The scene starts in the back, showing off an interview set with the Backlash logo and advertising plastered on every square inch of the set. It was Backlash season and Cartwright and company were on a mission to let everyone know, if it wasn’t obvious already. Michael Cole sat on the left side of the sound set while Rosario and Dean had seats on the right side of the set. Dean had on a pair of jeans, no leg brace in sight while Rosario was wearing a neck brace. A giant white neck brace hugged above his shoulders as he sat up straight looking ready to speak his piece. He had taken a hell of a bump at WrestleMania, and it was obvious he was still reeling from the after effects. Cole piped up to begin the interview.

“Once again we are sitting down with Dean Johnson and his manager Rosario! There have been a series a questions that have popped in our mind since the aftermath of WrestleMania. If we want to start there, you look like you are still recovering, How was ….”

Rosario interjected rapidly, hearing the conversation focus on him for a second. “Still recovering! Of Course I’m still recovering. Listen Cole, I’m not an active competitor. I am merely a guide and mind for the man of the hour sitting next to me right here. That no good Damone cheapshotted me as I was offering advice to my client...and because of that not only was Dean forced to go at it alone, I now have to wear this hideous brace to make sure I can sit in a movie theater normally for the rest of my life! Drako is a no - goo.. “ Rosario mid-rant noticed a stern glance from Dean as he took the hint. Dean Johnson obviously felt a different way about the match then Rosario, regardless if he would speak on the matter for himself or not. “..The point is Cole. Drako put on a hell of a match and Dean danced with him every step of the way. Drako wanted technicality and Dean proved that he could hang with the best of them. There will be another day where Dean will face the champion, and I promise, the results will not be the same. Raining Fire is a devastating move, but don’t hold your breath on hitting it again…”

Cole looked at his papers as it was time to move it along. Dean was cool and collected as he took a sip from his water, not talking was nice, he was merely a pretty face for the cameras.

“Now, tonight we are kicking off with the return of the King of the Canvas Tournament. There are a lot of familiar names in this tournament as it seems the best of the best have been making their way back to FG. Dean has entered this tournament, and as the current number 1 ranked contender, eyes are on him and his match tonight. Dean’s opponent for tonight is a mystery as well. How does your team feel about being the only match not able to fully prepare for the tournament?”

Rosario decided to be respectful this time, sometimes being tactful had its advantages. He had a tendency to come out from the chest, but honesty was honesty at the end of the day. He wasn’t paid to be liked, he was paid to provide results. “The mystery opponent is just another curveball thrown in our path. Listen Cole, do you know why we perform here week in and week out. Do you know why we have become one of the highest paid competitors in WWF:G. It’s because we give the fans what they crave. What they NEED. Even when our matches get shortened on time due to nepo-babies wanting to show off and prove that they are just b-tier copy cats of their more talented parents. My girl Portia had five minutes to prove her stuff, FIVE, while others got to inherit choreography from their parents' VHS tapes! Dean isn’t here to flip and flop. He gives an honest and real fight to every match and they feel that. It’s dripping from his pores RUTHLESS AGGRESSION, He’s a throwback to when wrestlers wrestled. ******** the glass fists, ******** the car chases, ******** the Corporate overlords screwing the blue collar everyday man.”

There was a second of silence and seriousness as Rosario moved his body forward. It was the closest he could do of a lean with the range of motion in his neck now severely reduced. “The fans want real. We have people dying out here my guy. WrestleMania was a massive event but lets not forget there was a "fatal stabbing" and a female competitor was put on her deathbed as well. On the same show we had people coming back to life to wow the fans! Dead, not Dead! Dead, not Dead! What are they to believe? We’re done with that, let’s just wrestle. How many more people can even be dead out there! If I see any of my associates and friends along the way continue to be apart of this goof then I’m done with them, simple as that Cole.”

There was a relaxation among the group as Cole held a hand to his ear. He got the signal it was time to wrap it up, he looked at Rosario and the message was silently delivered. Rosario could talk all night but it was time to wrap it up. Interview segments didn’t get the air time they use too! We needed cinematic hidden cameras and 15 minute entrances, that's what sold those tickets baby!

“We entered our man Dean here into the tournament for a reason. And that’s because he is the best. He will go through the roster again and do something I never could. Earn the respect of the back while cementing his spot as a competitor. I’ll be there every step of the way, regardless of who we are facing. Know this, I guarantee we are going to come more vicious than ever. No nepo-babies, no silliness, Tap or nap baby, tap or nap…“
