Crossing Paths

Tendaji may not be bustling like the cities of ages past, but that doesn't mean someone can live their life without encountering someone else who is a bit...different. What is the story of you meeting a person who is going in the opposite direction. Maybe they are traveling and you meet in a cross roads, or maybe they are settling down to start a family while you're getting ready to leave. Or possibly it's someone with such a different personality it's like oil and water. This is your chance to tell us that story and what happens when you cross paths.
[ This prompt is all about crossing paths - briefly and of characters who wouldn't normally find themselves interacting with each other. Explore what happens when two people who are going in opposite directions (figuratively or literally) find themselves briefly encountering one another. We would like to see strangers meet on this one, so take some time to bring your characters out of their comfort zones. ]

The busy streets were too crowded for her comfort so she moved toward a side road that looked to be less inhabited. There were still people about but not as much and they certainly shouldn't end up bumping into her ever fourth step. Akeldama sighed with some frustration at having to play nice with the earthlings for now. She needed to get some supplies and then she'd be on her way, plain and simple. Or at least, it should have been that simple. Unfortunately she must have picked a day where everyone was out in droves to do their shopping.

She wasn't sure why she'd been talked into going to Yael of all places but here she was. Nykinae scrunched her nose up at the place. Mostly because it was nothing like home. Nothing ever compared to home and yet she continued to travel.
For now she was browsing a side street, looking at the wares that were being offered. Her goal was to eventually make it to the main street so that she could find a new outfit to match the climate and the locals. However, given how crowded it was she was content to slowly make her way there.

Before she could fully exit the main street onto the side road she felt someone bump into her. With a grunt she was shoved forward and turned her head to snarl at them. Of course she had to stumble a bit to keep upright, which meant she was likely to run into someone else.
When she felt the sure sign of her tall frame bumping into another she groaned and lifted her gaze toward the sky. Why had she chosen today to get supplies? Why had she chosen this city? She could have easily walked to another within a few hours.

She was happily minding her business and taking her time when she got bumped into. A huff left her as she righted her footing. When she was no longer in danger of stumbling she turned an annoyed expression on the offender. Of course she was met with chest and had to look up to find their face.
That made her mood even worse. "Excuse you. Learn to walk." The attitude came out without her even trying. She didn't like when people didn't understand personal space while in a marketplace.

Hearing the rude comment from the earthling that had bumped into her made her eye twitch just a little. Why was it that they never had manners? And the ones that were rude were too afraid to answer a simple question. Akeldama let out a sigh and shook her head slightly before she looked down at the earthling. "I walk just fine. Grow taller so someone can see you." She tossed snark right back at what she could now identify was a female.
"I assure you, if I had seen you then I would have avoided you." And that was the truth. If it had been another sister that she could clearly see then she'd have side stepped at the very least.

Did she hear that right? This rude person just told her she needed to grow taller in order to not be bumped into? Nykinae brought her hands up to rest on her hips as she glared. "I am plenty tall enough. If you weren't freakishly tall then you wouldn't have a problem. What are you even doing here? Doesn't your kind stick to the woods?" She scoffed slightly.

She bent down so that she was right in the earthling's face. "My kind are free to go where they please. We typically avoid the worthless though, you're right." Akel curled her lip up slightly as she straightened up. She made a shooing motion toward the female to get her to move away. She really didn't want to deal with them any longer. Akel had things to do after all and the sooner she got them done the sooner she could go home.

Being called worthless was enough to make her angry and her face heated up because of it. Just who did this woman think she was? She was dressed in rags it looked like and had pain all over her face. How did that make her any better than Kina with her clean look? It didn't! When the woman made a shooing motion she arched a brow at her. "Keep your dirty hands away from people before you get them sick." She huffed and moved to cross her arms over her chest as she turned her head to look to the side. She wasn't going anywhere. This big oaf of a woman could go around her.

Get people sick? Akel blinked at that. She didn't get people sick. She poisoned them. If she didn't out right stab them with her spear. Her free hand came up to rub at her temple as she took a slow deep breath. "You won't get sick from my hands but you might die."
As he hand dropped away she leveled a glare at the female. "Move away so I can go about my business."

Die? Had this woman threatened her? Kina unfolded her arms from her chest and let them fall to her sides, balling her hands into fists. Of all days for her to leave her spear in her room. She would have liked to test her skills against this woman to see who would win. "If you have somewhere to be then you can go around. I was clearly walking here first." There was no way she was going to give in now.

This female was just proving why she didn't like earthlings. They were rude or too dumb for their own good. She didn't understand her daughters and their want to travel the earthling world. Though she could understand if they wanted to go visit the other Mother Trees. Even if she wasn't sure the earthling interaction was worth it.
So she moved her spear from one hand to the other, mindful of her other things. "If you want to prove all of my sisters right and be worthless, then very well. Always knew earthlings weren't much." She snorted and straightened up so that she could walk around the female.

"Earthlings aren't worthless, its you and your kind that are." She couldn't understand how some people thought the Aishan's were interesting. Though she supposed she did need to give some credit to the hybrids. At least they had some sense within them.
"Be sure not to trip or run into someone else. You might actually break something next time." She snipped at Akel.

The more she listened to this earthling speak the more she wanted to use her weapon. But she'd made it a point to cover the spear head with a cloth so as to be less dangerous. So Akel bit her tongue and simply settled for a glare before she stepped to the side and moved around the female. She'd said all she could. That particular earthling just made it to where she didn't want to deal with any more of them. Amazing how that worked out. Still, she had business to do before she could go home.

When the woman didn't say anything else but seemed to take her advice and move along she smirked. It was a half win though. Kina felt insulted either way. One she'd been bumped into without an apology and the words the Elaria had said. So she needed to fix her mood. Best way to do that was to go shopping. It seemed she just went from looking to buying in an instant. She huffed and moved along so that she could have some retail therapy.
