Tonight the musical review I am in is opening. mrgreen We had our final dress rehearsal last night and it went really well. mrgreen mrgreen We even got standing ovations after a few songs eek (yeah we had a test audience) We had a little bit of mic trouble but apart from that we had no problems. I am way excited for the show tonight and hope the real audience loves it as much as our test one last night.
SO! I would love to hear some fun stories from your own opening nights. Anything funny, sad, scary? I dunno just thought this would be a fun topic.
Also I would love some encouragement for my own show tonight. 3nodding
Have a great day everyone!

Break a Leg ^_^
One year we did Beggar's opera and we had a huge gallows we attached to the one act set.. we practed and practived.. but for some reason it came lose that night (I was mrs. peachum) and as I go to walk up towards the lead suddenly as they star putting the rope on his neck while he stands on a barrel... the whole thing fell forward... our eyes went O.O but other then that we stayed in character through the whole thing....
Supposedly it was our best show ^^;;

Yeah, How did it go?
Opening night of my 1st High School play. Hmmm, Opening night went well but everything before that, not so good. We didn't get to have cue to cue until a few hours before opening. I remember walking down the hall during 3rd period, going to the bathroom or something. My directior (it was a student production) runs up to me and is freaking out. However, it went great.

Opening night went great! mrgreen In fact we only had 4 shows so we closed on Saturday night. We sold out every show!!!! eek eek eek I got flowers at every performance (my living room looks like a floral shop) and I've been asked by a local theater company to work with them in the future. So for someone who wants to do musical theater for thier career it was a great moral booster.
So overall it was a great show and I appreciate all of your geat comments.
Would anyone like to see a picture of me from the show?

Ok gang, this is first time anyone on Gaia has seen what I look like- that's kind of fun ^__^. http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=121800704&context=set-72057594096594238&size=lI am the girl in the picture. This is from the Chicago song, "We Both Reached For the Gun" . I am playing the role of Roxie Hart. The line that is being said here is this: Reporter: "How ya feeling?" Billy as Roxie: "Very frightened" Man was this song fun. mrgreen
