A series of coughs left Reaghan has he walked. The boy moved so that his arm covered his mouth, as he'd been taught. When he was done he cleared his throat and looked around to see where his brother had gotten off to. He was tired of sitting around the house and wanted to go out and do something. Maybe even play a game or two.
A deep breath in and he coughed it out. Reaghan knew he wouldn't be able to stay out too long in the cold. He'd more than likely get sick again. But he was so bored.
So he headed to the tree line by their house and toward the familiar tree that he and his brother had climbed since they were little.

With some help from a few friends and townsfolk, Eirex was hard at work trying to complete the treehouse. The main structure had of course been completed with supervision to make sure it was stable, but he was intent on getting everything else done himself. It wasn't the most elaborate treehouse, though he could have easily afforded something bigger and fancier. He needed something he could manage instead, and had only two requirements; that the space be warm and comfortable for his twin. He was acutely aware each time he went outside to burn off energy or run errands, and his brother wasn't able to go with him. Their parents had been keeping Reaghan inside for a while now. Surely he was hungry for some freedom! It was his duty as a twin to help. He was currently busy hanging curtains over the false windows. It wasn't going to be fancy, but that didn't mean it couldn't be nice~

Spotting some movement Reaghan made his way quicker. "Eirex." He called out. "You want to do something fun for a bit?" By the time he was done speaking the iceling had made it to the base of the tree and was looking up in expectation. He was hoping his twin would want to do something together for a bit, before he got too chilled and had to go inside. Or before their parents caught him and made him return indoors. "I think I have a bit of time before mother and father tell me to go inside."

His eyes widened at the call. "Reaghan? What're you-?" He poked his head out the entry to look down. His expression made an attempt at being stern.. but soon enough spread into a grin. How could he scold his twin for wanting some fun? "What're you asking for? Of course I do!" He tossed the hammer aside and slid down the rope ladder. "The place is coming along good. We'll be able to hang out there soon and you won't have to worry one bit about the weather." His grin grew as he patted his twin's shoulder. "What do you want to do?"

He gave a sarcastic roll of his eyes before he smiled at his brother. As his twin joined him on the ground he looked up at the treehouse that was being built. "Still don't know why you are spending so much time on it. You could be doing something else with your time." Reaghan loved that his twin wanted to make something for him to enjoy but he worried that Eirex would get worn out from it. Feeling the hand on his shoulder made him bring his eyes back down to look at his brother, a smile taking shape. "Anything that takes away my boredom." Being in the house all the time was so dull and he needed a little bit of excitement.

Eirex's brow knit briefly, but he shook it off and smiled brightly. "Are you serious? This tree house is going to be awesome! A home away from home. Especially when mom and dad get annoying." Not that he would ever say such a thing within earshot of those parents, of course. "We'll be able to hang out there all day when I'm done; just you and me." Something to take away the boredom... "Hey, why don't we shoot at targets with our bows? It's been a while since we've done that." He grinned playfully. "Bet I can hit more than you."

Cornetified I thought i replied to this already. My bad. D8 Reaghan snorted again. "Get annoying? Aren't they always?" More so to him and definitely lately. He was more prone to catch a chill now than ever before. "Just don't get burnt out working on it." He stared at the tree house for a moment longer then looked at the ground. The idea to shoot their bows only made him grin. "That's hardly fair Eirex. You could hit more than me before." They were bother okay with a bow and arrow but his brother had always been the better shot. Reaghan didn't have their mothers talent for it.

Eirex laughed, and then quickly muffled it with a cautious look around. One never knew when a parent might be lurking nearby! Especially with Reaghan being outside. "See? All the more reason for the treehouse." He let out a soft sigh and nodded. "Dad and the guys from town did the hard part anyway with the frame." He had liked the idea of doing everything himself, but he also wanted to walk in it without the whole thing falling apart from amateur construction. He chuckled lightly and waved his hand. "Not the bow, then. Unless you'd like to start decorating the inside of the treehouse, is there something special you want to do?" Heras Box I do that all the time <3

Reaghan was pleased he got his twin to laugh. Though as Eirex looked around, so did he just to make sure. When neither parent was spotted he relaxed a bit. "I'm surprised Dad got dirty." Usually their father was very proper and clean and didn't do much to stain his clothing. Their mother on the other hand.. she was the one he would believe would do messy things. "Not sure what to decorate with." He admitted. After all, most of what was in their room Eirex had picked out because Reaghan hadn't cared either way. He gave it a bit more thought before he smiled. "I have a few coin, lets walk down to the shops and get a treat. I kinda want something sweet." It wasn't exactly a fun game or anything but it would give them both time away from the house and they could pick something out they both liked.

A snort of a laugh was muffled quickly. "It's pretty rare, isn't it? Not too much dirt involved though." Both boys knew their father as a business man and had understandably little knowledge of his more physical side considering how little he expressed it. "It's for us though. Of course he'd want to know all the details to make sure it's up to his standards." The idea of a treat brought out a grin. "Ooh, that sounds good. Let me put the tools away first in case I don't get back to it today." He scurried up to the treehouse to secure the tools away. While one day in the shelter wouldn't hurt them, he didn't want to risk any blemishes on the set the workers had given him to use. Back on the ground, he looked his brother over. "Will you be warm enough?"

As his brother mentioned putting away the tools he nodded his head and waited. There was no reason to rush Eirex. Once his twin came back down he smiled and took a few steps toward him so that they could walk side by side. At the question of his warmth he paused to look down at what he was wearing. It was a bit warmer today than it had been and he didn't think he'd get too cold. So he nodded. "I should be fine." Wearing a grin he hooked his arm with his twin's and pulled him along weakly. "Come on. The longer we take the more cold I'll get." He hadn't put on his super heavy coat but the one he had would work plenty well for the walk to the shops and back.

Eirex gave a little smile and a nod as they headed off toward town. He couldn't help worrying at least a little for his brother's health. Surely the walk would do the both of them some good though! "Mr. Harmen at the sweet shop was advertising some type of special hot chocolate drink. That would be good try!" A two for one to chase off the chill and indulge in a sweet treat.

As they walked and Eirex mentioned the special hot chocolate drink he smiled. "Well that'll be perfect. It can warm me up before we head back home." So then they wouldn't have to worry so much about him getting cold. "If its good enough maybe we can convince mom to try making it at home." He shrugged his shoulders slightly. Their mother was alright with cooking so it was worth a shot. If nothing else they might be able to ask their dad to simply bring it home once in a while when he came back from work. "You think Aunt Sylviah has tried it?"

Eirex nodded lightly. He would certainly feel better knowing Reaghan had a boost of warmth waiting in town. He would appreciate the heat for himself as well. "Hit two birds with one stone, as they say." He pursed his lips slightly. "As boring as it is, I prefer dad's saying of getting two sales with one customer. It's a bit less.. violent." He cocked his head to think for a moment and shook his head. "I wouldn't be surprised if she hasn't. She's always up north so much. She would probably want one of those 'stronger' drinks anyway." He smirked and playfully nudged Reaghan's arm. "We're older now. Do you think Mr. Harmen would let us try a little with the strong stuff?"

He squinted a bit at the saying, though he had to agree with his brother. Their father's saying made more sense. Of course it was less violent too. But he figured it was likely because they grew up around the store and hearing about how many sales their father made each day. "I like it better." And who threw stones at birds anyways? Their mother used arrows and not to hit things just because. When he heard his twin mention that their aunt liked the stronger drinks he laughed. "Yeah but is it warm?" Reaghan tilted his head after he was nudged, thinking. "Not sure. Maybe? If we asked?"
