Character Basics:

Name: Lydia Lawrence Teach

Nickname: Big Lyds

Gender/Pronoun: She/her

Age: 234 :: 25

Birthday: 1/12/1xxx

Sign: ‘Capricorn’

Gemstone: ‘Garnet’

Blood Type: B-

Fav. Food: All of them

Hated Food: Inedible things

Occupation: Exploring Options

Hobbies:

Eating --
One of the very first experiences Lyds had upon arriving on Earth was a kind resident offering her some fresh food. She has been obsessed ever since, and likes to go to restaurants and other eateries in search of things to try. She is known to follow her nose, and if someone has a window open while they are cooking she may poke her head in. She is very unabashedly outgoing, and may well knock on the front door if she smells something too interesting to ignore. She has no concept of what is or is not good, however, and has to learn everything for herself. There were only a few things to eat on her Homeworld, even at the best of times, and only for energy. It served its purpose, like everything else, and thus things like taste and presentation were not important. Whenever she has a moment spare, she will go exploring for food places to try, or she can be found at the library reading cook books and looking at the pictures. She watches a ton of cooking channels online, and on the television when she can.

Experiences --
From martial arts to coloring books: Big Lyds is fascinated by literally every aspect of Earth life. Her world was vastly different, and having hobbies was a rare thing indeed. Everything was task and purpose oriented: no one did anything just because they wanted to, or could. The idea that someone can just have a whim and then follow it, that things like ‘games’ and ‘hobbies’ exist at all, is brand new and overwhelmingly exciting. She will leap feet first into any new experience, and takes notes of all the things she likes in a notebook she carries around with her everywhere. She calls it her Handbook for the Newly Earthed, though it is mostly written for her own eyes and she only shares it with others to brag or to figure out things she has already done and what is new to her. Trying so many things can get a bit confusing, after all, so it is good to have references.

Virtues:

Facilitative --
Having grown up alone on a world of shadows, Lydia is strangely decisive and can easily take charge when it is needed. Big Lyds has a very big personality, and it allows her to be confident in her decisions and, of course, loud enough to have those decisions heard. She might not be the best at making decisions that turn out well, or fixing things that are broken, but the fact remains that she will always be there to make a decision and get things moving in a direction. Up or down. This trait allows her to rally the troops when she needs to, and in more casual settings it helps her to join in on activities that catch her interest. Or perhaps get some humans to join her in something they might not usually want to do. Somehow, she makes even a terrible idea almost sound like a good one, because she is always one hundred percent behind herself when she speaks.

Confident --
Almost aggressively so, as seen above, Lyds is nothing if not self assured. This also translates to her own self image, and she is almost impossible to embarrass. She is capable of taking almost anything in stride, not bound by the more human ideas of what is normal and what is strange. While she does her best to learn and adapt to the society she is living in, she cannot create those feelings and insecurities, nor does she really understand them. She is supportive of others, at least in this way, as she suddenly believes everyone should be able to do whatever they would like to, as that seems to be the way of things on Earth. On her Homeworld, after all, it was not even a choice, so to her it seems like a true shame that not all humans chase their dreams or take risks with wild abandon. She is a very fun being to be around, if one is looking to get into trouble or to do something new and push some boundaries.

Flaws:

Obtrusive --
Lydia has a habit of inserting herself into situations that do not necessarily involve her. It ranges from knocking on random doors in pursuit of food, to jumping into conversations or joining groups at play in the park. She will sometimes ask to join a stranger on their errands, or join in on loud and interesting conversations. Of course, most of the time, this behavior is met negatively and she is either asked to leave or completely ignored, but she does not take offense to it. She knows enough to go and find somewhere else to try, and not keep pushing. Still, the initial intrusion is generally frowned upon, and most barely know what to do about her showing up out of the blue. It gives her a very confusing aura, even though she is, at the end of the day, mostly harmless.

Egotistical --
Always looking out for number one, ultimately, makes Lydia a very selfish person in the scheme of things. She tends to put her own instincts, her wants and needs, before anyone else even enters the equations, and her choices are often of the ‘me first, others later (if at all)’ variety. She has not only been alone for a long time, but was also a part of a society where a being was simply a part of a whole: no one was individual, and thus no one cared for or did anything for anyone else. One’s existence was isolated, and only to serve a purpose. Free of that, Lydia is overwhelmed by the freedom in front of her, and seeks to absorb it all for herself with the vague idea in the back of her that some day it might be taken from her. While she loves to do things with others, it’s more to be seen, and for them to show her what they are doing, and less because she is trying to help them or going out of her way to be useful to anyone.

Senshi: Sailor Wezen, Senshi of Haunting

User Image

Attacks:

Sailor Scout Attack: Hologram Ghost
Wezen holds up her hands and summons the spectral image of a small ghost. It is unique to each enemy, often inspired by their fears or memories. It screams and lunges at the target, directly at their face. When it connects it passes through its target and dissolves, leaving behind a white hot pain where it made contact for a few seconds. The feeling lingers as the pain fades, a sensation of not being alone in ones own body, of being haunted, and a crawling of the skin taking up the rest of the spells duration.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Fright of Your Life
Wezen is able to summon the spectral image of a much larger ghost, almost full human size, that screams and lunges at its target. It is unique to each enemy, often inspired by their fears or memories. Once it makes contact it disappears and the burning pain it inflicts spreads throughout most of the body. The sensation of being haunted begins with the pain instead of after and lasts the full duration, after the pain fades, and can even be the more intense reaction for some.

Eternal Sailor Attack: It’s Show Time.
Wezen stands still and claps her hands together, a circle of black, yet oddly glowing runes appearing at her feet. A flurry of ghost like shapes, made of magical energy, burst upwards from the circle and then target her opponent. They chase after the enemy and each hit is like being punched by a burning fists, though they leave no physical damage behind. The more hits that connect, the worse the burning pain becomes. Even after the pain fades, the disquieting feeling of something being left behind and haunting the victim remains. The number of ghosts she summons depends on her focus, how much energy she has left in the fight, and if she is attacked during. It can be interrupted, though once summoned the ghosts will either find a target or strike the ground/other objects harmlessly. If there are other senshi or even civilians in the area, they are at risk of being hit if Wezen is unable to maintain her focus on her target.

Deep Space Senshi:

Physical Features:
Wezen has fangs on the top and bottom rows of her teeth, though they are really only visible when she is smiling, yelling, or growling. As she tends to do all of these things quite commonly, it may be easier than she thinks to catch a glimpse of them. They are quite fragule and only used for eating, not biting or hurting anyone. Under her hat she has the remaining trademark of her kind, a broken, twisted horn. It can be broken further so she is very careful with it. Under her bracers, boots and other areas of her body are strange scars from her Homeworld. She is also very tall.

Backstory/History:
The planet of Wezen had never been a nice place to live. In fact, saying anyone ‘lived’ there at all was a bit of a stretch. This was a place where scum and garbage was sent to rot: no lives existed here. Those born here were created to serve a purpose. Those sent here were consigned to misery. No one escaped the planet alive.

No one remembered what being alive was.

Wezen was a prison that no one spoke of. Those that were sent there were stripped of their individuality, their humanity, and made into tools to serve another purpose. They filled spaces, toiled all day at an endless task, and returned to their tiny pods when their energy finally ran out. They were implanted with slits along their body where tubes pumped them full of a substance that kept them moving. Working. So the process started over. Wezen was born to one of the prisoners there. It was not entirely unheard of, breeding sometimes required to maintain the status quo of the work force, but she never knew her true story. She was grown to a strong enough age as everyone else, and once she was ready she was made to join the work force.

A cog in the wheel.

In a flash of light, she was chosen. Her consciousness blinked into being and she thought, for the first time, that she could do something else. She could not follow the same path she did every energy cycle, and she did not have to return to the task she had been slated. She saw herself. She saw the lifeless husks around her. And for a fleeting moment, she saw a chance to change everything.

Everything did change. But it had nothing to do with her awakening.

One by one, the jobs stopped mattering. The beings tasked with those jobs stopped toiling. Stopped moving altogether. No one came to replace them. The nutrients from the pods and vines stopped coming. The trees, already twisted and black, further decayed. The darkness grew thicker. The silence became unbearably heavy. There was nothing left in a world where there had never been much. Shadows swallowed everything, creeping out from under the ground, corrupting everything they touched. The bodies of the fallen tools danced lifelessly under its influence, and in silence chased her. Taunted her.

She chose to fight for a while, but only the bodies fell. The shadows seemed to only grow stronger, and the light she had been given dimmed. She embraced her life in the darkness, existing in a vain effort to one day prove she was more than just a shadow herself, but her hope had long faded. Even as a Senshi, bearing the name of the planet she was doomed to haunt, she felt like she was trapped in a cycle just like before. Then she felt something strange. A call, or a pull. Whatever it was, she answered it almost immediately, reaching out to it with her magic, her spirit, and everything else she could offer.

All at once, she was on Earth.

Thankfully, a kind senshi happened to find her not long after her arrival, and though she is still adjusting to things, she is being sheltered and cared for, though she has a long road ahead of her to fully understand not only this new life, but what life in general really is.
