Melody patrolled the route she had written down from her General, everything was new and unique but she was still unsure of what to do next outside of the orders she was given. She powered up using her pen, groaning at the heavy and long hair she had now. She looked like her brother in a way and she despised it. She sat over by his place and watched for drunkards that would inevitably pass in front of his house to make their way towards the dorms and home. Part of her wondered if he was passed out somewhere as he was rarely home at night anymore from what she noticed. He disgusted her, Aloysius was just like their father. Alcoholics served no positive purpose in this world and she wished he would just drop dead already as their father had from his own alcoholism.
If she had known what sensing was yet, she might have already known there was another chaos member also patrolling around the area. That hadn’t been explained quite yet to her as this was still the first week of her getting used to her powers. She took out a small little planner notebook to look over the things she had written down about how draining worked and that she would later need to submit that to her supervisor.

Melpomene was out powered up and letting his wraiths do their job; gather energy. He didn’t have a quota but he still had to gather some energy, as it went to something useful, he’d earlier told Aloysius that he’d be out in the area gathering energy from people. If the other needed him he’d be easy to find, he’d made sure of it. He was trying to keep close to the others home, which was out of his usual area of gathering energy, in case the other needed anything, even just his company. He was making himself easy to have access to so he could keep from falling into old habits or drowning in depression.
He didn’t know if the other would need him tonight but he was here, wraiths out doing there job on those who wandered the area. As for himself…well he was moving between trees so no one actually saw him, he didn’t need any civilians trying to fight him. If Aloysuis powered up he’d surely find the dark mirror senshi without too much trouble, even if he didn’t know what he looked like in uniform.
As he moved about he spotted long hair, a braid of long brown hair, and without too much thought he moved to follow the figure as he assumed it might be a certain someone.

Something felt off, she just couldn’t place it and she paused from her patrol to try looking around. There were trees everywhere and just as many drunks. It was only when she saw a weird creature moving between people almost unseen and unnoticed. “Oh, that is very unsettling. I wasn’t told about those, are they from someone like me?” She carefully made her way between the trees to try to get a better look, keeping that braid of hers from getting caught on loose sticks and stuff from the foliage. It was at that point she spotted her brother through his window, he was smoking and looking outside with an expression she couldn’t quite a place. Something seemed different about him, it wasn't normal for him to smoke out a window. He usually just wallowed in his excuse for a room and drank or smoked the night away this whole time during his sabbatical. Maybe she could drain him, she wondered what it did to people anyway. Could be fun to mess with him.
She carefully made her way closer and closer to his house while staying out of sight to the best of her ability.
Aloysius sat and smoked, comforted by knowing Liam was nearby. There was another person out there but he couldn’t quite tell who they were. They were getting closer but he did live by an alley so they were probably looking for easy targets among the drunkards. He rolled the cigarette between his fingers and sipped on some orange juice wondering if he should go out there with Liam and get a look at what he looked like on the job. He would wait a bit longer, it felt so much nicer to not be alone even though his house was empty there was at least someone who worried about him nearby in case something occurred.

Melpomene was busy following the corrupt senshi, stopping when they turned and headed for one of his wraiths. It was a corrupt senshi, he knew that, but it still looked like Aloysius due to the braid. He knew corrupt senshi had long hair, all of them did, but this one just looked like the other and reminded him of Aloysius.
Jumping down from his tree branch he landed on light feet. “You might not want to touch my wraith. It’ll drain you dry just as easily as anyone else.” He stated calmly, arms crossing over his chest. They didn’t care who they drained from…they just did their job and when too full he’d call them back. He didn’t need them being too easily seen by civilians. “I don’t know who you are but I’d rather you not remain here.” Especially since she was headed towards Aloysius’ home, something he wasn’t going to allow, as he moved to place himself between her and the home.

Aoede watched the other with a bit of surprise as they appeared from the trees. “If you are also draining I don’t see why I can’t have a bit of energy from the lout in that house.” She crossed her arms and stared at him with her cold icy blue eyes. If anything in this moment she looked exactly how Aloysius had when he first joined the Negaverse but she hadn’t known any of that yet. “That is very efficient though, the specter things? I have a feeling there are different flavors of all this stuff with draining isn’t there.” She hated being out of the loop but it bothered her more than this man stood between her and her target.
“I don’t really see why you’re defending him, you probably don’t even know him. He’s just a drunkard, believe me, I should know. I grew up with him and I bet he still hasn’t done anything with his sad excuse of a life.” She peeked over the man’s shoulder and looked at the kitchen window, it was now empty.
Aloysius heard a bit of a commotion outside and put out his cigarette before heading towards the front door, carefully watching the showdown. She looked really familiar but there was now what they were who he thought they were. His sister was just a normal run-of-the-mill civilian… unless?

“Wraiths, they work with the dark mirror court.” They didn’t work for them, he’d never think that, he knew they could turn. He’d heard of it happening in the past. He wasn’t about to assume they had control over them…that would be stupid on his part, and he wasn’t that dumb. “As for the person in that house - I’ll be putting my foot down on that.” And he was the one with more power here, plus if he needed to he’d just use his magic on her and that should handle the issue.
“I’d much rather stand here and answer your questions than stand here defending someone from you. But if I have to, I will.” He wasn’t going to budge for her but he would answer questions, he might not know everything, but if it kept Aloysius safe he’d do his best and be a bit more social than usual. Looking over his shoulder he did notice the other missing from the window, good, at least he wasn’t in sight of this corrupt senshi. He just hoped the general either came out and handled things himself or kept tucked away in the house, in case this got out of hand. He was prepared to deal with this however he needed to.

Aloysius stepped outside, watching and contemplating his next move. This senshi had to be Mel but when had this all gone down? She definitely looked pissed which probably mean she was after him this time and not just for a scalding match. Part of him wondered if she would go for his starseed, thinking back to how he had first met bischofite, he thought it would be time to make a move and call her bluff. She would reach into his chest and get one hell of a surprise when he powered up and showed her what he had been doing for a decade now. He looked towards Liam with a bit of a smile and winked, letting them know he had a plan.
“Aloysius it seems you showed yourself that makes things a bit easier. Who’s the loverboy anyway? He looks like someone from a valentines day card?” At the distraction the appearance of her brother caused, she took her chance and ran towards him. “Even if you're drunk I really don't think that’ll change things.”

“Valentines day card….” He had no choice in his uniform, as she should know, but really? Rolling his eyes he turned to see just what was going to happen. Clearly Aloysius had something up his sleeve and for now he’d let the other handle things, see what was going on. “It’s Melpomene.” He stated while tapping a foot on the ground, blue eyes focused on the two.
“Aloysius, who is this?” He questioned finally, not caring that he’d proved he knew the civilian and that they clearly knew him and knew what he was. Though there were, he was certain, civilians who knew people who were powered and they knew it. “If you need me to handle things I can, Aloysius.”

As her hand reached into his chest, he smiled and powered up. “You really should not be so rude to my friend Mel.” He grabbed her wrist and held it tightly as he felt her fingers around his starseed. It was something he was once on her side of the table on his own first draining journey over a decade ago. “Enough is enough Mel when did you join up and why did you think it would be smart to come after me.” The shocked look on her face as she tried to pull away answered that. “You never thought that I made something of myself because I drank. I drank because I fight in a war. I drank because people have died and I was there when it happened.” At this, he let her hand free and walked over to Liam, well Melpomene as he now knew. Fitting that the one to save him was a muse.
“Oh no” She yanked and tried to pull as she realized her mistake. She was powerless to get away from her giant of a brother until he decided it was time to let go. Turning to watch the two of them, she started to process what she said as she cried. All these years she hated him because she thought he was like their father just wasting away his talents. Turns out he was drunk but because things had happened. “I guess they didn't think it fit to tell me or maybe they thought I knew?” She watched the two of them with an apologetic expression. “I’m sorry.”

“That’s why I’m here, guarding him as he works on himself.” Shrugging a bit as he stood close, shuffling closer, to her brother. The man really was a giant even compared to himself, and he was not that small himself. Though he was broader than Aloysius, so he had that to be somewhat smug about. “We’re all chaos here but you two and I differ in ways. Our sides seem to have some sort of alliance, or something similar, going on but I don’t know how your side works entirely. Perhaps they didn’t know you two were related though? It is a big city.” And he was certain they grabbed people with the same last names, unknowing and uncaring, if they were related or not.
“I suggest we all talk and learn to work together perhaps?” Wanting to play peace kepper, though he had to admit it had been sort of thrilling to see Aloysius power up and deal with a threat. It wasn’t a feeling he was familiar with, not really, it wasn’t the same as watching Acubens deal with something or even Jett. There was something else there…

Chalcanthite nodded and patted Melpomene’s head before making his way back into the house and powering down. Calling back to them. “I think that would be a great idea after I have another cigarette. I deserve one I think.” He beckoned them both to join him inside, leaving the door ajar slightly.
Aoede nodded sheepishly. “I have only just moved into town for college so that may be true. I will try to be less harsh on him but as you’ll find out we come from two separate halves of a divorced family. Working together might be more efficient and I can judge if he’s doing a good enough job. And what did he mean by drank as in past tense? He still smells of booze.” She hurried after her brother alongside the dark mirror senshi.

“So long as it’s by an open window.” He added in as he moved to follow the other, powering down as well. “Meaning I’ve dumped all the alcohol in the house and it’s a work in progress.” He stated as he looked towards the others sister. “Power down and come inside, we can talk best that way.” A long sleeve shirt and jeans were comfortable, more so than his powered uniform, unlike what Aloysius wore. He was certain dressing that nicely could not be comfortable.
“If that’s the case we’ll just have to work together on learning to all play nice. We all serve chaos and it would be good if we work together. Weapons are useful but magic is nice to have as well, both work together well. The Negaverse deploys both and I’m sure makes up teams consisting of both so as to have a good balance.” So they could do similar here. The door was held open for the smallest of the group, letting her in ahead of himself.

Melody nodded and powered down before going inside ahead of Melpomene. “I can’t believe he let someone dump it all, it probably took all day to find his stashes. Again sorry if I came off as rough. Aloysius makes my blood boil with all the money he got and wasn’t doing anything it seemed like. I guess he was in the end.” She took a seat in the living room that had an open entrance into the kitchen. She hated smoking and would stay as far as she could while remaining within conversation distance.
“I guess there are a lot of questions so I’ll answer some general ones first. Mel, this is Liam. Liam this is my sister Melody. I am a General in the Negaverse which you are now a part of and have been so for 10 years. That is why I never moved away or did anything big and flashy with my life and money. I needed to keep both things laid low so I could still have both things. You will understand that in time. Now Liam I am sure you probably have some questions as well.” He nodded to the other and smiled a bit, with a bit of nervousness in his eyes. It was hard to keep things together still so this would have to be a bit shorter meeting than probably needed to happen. Just thinking of all the people he lost in 10 years was rough and of course, she would ask about it to twist in the knife.

“He handed over his staches and busied himself while I dumped it all, he was willing to hand it all over.” So he was willing to change, and knew it was needed, he just couldn’t do it himself. “Not many know about the war so of course people think we do nothing meanwhile our nights are nothing if not dangerous.” At least on the nights they went out powered up. He might be a dark mirror but he knew it was dangerous for himself as well. Not all Negaverse agents liked his side nor did all of order.
Seating himself next to Aloysius he leaned back and tilted his head. “I don’t have questions really.” At least nothing he would ask Aloysius around his sister. He knew the other was still hurting so he wouldn’t air out everything, or ask the other to. “I’m newer to the war and rather than being brought into order, or the Negaverse, I was brought into the dark mirror court. We’re chaos, as I said, but different. I can say that what happens does force us all to remain in this city..so it is limiting in what we can do. It’s physically taxing for me at times, the balance between work, sleep and duty. For the other two factions, being the ones really at war, it’ll a lot more. You’ll find that out in time. Plus your sides fight more so it’ll be more emotionally as well, I’d suggest a good support system even if it’s others like yourself…those with experience” Sooner rather than later, he was certain, she’d find out how taxing it all was. She would do well to find others to help her adjust. He knew the dark mirror court was close, and rather tight knit, so there was always help.
“A decade in…I’m still surprised you’ve served that long.” Nodding to Aloysius. That put him at what…seventeen when he joined or there abouts. That was young, not that he was any better really. But it was a long time!

Melody nodded and listened. “I think it’s been a week maybe for me? I really just am figuring it all out but it seems like there's a lot more going on with it than I originally thought. I guess I have yet to see any signs of this war given I’m so new. Does that mean you’ve had to kill people Aloy? I mean you said you’ve seen people die what happened with all that? I guess when I go back to report my draining I can probably ask more questions too if you aren’t about to talk about this all.” She noticed that Aloy tensed at the probing of death, and figured she’d hit a sore subject. She would have to look into that herself or ask someone else about that. She still thought he was weak for turning to liquor but to be fair after their father died he had nobody left in the family to speak with. So having no support system after all the crap he had gone through probably was something to cause him to drink. “Well, what is the mirror thing about?” She turned to Liam instead. “And also how did you guys meet? I don’t think you went to school with him as you look my age I think? It’s hard to tell when there are two giants in the room.”
Chalcanthite absentmindedly squeezed Liam’s hand when she directed that big question at her. He would not be ready for a while to talk about everything in that manner, at least to Melody because she wouldn’t understand. She would say any excuse to drink and not think that it was a valid reason to start. “Ah, a week not long at all. You should probably speak with a friend of mine who is also a General. I think I would rather not have much to do with your training for now given out different approaches to things. I am not answering your other questions about my method but I will say I have done a sufficiently good job in my duties to still be around after all this time has passed. You are very combative like our mother so I think there will be many opportunities to excel in that.” With that, he fiddled with his hand in his lap with the other closer to Liam and waited to see what would happen next.
