It was his two days off from working with Kecheri. He was doing some maintenance when a familiar thump to the deck brought his head up.
" I thought criterion that that I told you to take a day off did I not?" he smirked. Girl was a hard worker. He'd give her that. He looked around but what he saw was a small male with most familiar features.
"You'd be the brother than?" he smirked. "Wondered if you'd ever show up."

"Thought I'd come by and see what my sister is up to 24/7, brotherly duty and all that," he yawned. Fiening disinterest he looked about himself. Ships were so cool. His sister had the coolest job. "She got to be a sailor then?" He had heard the rumors he did not want to believe them of his beloved sister. He hoped it was just Sailor or water magic.

"I'm afraid it's not quite that simple." He said, "Would you care for tea young one?"
He had heavy words and cautions for the small boy that loved his sister. She was fighting her own demons. He would do best to choose anything but what his sister did, anything. He also could see the deep hero worship in the boy. How far would the boy be willing to go to protect his sister? Would he be able to protect himself from her if her will failed her? He didn't think it would. But one could never be completely sure.

" Sugar and cream please." He swung a chair out and sat down with a thunk. He was down for tea. It was grandma's favorite thing to do, he looked around with curiosity and launguidity. He came from a long line of scary and refused to hide his confidence from the world. The world would be his oyster and he would go after the best pearls.

Something deep inside him raised its head at another (perhaps one day) worthy opponent.Tthe son had gotten the same kind of steel that the father and daughter had. No push over him. Perhaps it was a good thing. Perhaps it is what she needs. He was going to be her biggest competition for her own good. Would it be good enough to survive until her moral compass realigned again?

The old man sure had a serious look on his face. He looked like he'd been going to say something but had changed his mind at last minute. Ushiruin wondered what he was thinking, he was his sister's teacher and so must be uber smart or she wouldn't have tolerated him. Kechiri tolerated little of anything, if there was any way to get around it. She was slippery like an eel. The tea was good and he peered at the tea leaves hoping for answers.

"My mother reads tea leaves. You are not supposed to read your own, let's switch."
He took the younglings empty cup and traded it for his own with all of that rampant ancient magic in his family. Theriar believed that the lad could indeed read tea leaves. He swirled the last of the liquid away and peered inside Ushiruin's cup.

He stared at his sister's wise teacher. "What is it? You want to tell me? Just say it no need to beat around the bush. He looked deeply into Theriar's teacup.
"An ascendance though you won't know that you have for a few years. There was a tall, elegant bird shaped too so your moves should be thoughtful and well carried out, as perfect as possible to ensure a great fortune."
Theriar had his own cup. He wanted more tea after the reading.

Well, he was horribly direct and to the point, wasn't he? "Your sister's very competitive. I just want you to keep an eye out on her. She hasn't forgiven the world for stealing her sister and she is yet unpredictable."
The lad could take it as it was. Theriar believed in her, but wanted to be sure, she was trying to become a pirate after all, perhaps for the right reasons, but still, "I'm sure everything will be fine. I'm sure the good will work."
He often wondered what it would been like to have siblings, people that were a part of you and shared in your upbringing.

" I understand so far as I can if she had her sister taken from her. And if the same were to happen to me, I wouldn't be okay. That's also how I know that she wouldn't hurt me because she loves me despite my ability to compete with her on her own level." He knew Kechi better than Theriar knew that she had dad and mom's core very well. Uncle Thal survived their father and Tethys too for that matter. She knew if anything happened to him. She would never forgive herself.

Well, if the youngest son has not just put them in his place straight up. This family wasted no words no effort, just brutal efficiency. He suppose that was understandable if occasionally abrasive. "Well, so long as you understand her, I think that's what matters." He looked into the boys cup and saw just about what they had discussed. He poured more tea in it. And had sat back to try again. "We already know."

He took the cup looking at the man suspiciously but drank the tea again hoping with each delicious sip that it would bring good fortune to his life. He would achieve what he needed to, effortlessly and with hard work but it would happen and it would make the whole family proud including his sister then he would carve out a nice niche for himself and live out his life as a happy little pirate as planned.

He accepted the boys empty cup again. "Yes, I see great fame and glory will be yours as long as you have a good job and protect your heart. Reminds me of an old pirate legend about a man cursed enough to set foot on land for years at a time I love the sea but even I crave for solid land after long time on the waves." Like the long kahikinian voyage where they in had burned down for example, how quickly they had gotten back on the boat.

" I see classic hero tail then, hopefully I don't get cursed." Curses were completely real and he didn't want to tempt fate or anything like that. There were enough of those kinds of stories and he was not about to be in one of them if he could at all avoid it. "Let's go for classic Happy Ending please."

"That my lad greatly depends on you and the amount of effort and resources and luck that you can put toward forth towards your job". It had taken him years to get as proficient with his own job as he was. Ushi obviously wanted to be a pirate which was partly the same job if a touch spicier than fishing. Fish fought back usually less vigorously than pirates unless you got a Marlin those were pretty sporty and he had been dog tired after he fought one once. Respectable fish that
