course at the time she was still a young teen and definitely not the size of an adult Elaria like Doesina. She just hoped her friend could help her along since she doubted she had enough strength to carry her or even drag her home for that matter. “No need ta apologize, just focus on one step after another.” She replied with a smile, appearing bright and energetic despite her worry. Like usual she was focused more on being optimistic and encouraged Doesina to keep going forward with her until she could get them to the home she shared with Rek.
“You’re welcome.” Vilasini managed after pausing to catch her breath, the hybrid supporting Doesina the best that she could while she took a moment. They had already walked over half the distance back to her place and Sini was thankful that she didn’t live too horribly far away. She knew Doesina was trying her best to not lean on her, but Sini was glued to the Elaria’s side as a precaution to support her every time she wobbled and it was wearing her down a bit more than expected. Rek truly was onto something about me working more of my…core? She mused, silently mocking her own lack of strength before taking the moment to speak with Doesina now that she had caught her breath. “It’s only fair since you saved me from being a menzuri’s meal, but we really need to meet in a better situation next time. Okay?” She teased lightly. “What possessed you to try to go into Neued? Do you not have someone to care for you back home?” Sini added after a moment, pressing forward again instead of simply waiting for a response since her home was close.
Once they arrived at the larger treehouse, Sini was thankful that Rek had kept part of their home on the ground level to avoid having to climb so much like other Shifters in the area with their homes nestled in the upper branches of the great trees. It made it a lot easier for her to guide Doesina inside, the hybrid shoving the door open with a bump of her hip as she navigated the furnishings that made up the smaller living space and kitchen to get to her bedroom. “Feel free to lay down here. I’ll make you something to eat.” She offered, showing Doesina the sleeping area hidden behind the beaded curtains where a plush bed with a pile of pillows awaited her.

Doesina 4 Easier said than done. Doesina tried her best to follow the path of each foot, but she feared she was relying far too much on the support of the other woman than she would have wanted. Which would have been none. She didn't like to be an inconvenience for others. Unfortunately, when she put more weight on her unsupported side to give Sini a break, her wobble was more apparent, nearly causing her to start swaying towards the ground before she could right herself.
Walking was real hard when you were exhausted and your stomach still felt like it was doing tiny somersaults. At least she was sure the worst of it was over. An entire night had made sure of that.
"I'm still sorry," she mumbled, pale eyes narrowed as she watched her feet. She was trusting Sini completely in her ability to guide her correctly. "I would have liked to meet you again, but not like this. I am a mess." A yawn split her face than, causing her jaw to crack slightly. It brought her head up enough to see the house they seemed to be heading towards. She wouldn't complain. She didn't know if she, even with support, could make it the rest of the way to Neued and find a healer.
"Home is....In Yael. Kind of far." She chuckled a little at her attempted joke. She went silent afterwards, back to focusing hard on her steps until her antenna hit something in front of her. She looked up to see a door, opening to reveal the inside of a small home. Cozy, which she would have said so if she wasn't so distracted with walking. Doesina collapsed onto the bed, barely able to hold herself up any longer. "Ah, Sini. You're so nice. Food sounds great. I'll just rest my eyes..." And that was what she intended to do. Soon enough, she was asleep.

"Tsk, you should be saving your energy and not apologizing. You'll waste your breath that way." Teased Vilsaini lightly even as Doesina called herself a mess, the hybrid nearly pausing so that she could shoot the Elidae a look but instead focusing on the path ahead to avoid accidentally tripping them both up. She had to focus or else they would both fall with how Doesina was wobbling here and there! Still, it didn't stop her from somewhat protesting at Doesina's commentary. "Mess or not, you're still a good sight to behold. I'm happy to see you either way." And it was really true! Even though Sini did wish that it had been under better circumstances, it would be a lie to say that she wasn't delighted by simply seeing Doesina again. Plus, she had felt bad about the menzuri situation and was always taught to repay favors, so she was determined to do her best today!
Sini opened her mouth and then closed it again at the mention of Yael. She did say home, after all, so technically Doesina was simply replying to her statement about home and not mocking her. "Fair enough." She managed after a moment, as she helped Doesina into her home and watched the Elidae collapsed onto her bed. At least she had made it. It looked like it had been a close one! How sick was Doesina? Worry knotted her stomach, the hybrid simply nodding as she allowed the beaded curtains to sway behind her as she went back towards the kitchen. "Alright, I can do this." She placed her hands on her hips, the slender woman studying the cabinets and the small stone oven. What could she make that was edible and wouldn't risk burning down the place? Sini usually grabbed fruits and such while she was in the Neued markets, but it was rare that she made a warm meal save for whenever Rek was home. Let's be glad that grandmama taught me some recipes. She mused, stretching out her arms before her and twisting her fingers together to crack the joints there in preparation for the task ahead. That felt so much better after clutching onto Doesina during their walk, the hybrid being tense with concern before finally making it here where she could relax a bit more.
There were some oats, some wild fruits and berries from the nearby jungle in a bowl and fresh water from a nearby spring in several jugs. Getting the kindling to start burning in the stone oven, Sini opened the window carved within the tree to vent out the smoke, and then she grabbed the one cast iron pan that they had. As it heated, the hybrid diced up the fruits and berries and set them to the side, and then once the pan felt hot enough she tossed in the oats with some water and ground rock salt. "Alright, no problem." Picking up a wooden spoon, Sini tapped it in the air like she was counting as she waited a few seconds before stirring the mixture and continued watching it until it bubbled and thickened into something that looked more akin to porridge. The whole time she simply bounced from foot to foot before stirring some more, keeping it from burning while keeping an eye on the kindling until the flames died out and the porridge was finished. To finish everything she added some heavy cream and the diced fruits and berries with some honey added to the concoction, the hope that adding such things would make it easier on Doesina's throat and stomach. Sini scooped the mixture up into one of their wooden bowls, the smooth bowl the perfect size to hold everything that she made. While she left it steaming by the stove, Sini placed two rolls from earlier that week on the still warm pan and hoped that would be enough to toast them in case Doesina wanted some bread to scoop up the porridge with instead of simply eating with a spoon. Everything was placed on a cutting board, Sini hoping to use that to carry it into the bedroom, but for now she simply left it there to cool and went to check on Doesina without the food in hand.
"Hey." She called out quietly before walking towards the edge of the bed, Sini perching there as she studied Doesina. "Do you think you can wake up and eat?" She asked softly, her hand reaching out after a moment to gently touch Doesina's shoulder. Did she feel awfully warm still? Vilasini chewed the inside of her cheek thoughtfully, concern written in her expression as she studied her friend. If that fever didn't break by early afternoon then she was going to have to find a healer in Neued. For now though she was just focused on trying to get Doesina to eat so that she could try to have something in her stomach while she rested.

Doesina 5 Whether that was a long time for a nap or not, it hardly mattered. At the rate of exhaustion the Elaria had been in, even ten minutes of sleep would have done her a lot of good. Coupled with the soft bed underneath her body, she went into a deep slumber, deaf to everything that was going on outside the room she was in.
Unless she was touched. Doesina came alive, startling awake as if she expected an ambush, her eyes opened wide. A sleeping warrior always alert to danger. But that was as far as the comparison went. Instead of reaching to her belt for a dagger, she reached above her head with both arms, stretching like a cat right after a good nap, looking at the hybrid with her usual smile on her face.
"I appreciate the use of your bed. I was interested in it, but not quite like this." Her bright hands instantly moved to her mouth. covering her giggling. "I'm sorry. That was unnaturally salacious of me. I couldn't resist, considering...." She wiggled her body as if to emphasize the fact, than gave a great yawn, her jaw cracking under the strain. Her arms slung baack down to her sides, one crawling across her body as she shifted to her side, stiffly sitting up. More stiff than usual. "Is it warmer in here than usual or is that just your presence?" Did that sound like another flirt? Yes. Was it intentional? Not really. She did indeed feel a bit warmer and, considering the last, and first, time she had met with Sini had been rather heated, she wasn't sure what exactly might be causing it.

Honestly, Vilasini realized a moment too late that she perhaps should have considered the consequences of touching a sleeping Aishan but thankfully Doesina simply stretched instead of anything else. Even Rek was dangerous whenever he was suddenly woken out of a deep slumber, but Sini had simply been too concerned with Doesina's well being to even worry about such things. Of course her mind couldn't focus on the dangers of that when Doesina managed to still flirt despite everything, Sini's cheeks flushing at the very insinuation as her mind went momentarily blank. Oh, oh! Shaking her head slightly she let out a chuckle. "It's fine, honestly. I just wasn't expecting it....you like to keep me on my toes even like this." She joked back with a grin. "Hard to keep my balance as a performer when someone keeps trying to make me fall for them this much."
Another chuckle escaped her as she shook her head at Doesina's antics. "It's warm in here because I just cooked and you're unwell. Though there's a bit of hot air being blown about." She teased before tilting her head, studying Doesina before daring to reach out a hand to touch against her forehead. She was still flushed, potentially warm from either being in the nest of blankets and pillows that made up Sini's bed, or simply from being unwell. Either way Sini was worried about Doesina's health despite her teasing, the hybrid trying to focus on the task at hand even though she was flustered from the flirting. Admittedly though it secretly delighted her to hear it, but she would prefer to hear it from a not feverish Doesina. "Alright, let's try to get something in your stomach that isn't some foul potion." She managed after another moment, patting Doesina's hand before brushing through the beaded curtains to go gather the wooden tray with its bowl of porridge and rolls.
"Okay, I present to you a Vilasini Special." Sini grinned as she plopped down next to Doesina and presented the tray. "Can you manage to feed yourself or should I help out?"

Doesina 6 Why was Sini going red? Had her outfit twisted while she was sleeping? It wasn't like there was ever much to them. Doesina always had a habit of preferring something very light and easily thrown over her head, held together by ropes around her waist. Made her feel more free than close-fitted clothing did, allowing for more comfortable movement. But also allowing for lots of accidents if she moved a little too much. She didn't think she'd been asleep long enough for that to happen. Nonetheless, she looked down at herself, adjusting the low neckline. Nope. Nothing had popped out. So what was--
Oh. It finally hit her what she'd said. In her sick-addled brain, the Elaria had been just talking and not really paying as much attention to the words. Her own cheeks flushed as she looked back up, her hands dropping back to her lap. She hadn't meant to say that like that. Not that it was entirely a lie, but she'd still just been trying to make a joke. A very lewd joke for her usual standards. Unless the other person had made hints they enjoyed lewd jokes, than she was game for it. Her hybrid friend, however, seemed a lot more on the innocent side. What was it she complimented on Doesina before? Her arms?
"That's still much more....Than I usually joke..." she continued to apologize. "Not that it was purely a joke....Uh...." She raised her hands up, waving them around before settling them back on her thighs, leaning her head a bit forward as the fever started making things feel too warm, a single dread falling over her shoulder. "Foot in mouth. I really enjoyed our time before, is what I was saying. Wasn't trying to make you fall for me, but you know....Wouldn't I be good balance practice, than," she added, teasing and giggling.
"I guess I am unwell," she finally admitted, trying to sit up straighter. She brought her legs out from underneath her, sitting on the edge of the bed with them stretched out in front of her. With another yawn, she stretched her arms once more, feeling a tiny bit of dizziness enter her head at the motion. She sat still, hands on the bed to steady her own balance as she waited patiently for Sini to return with whatever she had made. She scooted her position around when she returned, trying to get the most comfortable. "Special, huh? What'd you make me?" Though she tried her best to have some dignity, Doesina's stomach had other ideas at the smell of the food, giving a large growl that made her cheeks color, again. She laughed lightly at herself to hide the embarrassment and also because it had been kind of funny. "I think you've done enough. I should be able to manage. Unless you want to do that." Picking up the spoon, she dipped it in, taking enough on it that it wouldn't spill as she lifted it to her mouth. "Oh! Very good."

"The best balance practice with how wobbly you are at the moment."" Vilasini couldn't help but to chuckle, her shoulders relaxing even as her face stayed slightly flushed from the teasing. If anything Doesina was sick so she got a free pass for this one, not that Sini was complaining since she was truly enjoying the attention even if it had slightly flustered her at first. She was always an attention grabber, a social butterfly who made friends with everyone in the market but this was the first time that someone had honestly flirted so openly with her like this. And so many flirtatious comments coming from a very attractive Elaria at that? It made her feel butterflies! Or was that her concern making her stomach flutter like this since Doesina was ill? She hadn't taken care of anyone since her gramma passed years ago, so maybe it was just the pressure. Not that she minded! She just wanted Doesina to feel better soon. Either way she had to focus on helping Doesina and not on how attractive she was or how she had rearranged things earlier or those flirty comments or anything like that. And here I am staring again. Sini was thankful she had the tray of food that she could stare at instead, her gaze darting down towards it as she offered the tray to Doesina.
"Unwell and hungry it seems." Sini joked as she settled on the edge of the bed next to Doesina, keeping an eye on her as she took the food. "Just some porridge with fruits, something that should be light on your stomach." Sini replied with a small smile, the hybrid giving a slight shake of her head at the teasing. "As tempting as the idea is, I figure you better handle it yourself. I don't want to accidently over feed you and have you feel worse." Her expression did brighten at the praise, Sini obviously perking up at the sound of it since she was proud of her cooking. "Oh good! I was hoping it would be something decent, at least better than that potion you tried. What did you even try anyways?" She had been so focused on helping Doesina out that she hadn't taken the time to think about it. All she had said was bad potion, right? It was hard not to be curious, especially if it had made her so sick like this.

Doesina 7 "I don't hear much complaining about it, though," she teased back, leaning towards the hybrid a little too far for her body to current support. One hand quickly placed on the bed helped her to right herself and she shifted her position, trying to keep her back as straight as she could so she would hopefully wobble less. More sleep would be needed before she could even sit up properly. Having not noticed any staring while she had been pre-occupied with herself, Doesina merely smiled as she balanced the tray as easily as she could on her thighs, using one hand to hold it while the other stirred around the porridge. "Sorry. Miss Sini is right. I will try to behave myself." She gave a side-long glance, turning her head just slightly. Not that the appraising look would have been all that obvious with her Aishan eyes, but considering how the previous conversation had been going, perhaps not as inconspicuous as she was clearly not trying to be.
"Very," the Elaria agreed, her head now turned down towards the bowl, all her concentration clearly on lifting the spoon to her mouth. Some of her politely was forgotten in the aroma and taste of the delicious meal and she spoke around spoonful's of it. She hadn't been able to keep anything inside her stomach for what must have been a full day and night by now. "Can't remember the last time I felt so weak." It wasn't natural for an Elaria to be weak. Her grandmother would have been so disappointed in her for letting her guard down. "I should be fine after some rest." As if to emphasize this, Doesina took a deep breath, already feeling the sleepiness approaching as her stomach was slowly filled. "Somehow, I'm not sure you could make me feel bad." She darted another quick glance at Sini, a sly smile on her face. It wasnt like she promised she'd behave. She only said she'd try. And how was she supposed to even keep her word when the hybrid was too fun to tease? "I really like it. It's warm and sweet. I haven't had much besides foraged fruit, nuts, and stew the last few years. Thank you for going to the trouble for me."
"I was told it would make my markings glow at night." She raised one pink hand, flexing the pointer finger with the white rings around it. "I've also been told I'm far too naïve for my own good sometimes."

“Well I am trying to become better with acrobatics and dancing. So why would I complain about more practice?” Quipped back Vilasini, a smile on her lips at the teasing. Truly though, how could she complain? Doesina had not only saved her life once but made each day after more interesting! She was delighted to see her again, even nursing her back to health wasn’t so terrible. Not that she wanted Doesina to feel bad, but it felt rather good being able to repay a favor like this. Sini enjoyed being helpful, especially towards those who she had an affection for. Though her cheeks did warm again at that look. Sini simply glanced away trying to feign innocence since she didn’t know quite how to handle everything in the moment. Focus on helping, just focus on helping. She reminded herself firmly.
Sini nodded though at the reassurance. “I’m sure you’ll be ready to take on another menzuri in no time.” She joked even though the memory of the crystal spiders still sent a shiver down her own spine. It was probably best they didn’t go looking for any more of those webs! Not that she had encountered one on purpose in the first place, but still. And then when she had her guard down while thinking about those spiders Doesina slipped in another compliment, the words making her face warm once more. Maybe she shouldn’t have cooked inside like this? Sini blamed the kitchen for the heat as she shook her head with a chuckle. “Well, it isn’t too complicated so hopefully I couldn’t mess it up that badly. Right? I’m an expert at porridge making since it was one of my favorite foods to eat when ill. I’ll gladly make it whenever you want.” She was a stubborn child always leaning over the stove to watch her gramma cook even when wobbling about with a fever. Then later when her adopted gramma needed some warm meals when her health was failing, that was when Sini had truly mastered the porridge, only using it whenever Rek was sick or she herself felt a bit uneasy while alone after losing her. Though the last of her words finally registered, Sini realizing the slip-up and once more glancing towards the wall as if seeking support there somehow. How could she make such a promise? That would mean assuming Doesina would be around her enough for such an offer! Which meant keeping in touch and…well it wasn’t a bad idea, but still!
“Well, it sounded like a cool thing if it worked. Though you glowed without it before, not so much now while you're ill.” Admitted Sini after a moment sneaking in a compliment of her own, her expression softening as she looked back and watched Doesina move a hand. “While I usually say try everything once I guess this was a bad idea. Not that you would know of course!” She quickly added while shaking her head. “That merchant did you dirty and honestly I am going to spread the word next time I’m in Neued! I run so many errands that any peddler trying such a stunt will be quickly shut down.” She promised, a righteous fury filling her chest with warmth at the very thought of someone passing something so nasty around under such pretense. Was he just picking on Doesina for being an Elaria or simply making a bad sell for quick coin? Either way! It just wasn’t right!

Doesina 8 "Guess you'd better keep me around, than," Doesina declared with a sly smile, clearly still teasing but also being very serious about the offer. She had all the time in the world to get to know this adorable hybrid who understood how to enjoy yourself. It had been quite a surprise when a woman with both Shifter and Alkidike blood had started flirting with her, an Elaria of all people. Saved her life or not, she wouldn't have been shocked if Sini had taken the first opportunity to run as far away from her as she could possibly get. There was no way she wasn't aware of all the history their two cultures had together. No one could be that innocent. There were still plenty alive who could remember what it was like. Her grandmother being one, Mayella always telling her family growing up about what it was like to be one of the first blooms of an exiled race of proud warrior women. If Doesina hadn't been so persistent about going to Juahar, her grandmother would have left instead. And now that she'd been gone for so long, Doesina couldn't help wondering how worried her family must be over her. She could have gotten into trouble with the locals and they'd never know.
Of course, she also wouldn't have met Sini. And that in itself felt worth all the suffering and loneliness she had endured since leaving. As if the hybrid was a kindred spirit she was meant to meet.
The Elaria giggled, stifling it with another spoonful of porridge. The bread for the moment being ignored. "I shall bring you a Menzuri for dinner, so that you may get your revenge." Not that even she had enough pride to think that possible. Not even Heike messed with those. Still, she sat up a little straighter, thrusting her nose more into the air as if she really did think it was realistic to pull off such a feat. "I bet they taste awful. Unlike your cooking. You must have practiced a lot."
"Do I now?" The side-look returned, making less attempts to hide it this time, the spoon held in her mouth for a few moments before she lowered it back to the bowl. "I'm not the only one here who brightens up a room." Though her eyes widened at the next comment. While it would be important to spread the word, Doesina couldn't argue, she would worry about her friend getting into potential danger over it. Neither of them knew what that seller might be capable of. "Just be careful. I don't trust shady businessmen. I wouldn't want you to come to trouble because of me."
