Astrasol was wandering about the market, once again surrounded by the superficial women who tittered about like little birds. It was such a tiring scene, so much so that she had become numb to it. She began to enjoy her nightly escapades with Solari, plotting about until they fell asleep. More often than not she found herself walking in the early hours of the morning, the bed cooling as the woman was gone.

Glancing at the items in the boutique, the seller pushing the newest style that was clearly not going to stick, Astrasol became distracted as the birds around her grew quiet, before hissing about at the sight of something outside.

Turning, her brow raised slowly as she realized what was happening - a wayward fish had found its way to the Belrean mainland. How interesting.

Irirangi was wandering about in amazement. It had only been a few short days since she walked off the boat and onto Belrea, and she was amazed. Nothing could have prepared her for the shock of the culture, the people, and the atmosphere. But she didn't let it shake her, in fact she was very eager and excited to speak to anyone who crossed her path.

Too bad there was a bit of a language barrier.

She was a little rough on the common language of the land, and found herself a bit embarassed if she had to admit that she didn't know how to communicate well with the people. She really would need to do her research so she could begin her task of documenting and learning about the world around her.

Well if anyone could do it, it was her.

Astrasol flipped her hair over her shoulder, the long ponytail curling slightly as her eyes narrowed at the tall creature. It was amazing how different they were compared to earthlings, with the markings and size. Truly, they were a marvel and Astrasol found a little bit of jealousy. She was used to being the unique, eyecatching thing in the area, so she felt her jaw clench at the awe the men showed this thing.

"Do you think it swam here?" One of the chittering birds around her snickered, the others giggling and adding to the mockery.

Astrasol rolled her eyes, oh how stupid were the girls she surrounded herself with?

Rangi caught sight of the gaggle of giggling women, and her eyes brightened immediately. They seemed friendly enough, and she rushed over as she pulled out her notepad she picked up at the last village. It had a nice leather cover and the paper was an interesting texture. Not quite a tome, but it was her own and she was excited to use it.

"Hello!" She chirped in the common tongue, looking over each of them and admiring their warm coloring. But the one girl in the middle stood out the most, with her silvery hair and alluring makeup.

"Oh my gosh, she speaks common!" Another one of the girls gasped in shock, eyes wide as they broke down in comments in the local language. It was laughable, and Astrasol would have cringed in horror if she were anyone else. Instead, she cooly held up her hand, silencing her lacky group as she stepped forward and looked at the fluffy haired girl.

Being this close to the girl only heightened her innocent beauty, the markings shimmering and reminding her of someone else, a lover that was not such a distant memory. Hmm yes, much like the waterlings of the south, but taller, graceful, and somewhat of a shifter glow.

"Are you lost, little dove?" she asked slowly, also in common.

She felt her expression soften at the fact the girl stepped forward and spoke in the common language. She had no idea who this person was, but considering the group she was with, she must have been popular enough. Plus the make-up was interesting, unique and stood out. Maybe she was royalty, or an actress. She had heard that this land was known for their stage plays.

"Oh no..." She said as she pulled her hands through her curls, smiling brightly and with confidence, "I'm actually traveling and working on writing stories about the sights, scenes, and people I run into! Though the language barrier has been a bit...tough..."

Turning back toward her posse, Astrasol silently shooed them away.

"Be dears and go check for any packages at the jewelers. I'm expecting an order to be completed. I'll be along shortly." She purred in the local language, "I'm going to send this girl off our trail."

The other girls giggled and waved teasingly at Irirangi before sauntering off, and Astrasol let out a soft sigh. Finally, silence.

Or so she hoped, turning back toward the younger woman before her.

"A fledgling traveler hoping to write about her grand adventures. How...admirable."

Not sure what they were speaking about, Rangi waved all the same as the girls smiled and rushed off. It was a little weird that the whole group wasn't sticking around, but maybe they didn't speak common. At least they seemed to not understand or have any desire speaking about it. As the pretty one turned back around, she smiled brighter before digging into her travel pack and pulling out one of her many notebooks and a new pen she got from a local. Such a novel invention she already was planning to write about.

"Thank you very much!" she replied, looking back up, "I'm Irirangi, but you can call me Rangi. Pleasure to meet you!"

Oh how cute, she had a little notebook and everything. What a dedicated little thing. Unfortunately, Astrasol had no need for a personal narrator in her life, she was doing just fine writing her own story each and every day. And so, she needed to send this girl off on her way, hopefully far enough to not cross paths again. It was too much noise and too much attention taken off of her, and Astrasol was always one who desired attention.

"Uh huh..." She paused, debating a long moment if she should offer her own name in return, "Astrasol, though there's no need to write it down. I don't give statements." She finished with a tight smile.

"Oh....right..." She replied quickly, her pen and notebook quickly being placed back in her bag as she snapped her hands behind her back to keep them still. This wasn't the first time she was told something such as that, so she found it easy to keep her bright expression on her face none the less. After all, she was determined, driven, and would eventually find that person to give her the story she was looking for.

"Erm..." She popped her lips as her eyes spiraled around, "Such a shame, but it is nice to meet you, Astrasol. Maybe you could point me in the right direction of a potential scoop?"

"Oh darling," she responded soothingly, "Hard work is the best reward, especially for someone looking to develop and grow." She cooed as she brushed her own hair away.

"Though I'm not so unreasonable to not share a little tip or two. You did make quite an effort to find someone, and I don't mind rewarding you for selecting the right someone."

After all, she was one of the most in the knows she knew, or at least she prided herself on being.

Another request denied. Maybe she needed to do more observational studies first. Work on writing a book and getting her name out before these higher level persons would be willing to speak. Her posture was deflated for a moment before she perked up at the offer.

"Oh that would be amazing!" What luck, not a total turn down for once!

Glancing toward the store she had sent her posse to, she noticed them walking back out and glancing her way. Shaking her head, she looked back toward her temporary companion and blinked at how excited she had become. Yes, it was time for a graceful disengagement.

"There is a grand academy that has many who are willing to share their research. You might be lucky enough to sit through one of their lectures as well."

Flipping her hair a bit, she smiled tightly, "Now run along." she said with a wave, turning and walking past the stranger without another thought. She had some shopping to do, and already was exhausted from the chittering she most likely would get upon encountering her overeager gaggle of friends.

Quickly writing down her notes on the recommendation, she nodded eagerly as her hair bounced with the excitement. This was the lead she needed, the excitement she could follow and the story she could tell. By the time Astrasol had told her to move along, she glanced up only to see the dark skinned girl walking away.

"Thank you!" she shouted eagerly, getting a few glances before she turned and walked away.

It wasn't until about five minutes later she realized she hadn't gotten instructions on how to get the academy.

"...oh shoot." back to the drawing board.
