The weather for the evening was looking grim indeed with a good chance of rain interrupting what would be her late night walk but Nessaela was determined to continue her nightly sojourns regardless of what the human forecasters predicted would happen with the storms that were set to settle over the city. Picking up the umbrella that she had purchased since the last time that she had encountered rain did Nessaela activate her glamour upon exiting the house that they all shared as a unit. It was her wish to experience a spring storm without being intruded upon and in order to do that she needed to once again stumble to a local park that would be empty. It would only be then that she would drop her human guise in order to experience the rain as it was meant to be experienced.
Perhaps I should have seen if Tenoch wished to join me but that wouldn't be for the best as I remember the last time we experienced a rainstorm together. And it was the truth. Nessaela clearly remembered being at the staging area where they had landed and waking up to hear the rain on her sleeping area before witnessing her fellow cadet setting up containers of all sorts to catch raindrops.
No, it was probably better if she went alone this time. Making her way into a park that was a little further out of the way then usual did the Vanguardian cadet glance to and fro before dropping the human glamour that all cadet's were supposed to use when out and about. What harm did it do though when the local populace of the town was supposed to be asleep? Only individuals that should be out were the powered ones ... and it seemed like all sides already knew of their existence. So really, it was pointless to continue hiding at times when no one else would see what they truly were.

The weather was starting to take a turn for the worse as Chalcanthite was out on a patrol gathering energy. Originally it had looked like it was going to be a clear night so he had left any sort of rain gear back at his home where Liam had been sleeping. Going back would probably wake the other up so he would have to deal with a bit of rain if it came to it. The night was otherwise uneventful, he had reached his quota even with a lack of people out and about due to the approaching weather.
After he finished his path, he decided to make his way through one of the parks to see if anyone was unfortunate enough to lie passed out on one of the benches. Gone were the days that he would drain someone in such a position, having been in the same position only a bit over a month ago now. But when he reached the park clearing, he saw something that made him do a double take. Standing behind a tree he quickly pulled out his tried and true notebook, filled with a decade of concise notes of things he had learned over the time he had spent in the Negaverse. All the way back to the first page, something the General who corrupted him had written and underlined. Aliens.
He remembered something had occurred a few years back but it was always difficult to tell where their alliances would lie after everything had gone down. For now, he watched carefully from his coverage by the treeline, still not used to seeing something that came from outer space.

Nessaela was so far disappointed with the apparent lack of rain. Sure the clouds seemed ominous enough but they seemed reluctant to drop any form of precipitation over the city. Had those that forecast the weather read their reports incorrectly? Had they lied to the human populace? Leaving the area that was well lit in which she had stopped to sit on a bench did Nessaela scan the area before turning her face upwards. A lone drop of rain struck her face almost as on cue sending her racing back to collect the umbrella she had almost left behind, "Guess the report wasn't a lie. That's good to know."
Opening the umbrella as soon as she reclaimed possession of the device saved the cadet from getting soaked as the skies above finally seemed to open to drench all those that had been caught unawares. Even as she sheltered under the protective fabric that formed the umbrella's dome did Nessa stick out her free hand to feel the force in which the rain fell. It didn't seem as bad as she had once experienced rain but the drops were coming down at quite a quick rate. It was then that she caught sight of someone in the distance who seemed to be looking right at her.
Alarm was the first reaction before Nessaela simply shifted the umbrella to hide the most noticeable features that marked her as different. The feeling of alarm quickly vanished to be replaced with a mixture of curiosity and annoyance. Who was this individual that dared to intrude and why where they here? Had she been followed or was this just a random encounter?
Figuring the best thing to do was to simply ignore the other did Nessaela begin to move down the pathway, away from the set of eyes that were watching her. Acting nonchalant ... that was the best solution for now.

Chalcanthite watched as they moved the umbrella over their head, hiding more of the odd features that marked them as different. As the rain fell harder, he pulled his topcoat up and over his hair a bit otherwise he would have one massive neck and headache from the weight of his own wet hair. He weighed his odds before making himself known, honestly wanting to see if he could find out more. "Good Evening! I do not mean to startle you but I ended up getting caught out in this weather without proper protection. How are you this evening." He spoke casually as he slowly got closer, keeping his coat up and over his head. Revealing his quiver strapped to his thigh as he walked.
He was a very tall individual, and even though the other wasn't short, he still had over half a foot on her as he approached. "I feel as if you are new to this park, I frequent my way around parks when the weather is looking less than ideal. Although tonight I may have forgotten to come prepared myself as you can see." As he stopped, standing about ten feet away, he looked closer at her appearance, seeing green hair and blueish skin peeking out underneath her outfit and umbrella. It was exciting in a way for him to see more of what he had only seen reports of due to his absence during key operations related to those like who stood before him now.

Nessaela had hoped that if by playing it cool and calm and uninterested in conversation that the intrusion she was experiencing in her nightly walk would have lost interest. But it seemed as if that was not the case. If he was close enough to address her in person it seemed like it would have been too late to reactivate her glamour for surely her clothing style would change from her cadet uniform to whatever her glamour was programmed to appear like, and that would have really indicated that something abnormal was happening.
Utilising her umbrella as a partial shield Nessaela peeked out to observe the one who had been brave or foolish enough to approach before sighing. As hard as it was raining it looked like he spoke the truth about forgetting the proper weather apparel. Shifting her position did the cadet sigh before peering more closely at things. Passing her free hand over her comtech did Nessaela watch as the screen lit up before reading the display information, "I'm not startled exactly but I am surprised to see another out here when the weather is less than ideal."
As she read what the screen was telling her Nessaela sighed. The rain wasn't going to end soon and this stranger was already keen to have spotted what made her different but according to what the comtech was telling her, it was a member of the Negaverse. Loosely allied she still supposed considering that the Commodore still ventured to the safe house in the Dark Kingdom, so why did she feel as if she had something to hide.
"I'm not new to the park, not really. I just tend to hope that no one else is around when I do go through them. Guess you could understand why," Nessaela tilted her umbrella away from her face before sweeping a hand towards the bench she had just risen from moments before, "if you want ... sit down and it could be easier for one umbrella to function for two people."
It would closer quarters but it was obviously a better solution to accept things rather than to run and make things possibly worse.

Chalcanthite watched as she looked at some sort of screen on her wrist before responding. Probably her way of making sure he wasn't hostile or at least a way of checking alliances much like he used the way auras felt to figure things out. It made sense given the way they had all split their alliances after everything went down.
"Normally I try to make my way around when the weather is nicer but, I neglected to look at the forecast this evening." Watching as she seemed to begrudgingly accept the fact he wasn't going to just walk away, he smiled a bit. This was something he would have to tell Liam about later.
"I would like that if it is alright with you, at least until the weather calms down. I probably disturbed you enough given you wanted to take some time in your usual appearance instead of blending in with the rest of us. It probably is a nice break for you. I understand that in a way, the line between work and my normal life is one I like to keep from crossing so I can get some peace once in a while."
He took a seat on the bench after wiping some of the pooled water off it for the both of them. "I would like to hear about how things have been going here in the city for you and if you would like I can share some things from my every day if that interests you?"
