Powering up was one of those safe times when he could let the glamors fall and not look like a human. He could look like just who and what he was - a Selinurion. His ears and tail stood out that night but no one was out this late to spot him, at least no one should be out this late. He'd decided to go out really late, nearly one in the morning, in the hopes of enjoying the cool night hair and finding some youma to deal with.

So far he'd not run into any youma but the cool night air was nice against his face, he also did like the feel of the light breeze playing with his hair. This planet was different from his own, so very different, and he was dreading the summer which was on it's way. He'd dealt with an Earth summer already and he was not pleased with it arriving again so soon, he'd be spending as much time indoors as he could, there was only so much heat and sun he could handle.

When he got his own planet up and going again he knew he'd spend more time there in order to avoid the summer heat here. He was sure that once it was revived the cold of his home planet would return...it would be the first thing to return he was certain of it. The tempatures would need to adjust, and cool, before any life would return as life on his planet was not meant for a warm planet...that had been the problem after all.

As he wandered the city streets he could feel something, someone, not too far off. Another senshi...

It was turning towards summer, these days, and Alexis had never been terribly fond of the heat. High humidity was one thing -- and not even a deleterious one -- but some days were smotheringly warm, and they often had to internally debate with themself between going out covered (as was their usual), going out only partially covered (which they didn't mind, per se, but people asked questions and shot looks when so much of them had scars), or - simply - not going out at all, and languishing in an air-conditioned room half-clothed and chewing ice until the heat broke.

It wasn't summer yet, but they weren't much looking forward to it. Would cutting their hair help with the heat? Yes. Were they even going to consider it? Certainly not. Weren't they allowed to have one point of vanity?

They'd been scheduling appointments and meetings for the evening, as it went, and given most of those people generally preferred a vestige of secrecy it hadn't been so unpleasant. Exiting the building, though, they'd thought they'd seen -- was that a senshi? Hard to tell, from this distance, but the headpiece and the colors, and then the ears and tail... Alexis waited for the figure to pass out of sight, leaning themself leisurely against the doorframe and pretending to fiddle with their gloves, and then when he'd likely gone far enough they slipped into an alleyway and utilized their own henshin pen to better follow.

And when he was in sight --

"Selinur," Roka said, faux-pleasantly, so pointedly that the poison was audible under the skin of the name. "What a surprise! Could have sworn all of you died."

Which, perhaps, they might've even deserved! A thousand years past - and even today, not that they had frequent opportunity to exercise the skills - Roka had generally considered themself adequate at spywork, and excellent at infiltration and being in places they were not intended to be. But on Selinur -- not only had they been caught in the searchlights and scruffed, essentially, they'd ended up leaving even more information behind. Humiliating! Absolutely humiliating. Did the grudge mean anything anymore? No, but some things lingered.

Certainly they might have been wrong; there were plenty of senshi in those ages past who'd had furred ears and tail. Fang, just to name one who was around in the city in this modern age. But the colors...

Ah, well. If they were wrong, they'd pretend to be terribly embarrassed -- not that they could actually feel something like that, anymore -- and make a new contact.

And if they were right, then -- it didn't even matter. They just wanted to rub his face in it. And if some of that spite was driven by the fact he got to be a super and they were trapped as a basic senshi, that was Roka's business and Roka's business alone.

Just as he was pressing at the snowflake pendant he wore, so he could cool himself down further, he heard something - his name. Enough people knew him at this point, he wasn't exactly keeping his presence in the city a secret, but it wasn't a voice he could place as someone he knew. By now he'd stopped in his tracks, standing under a light on the sidewalk, and turned slowly.

Well now...that was a uniform he knew. "It's been a long time." Far too long but what could you say? Every planet, and heavenly body, seemed to be cut off from one another. A lot had happened and all without anyone communicating with anyone else. "How terribly misinformed you've been. I'm still alive as you can tell. My planet wouldn't let me go, some might think it a pity really." The blond replied evenly, well trained in holding his temper in check.

"I must say I'm rather surprised to see you, although there seems to be so many of us here. Of course we've all been brought here for a reason and aren't back home." Because their homes had all been destroyed by vairous means, putting the two of them in a similar boat.

"Tell me, how ahve you been Roka? It's been so terribly long...though I do believe I remember when we last ran into each other." Stepping towards the other the blond was small, petite, and he knew it. He knew he didn't look impressive or threatening by any means. But that had never been his peoples strength anyway, they were all small and petite, it was what secrets they kept which was their weapon of choice if they'd ever needed it - they never had. It was a good thing too...the secrets they had on some...it could topple governments and get people killed. They had power...they just didn't look like they did.

Resisting the urge to scowl was simple. It was only a hint of a feeling, a ghost of something; and it would've made him think perchance he still had power over them, if they reacted in what would have been such a predictable way. Not on this battlefield, he didn't.

Instead Roka crossed their arms across their stomach and smiled, smug as they could manage, and stared him unblinking in the eyes. "I've been well," they said, "certainly no thanks to you and yours." There was a short list of people they might consider telling about their thousand years of hell, and even in another thousand years, Selinur would not have made it onto the list still. He would use it for the weakness it was. It was what his people did.

"Albeit with a few exceptions." Lost power, lost strength, lost magic; hell, but it stung to feel his aura stronger than theirs still, it stung each and every time - "and you?"

"That's good to hear, wouldn't want to see you unwell or anything of the sort." He did mean it, the other was a fellow senshi after all, but let the other assume what they wanted with his words. "Really, did our not helping really do so much damage? Perhaps if you'd asked instead of simply seeking what you wanted." Shrugging a bit as he spoke, letting his words hang in the air. Not that his people would have helped. They didn't give up the secrets they kept on others - never. It wasn't something they did because that would be admitting to what they knew and just who, and what, they were. They weren't going to let anyone know that. That was, after all, the biggest secret. It might be whispered about but never proven, though Roka had come the cloest to knowing the truth.

"I've been well, this planet is rather interesting." Certainly interesting, there was so much to learn and explore here. It wasn't his home, and he did dislike being off his own planet, but he had no choice in the matter really. This was for the best and he would make the most of it.

"There is a lot to do...many things to explore. What haveyou been doing since arriving here?" Tilting his head, and his ears twitching, as he watched the other, a smile playing about the ancient senshis lips.

"You wouldn't have helped no matter how I made that request," Roka said, dismissively, "so don't pretend as if you would have been reasonable." And even in that far-off instance of the world where Selinur and its people had acquiesced -- it wouldn't have helped much. What they'd wanted was for all that compromising information to be inaccessible, permanently, to anyone but who it concerned; and that was something that would have never happened. Who would ever give up that bargaining chip? Certainly they wouldn't, if it'd been them.

They had so few bargaining chips and so few points of blackmail these days. What a pity. Perhaps they'd find something Selinur was sensitive about, if the conversation continued, and finally have some form of leverage over him.

"Oh," they shrugged it off, "keeping busy, as one does; population's plenty big enough to indulge."

"Mmm, true. But perhaps thigns wouldn't have ended in the same manner." But it was true, the information wouldn't have been handed over, especially since they'd have denied posessing it to begin with. They would never admit to what information they had, how they obtainedit, or anything of what was whispered about them. The way of his people was to deny al lthe whispers, if they were ever questioned about it, or play ignorant and act surprised by the questions. It was the one big weapon they had and no one could prove whether or not they had information much less how much information they had an on whom they had information. It was all a big mystery which they would never tell to anyone aside from their own kind.

"Mmm, I do agree. This place is rather interesting, plenty to observe and learn." A lot of that was to simply survive herre but a fair amount was because he wanted to know whatever he could get his hands on. He had note books, under his mattress, which he was starting to fill up with information on the city and various people. He certainly couldn't help himself with gathering information and saw no problem in it, it was being done in a safe and harmless manner. That was something he'd work on once his planet saw life again, especially people like himself, he'd need to figure out how to continue information gathering without destroying his homeworld again. It would be more of a balancing act but he was prepared for it.

"The people here lack a unification as far as beliefs and culture. It gives a lot to learn." And it left them a bit unpredictable as everyone was different. It kept one on their toes for certain.

"And what do you make of this war going on? The form chaos has taken here?"

It was an easy lie to choose. Even if Selinur suspected something of Róka, which doubtlessly he did -- their nature back then had not been particularly trustworthy, nor was their nature now -- this would not be it. "...It'll be difficult to burn it out. It's quite entrenched - not exactly my usual sort of hunt." They let that burgeoning bitterness slide away into smoke and disappear, and replaced it with something more palatable; slight frustration, mixed with that keen hunter's-interest.

"But I'll manage. Most of them do still bleed, like any enemy. And you?"

"I'll agree, everyone bleeds still and everyone can die." Shrugging as he spoke so casually. Honestly he felt more comfortable speaking with Roka than he did with most others, perhaps due to the shared past breif as it was. Or perhaps it was because they shared some similarities. But it was easier here to speak to the other, to not hide who he normally was. He didn't need to be nice and make an alliance here, he doubted he'd find himself gaining the others help ever.

"This'll be a difficult hunt, especially when you need to go hunting for information first before you can even deal with the chaos here. This planet has survived though, it's impressive really. I wonder if it's sheer numbers, being thatit's normally one senshi per planet, which has kept this war dragging on as long as it has" But to now be holding out so long on one single city. It was a small place and with so many powered individuals here, it was unique to say the least.

"Will you be helping the children on this planet in their war or will you stand back and observe?" After all this really wasn't their war, not unless they wanted to make it such. They were senshi who had not been born, or reborn, here and so their duty was to their own homeworlds. They didn't need to do anything here on Earth if they didn't want to.

The sound Róka made wasn't much of a laugh, but it could've passed for one if their voice had been less raspy. "They do try to involve me, but I've little interest in their war most days, and they'd never approve of my tactics if I told them." It was barely even a war, with one side bladeless; they hardly had a taste for that. This wasn't even necessarily untrue. "Like playing with toys. Everyone goes home alive. Still -- it seeks me out, and I'm hardly about to lie down and die."

Their miserable little life might have been worth absolutely nothing, but for so long it had been the only thing they'd had at all. Taking any proper vow of non-interference would've been placing their throat in the butcher's hands.

But. Well. There was always that third option, which they had taken.

"This is true. I'm not much for war and fighting, my people never were, but I can't disagree with you on this. It's a war in name only really. Perhaps some have died in the past but it seems to be little fights with no real loss, a hidden thing that the normal people havent' a clue about." And that was, no doubt, part of why this war was going on as it was. They were hiding it and not risking exposure...and for what?

"I'll help in this war, though I dislike the methods, in order to remove chaos from this planet and help my own. But I cna't help but wonder how long they plan on letting this mess continue on. If it keeps up this way they'll all die of old age...I hear they don't live as long on this planet as people do elsewhere." A mischevious smile tugging at his lips. He might be old but he certainly didn't feel it nor did he look it. These children were like toddlers to him...infants perhaps even. To think they'd die just the same.

"So you'll be keeping out of this as much as you can, I assume? Would you like me to share anything interesting I learn?"

If he was offering...

There was a look of brief surprise that glanced over their face; certainly Róka looked like they'd been taken off-guard by Selinur's possible extension of knowledge. The expression and the emotion were performed, but nevertheless it was unexpected -- they'd have expected him, more than anyone, to understand how precious it was to not share any of it.

Mayhaps he planned to feed them falsehoods? Certainly not unlikely. It was what they would have done, in his place. They'd simply have to follow up on it all.

"If you'd be so kind. One needs to know what to avoid and what to engage with, after all." They grimaced mildly.

As the other seemed to be hesitating the senshi of glaze kept his gazeon the other. They, more than most, knew how unlikely it was for him to offer up information and to not even add on a price for it. He was offering information to the other though and not mentioning anything in return from the other.

"I can be that kind, rare as it is. We're all here with our homeworlds unable to support life. We need to know whatever we can so we can bring back our homeworlds." So eventually they could return home; and be supported. It would be nice to be able to live on his homeworld again

"Mmm, I think I'll let you go for the night. I'll keep an eye out for anything important and I'll reach out if I find anything. We have a common fight it would seem, seeing as we're both here." As were many others it seemed. Turning around he headed off into the night, he might as well see if he couldn't put the rest of his night to good use.
