Fav. Food: A sandwich of tomatoes and mozzarella on ciabatta with a pesto spread.
Hated Food: Rare meat. Peas. Most seafood.
School/Occupation: Meadowview High School. Emry is also a competitive figure skater.
Hobbies: Figure Skating – Emry has been on the ice since he was three years old. What began as a way to get him around other kids his age quickly transitioned into regular training once Emry was shown to have an aptitude for it. Since then, he’s competed nationally and internationally with moderate success. Emry isn’t making history, but he places well enough to keep his name in the conversation, and he’s won more than a few medals for his efforts.
His Phone – Like most kids his age, Emry seems to have an unhealthy attachment to his phone. He uses it as a crutch, either to distract himself or to keep himself occupied when he has nothing else to do (or if he wants to look busy when other people seem like they might want to bother him). He’ll scroll through social media, listen to music, stream whatever strikes his fancy, read news articles, fall down a wikipedia rabbit hole, or play mind numbing games. His phone is almost always within reach.
Cross Training – There’s more to figure skating than gliding around the ice. Emry does whatever he can to keep himself in shape and prepared for each season. He takes dance classes to improve his flexibility and musicality. He takes yoga and pilates classes for core stability and balance. He can often be found at the gym, either on one of the bikes or engaging in some suspension training. During the summer, Emry likes to swim for endurance.
Virtues: Committed – Emry learned at a young age that commitment can often lead to success. He sets goals for himself and has the determination to reach them. He doesn’t shy away from putting in the time and effort necessary to get him there. Emry has an impressive work ethic for someone his age, and a single-minded focus to carry him through. He isn’t easily distracted and devotes himself to his obligations, often without complaint.
Responsible – With much of his attention focused elsewhere, Emry doesn’t have the time for normal teenage shenanigans. He grew up fast out of necessity, which has given him a sense of responsibility not always shared by his peers. Emry goes to practice and keeps up with his studies without being harassed. He follows the rules and procedures for any given situation. He can take care of himself in a variety of circumstances, without putting himself into a position to need much assistance.
Persistent – If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Emry isn’t the type to give up or back down from a challenge. He may take his time, or retreat long enough to regroup, but once he has a game plan he gets right back to whatever endeavor he’s put his mind to. Emry is a firm believer in the idea that you can’t get anywhere in life without falling a few times, you just have to know the proper way to fall in order to avoid as much damage as possible. Getting up after is the true test.
Flaws: Insensitive – Emry can be judgmental of others; he expects a lot from himself, and has been known to project similar expectations onto other people. He can be crass when annoyed, aloof when he’s nervous, and unresponsive when someone has angered him. Sometimes, Emry has a hard time putting himself in somebody else’s shoes. It isn’t that he lacks empathy, he simply doesn’t completely understand how other people think, feel, or behave, and he hasn’t always made the effort to try.
Obstinate – Getting Emry to do something he doesn’t want to do can be a bit like talking to a brick wall; similarly, talking him out of something can be next to impossible. He knows what he wants and will do whatever it takes to get it. If he holds an opinion about something, it can take a lot to change his mind. Emry is headstrong to a fault, often to the detriment of himself and others.
Impetuous – Emry feels emotions strongly, and expresses them through various outbursts and abrupt changes of mood. He has been known to act without thinking, making hasty decisions based on what he wants or how he feels more than any deep thought or plan. That isn’t to say he’s incapable of deep thought or planning, but if he comes to a decision quickly, chances are he might jump right in instead of waiting long enough to determine the possible consequences.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTIONEyes: Light hazel, often narrowed with fatigue or a case of bad temper.
Hair: Blond, straight, shoulder length, Emry’s hair is well cared for and a testament to his (only partially) hidden vanity.
Face: Heart-shaped, with soft features set in a stern expression.
Skin Tone: Pale caucasian; he might sport a more rosey color if he spent more time outdoors.
Body Type: 5’6”. Thin but athletic, with long limbs. Better lower body strength than upper. Excellent posture.
Clothes: Basic jeans, t-shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts. He loves thumb holes on his long sleeved tops. Athletic wear for skating. His secret love for sparkly things only comes out when it comes to his costumes.
