He was out in the water having a blast trying his hand at spear fishing. So long as the sharks didn't come he would be okay to fish here. He respected sharks, from a nice distance.
He was eager to get some good protien from these fertile fishing grounds. It was a good day when there were fish in the sea and he had some time to spend in the sea instead of the dirt.
He loved gardening but it was fun to get out too into the water and enjoy himself.

Fajra 1
Fajra was out for a leisure swim, she had to channel her night energy in another way when she wasn’t taking proper lady lessons from her mom, she was glad they today she got a day to just relax. She swam about before diving underwater to swim some more and once she was closer to shore she popped her head to the surface.
She blinked as she spotted a boat on the water, curious to know she swam over but keeping a good distance away from the boat, just to be on the safe side she may be clumsy and high energy but her mom taught her to be weary of strangers and this particular one she had not seen before.

He had just caught a triggerfish by speargun when he turned to promtly deal with his catch, he would have to move a ways down the reef before targeting another fish as it would quickly draw in predators who might take a shake at him given half the chance. He was not the more terrifying thing in these waters but so long as he was careful he should be safe enough.
He saw a figure swimming nearby. Curious to have someone about so late. Their was barely enough light for him to fish by. Not the greatest conditions but darn if he was eating vegetarian again tonight.

Fajra 2
Fajra swam a tad closer to the figure on the boat, it was dark so staying at distance was not working for her at all. She blinked before she stuck her head up from the surface a bit more, now that she was closer her eyes adjusted to the darkness and make out a silhouette of a figure on the boat.
Once she could figure out some of the features she spoke up "What brings you out on the water so late?" she asked, as the waves bobbed her up and down as she lingered.

He waved in a friendly fashion and idly wondered if she was a siren. It was an old old tale but well, it wasn't often someone stalked you while you were fishing, she was probably just curious.
Her hair was reddish so she was not Matorian, as he drifted a bit closer he saw that she was a leafer.
"Spearfishing, and I was a bit too busy during the day to get out on the reef here." His plants had needed trimming, he always started his plants indoors early to get a jump on the planting season.

She smiled and waved back before holding onto the rim of the boat "do you mind if I hang on?" I don't want the waves to sweep me away" she said, using both hands to hold onto it. "I feel like it would be much more productive if you came out during the day maybe?" she suggested, but that was just her opinion.
She didn't want to force her opinions about how she would do things, each to their own, so she tilted her head to the side "did you catch anything?" she asked him politely.

“This is true however I won’t have tome during the day for a while, there is always stuff to donin a garden the size of mine and this is crunch time. Planting and tending and well you dont want to hear about that little mermaid. Your welcome to cling for as long as you need. I just caught a trigger fish, they are good eating let me tell you.”
He held up the fish, the moonlight now glinting of its scales. “Bit sketchier swimming at night.”

She tilted her head to the side thoughtfully "is it usually because of springtime?" she asked him, she knew very little about gardening, but she didn't do much of it herself. She pulled herself up a bit resting her elbows on the rim of the boat "I would not know, I have never had Triggerfish" she told him.
She blinked, did he just call her a mermaid, she was no such thing. "That just means less activity than it is during the day. To be fair swimming in the dark has its own romantic parts to it" she told him. "name is Fajra, What's yours?" she asked him.

"Yes it is to do with spring thats when many seeds are planted and the waiting is both boring and scintillating, but I get a head start on the season and grow inside earlier."
"Oh then you haven't lived! It is delish battered and fried. Let me get some more then I can share, you can take it back to your family."
He held up the triggerfish for her inspection.
"Real simple batter, and hot oil and you get golden brown perfection."

Fajra nodded her head "I haven't done any gardening myself, so I could not relate" she told him admittedly. Now she was starting to get cold, "umm...mind if I hop into your boat, I'm starting to get a little cold from being in the water," she asked him. Her towel and such were back on the shore, and she was currently busy talking to someone, she didn't want to be rude.
She looked at the Triggerfish in the evening light, she had to squint a bit to see what it looked like. "I look forward to trying it for the first time," she told him lightly with a smile.

“Sure! Hop on in! I have a spare towel if you need it.” He always brought two just in case one got really soaked. “I have to move the boat aways before I can fish again, I can bring you back to shore when we are done?”
It was kinda nice having company for a change. He spent a lot of time working and on his own with occassional visits with his friends but they had lives too.

"Thanks," she said before using her arms as leverage to pull herself out of the water and onto his boat sitting across from him, being careful not to capsize his boat "Could I actually get the spare towel, mine is back at the shore," she told him. She liked the company, and he seemed nice enough, and he didn't mind her company, if he did he would have said something earlier.
She nodded her head "That's fine, I don't mind the company" she told him with a small smile. To be honest, she was sorta getting hungry too, so running into him on the water was a blessing in disguise.

She did look rather cold. "Of course," he dug around and brought out the towel. "Water certainly sucks away body heat."
It was never a great thing to get chilled.
"I'll start moving us over." He took up the oars and paddled over to the other side of the reef. "I'll go get us another fish." He carefully sent himself over the side and turned in the water. "You will be alright for a moment?"

"very much appreciated," she said before unfolding the towel and wrapping it around her shoulders "It definitely does, might make myself some hot chocolate once another fish is caught," she told him, she always felt better after a hot shower or a mug of hot chocolate. "When I get home, I will wash your towel and give it back you," she told him, she wasn't in a rush to get home being in and on the water was calming.
She nodded her head as he informed her that he was starting to move them over to another spot to fish for another for their dinner. She watched him carefully shift to the other side and turn. "Yup, I'm fine," she told him with a light smile.

It wasnt all the time that one found a mysterious visitor put in the open but he didnt sense any untoward vibes from her so he would treat her as he would any guest.
He dove and started to hunt for another fish, it might be nice to have someone over for dinner. He lived a somewhat lonely life. Most of his friends had heard or were a part of all of his stories.
He checked around having to go back to the surface occassionally to breath. Finally he caught another fish with the spear gun and paddled his butt back to the boat.
“Got one! And it should be big enough we wont need more.”
