Stirling was stuffed, and boy did it ever feel good. “I haven’t eaten so much in ages, like. Not something that tasty! When I get food like that normally it’s takeaway and so it’s cooled, but man, I burnt my mouth on one of those chicken tenders! It was amazing!”
She patted her stomach and looked at Murikabushi with a pleased expression, at least up until the moment she gave a loud belch, eyes growing wide from the force of it. “...Oh my God. That. Please pretend that didn’t happen. I did say I haven’t eaten so much in ages…aha…”
Cheeks red, Stirling drew out her dagger again and brandished it at the Dark Mirror Senshi. “Why don’t you come at me and I can show you my magic! It’s pretty cool and doesn’t let people get close to me, so, come at me, friend, show me what you’ve got and I’ll show you the same!” It would all be okay so long as she didn’t burp like that again. Keep that up and he’d never buy her more food.
And that food had been so yummy. The thought of not having more was…actually sad.

For once, Reiki actually felt like he might have understood the point of even having such a thing as the Senshi of Hunger. Maybe Heliodor had been partially right, back in November. Parts of his attitude at the time still hadn’t sat well with Reiki (not that this had meant much because Reiki had spent most of their conversation on-edge and feeling various degrees of Wrong about all the half-truths he’d spun so as to avoid ending up on some kind of Negaverse watch-list, if such a thing existed), and it bore consideration that Reiki hadn’t used his magic with Stirling today. Not unless you counted the magic of how many drunk queers he could convince to give him money by moving his body in a compelling way and lip-synching to Megan Thee Stallion.
Still, for all the times when he’d shared or bought food with someone while powered up, something felt different about this time with Stirling. Felt right about it. Felt like getting her a decent meal and making sure she ate it was, somehow, what Reiki was supposed to be doing. If only it could’ve been so easy to apply that logic to people’s assorted emotional issues and other less tangible kinds of needs……but oh well, Reiki presumably had the rest of his life to figure that part out.
Standing opposite Sterling, he smiled. “Pretend what didn’t happen,” he said with a wink to indicate that……of course he wouldn’t hold that against her. Even if he’d wanted to, the dagger came back out quickly enough and redirected his focus. Invitation or no, Reiki pondered what he might do on the other side of whatever kind of protective magic Stirling had. Accounting for height differences, the general difference between a kid who seemed to keep pretty active but maybe didn’t like specifically train vs. an adult with a gym membership…… “Either way, if you’re ready, Sweetie?”
He gave her a moment to summon her magic, then ran at her. If he managed to get around the magic somehow, he’d try to grab the wrist attached to her dagger and get it over her head. Give her a chance to fight back and see what she did to get out of a situation like that.

Stirling grinned brightly and looked so pleased at the fact that he was just going to ignore the fact that she was an obvious ogre. Still, she slashed her dagger through the air and laughed, knowing that it would all be useless and her shield would stop him and…
She was still laughing when he slipped right through the shield and grabbed her wrist, putting it over her head.
It took a long moment for everything to catch up and she swallowed, her smile finally fading. “...Wait…what? How did you go through the shield? That…that’s not supposed to happen, it’s supposed to stop you…that’s…that’s the whole point!”
That was the whole point of her magic, the whole reason she had magic. She could easily keep herself safe but…but Muri had just waltzed through the shield like he had good sense.
“...I don’t understand.”
