There wasn’t anything in this world that was better than a good fight...or…a spar in this case, and Stirling’s heart thrilled to hear the words ‘come at me’, and with a laugh and a nod that was far too eager, she did just that, moving as swiftly as she could towards the other Squire, laughing the whole while.
This was fun. Exciting. It got her blood pumping and just…was something she enjoyed doing.
She doubted that she would have gotten it from…well.
Whatever. She had it now, and that was all that mattered. “Going for the eye, Casablanca! Better watch out, or we’ll be looking into getting you an eyepatch, then you’ll be Casablancarr, a pirate Knight!” Which…as fun as it sounded, wasn’t the ideal way to spend a life, though, perhaps it would be good incentive for her friend to attack back and get this party really started.

Casablanca couldn't help it. She laughed, delightedly, and tapped her flag on the ground as Stirling came at her. This felt good, and fun, and just...joyful. She was happy to be here. Wanted to be here. There was so much that she could do, and she had a friend to do it with.
And all around her, there was a shower of sparkles, which didn't seem to do much--and when she moved to dodge away from Stirling's attack, it stopped. But the dagger still got her on the cheek, leaving a scratch behind that made her pout. Mostly in jest, though.
"I really don't think I'm suited for the pirate's life," she said, and she moved to swing her staff at Stirling--definitely holding back, but still with some force behind it. Yeah,t hey were having fun, but that didn't mean she needed to disrespect her friend by not giving it a good go and actually trying to make it a fight.

Stirling winced at the scratch and swiftly looked down at her dagger, trying to figure out where it came from but…
Ah. The edge of the thistle guard…that. Was good to know!
“Okay, what about a flag twirler like in a marching band? You kind of have the outfit already and you have the flag, it could be a good look for you, don't you think?” Perhaps she should lay off the insults until she was out of range of the weapon, since the fancy twirling flag managed to bonk Stirling pretty well on the head, and with a laugh, she did scoot back a few feet, wrinkling her nose as she rubbed her head, fixing her hat which had nearly been pushed off.
“Okay, so maybe you can do neat things with that, I’ll give you that one, and I should walk before I talk, I’ll give me that advice too.”

Casablanca thought about it for a moment, which was probably silly. She shouldn't have hesitated in a fight. But this was her friend, and she wasn't worried about Stirling jumping her or anything crazy like that. So she could probably be kind of chill about that.
"I guess I could do that, yeah," she said, and she laughed. "You okay? I hope I didn't hurt you too bad or anything, I--hmm," she frowned, and focused again, and let the stardust begin to float around her again.
She felt the sting of the scratch on her cheek begin to fade, and she reached up, to touch it, and gasped.
"Oh! Oh, it's healing magic, okay!" No wonder it hadn't seemed to do anything before! There hadn't been anything for it to fix!
Well, now she felt even better about this whole thing. She could fix people. With magic. What an incredibly awesome prospect that was.

“That’s useful as hell!” Brooklyn’s eyes widened and she moved closer to Casablanca once more, reaching out and gently stroking her now healed cheek and whistling under her breath. “That’s amazing! You’re someone to keep around! One of my friends…ah.”
She shrugged. “He can heal too, I guess. But. Yours seems way more efficient so…
The memory of the harsh words that had been thrown at her when she awakened still haunted her sometimes and the thought of Atticus having to heal Elliot wasn’t a memory that she enjoyed dwelling on.
It made her feel rather sick, all things considered.
“I think…if you have the money you should totally treat us to ice cream for a job well done tonight, and we can figure out what we’ll do next? I want to hang out with you like, all the time, so just know you’ve gotten an even stronger barnacle.”

Casablanca smiled. "Always smart to keep a healer on hand!" It seemed like the best thing to do, especially when their enemies...had all sorts of nasty weapons.
"I don't know how much I can fix," she admitted, "but we can keep trying, and we'll be a lot safer, since I can do this, now." She wouldn't have to be nearly as afraid, not when she'd be able to at least fix some of her friend's injuries, and her own. The magic ending when she moved sort of sucked, but that was okay, she'd just have to stick with someone else and make sure she always had backup.
And it sounded like Stirling would always want to be on her side, so that was pretty good.
"We'll be a pretty good team," she said.
"Anyway, I can totally afford to get us some celebratory ice cream. Let's go. We can even do one of those fancy places, you know, where they do the mix-ins and stuff, if you want? Really go all out to celebrate."
Honestly, she couldn't think of a better way to spend her money than treating herself as a friend.
