Sailor Beatrix, basic Negaverse Senshi.
It was an unassuming name that'd caught Chrysocolla's attention one day, looking through old tournament rosters -- and, generally, when she looked into it further, Beatrix did seem unassuming. She'd been recruited some years back, it looked like, and she'd been part of some of the tournaments, and then she'd just... faded. Nobody had mentioned her in the Database as a potential traitor; in fact, nobody really seemed to recognize the name. Whoever had recruited her, they apparently hadn't stuck around long -- or if they had, they really hadn't been very impactful.
It was a big assumption, to assume she was still in town, but it wasn't like Chrysocolla really lost out on anything if she was wrong. People who faded out like this after recruitment usually either just stopped thinking about the Negaverse, too weak to be considered much of a lost cause or to harass unless their superiors wanted to do it; it was that or they left town and the Negaverse lost track of them. If it was that, sometimes they never came back. But... five years, give or take. That was in that perfect timeframe for someone to come back after studying away.
She wrote up a quick message, then, and sent it to Beatrix via Negaverse Tablet; if Beatrix never got it and never responded, than Chrysocolla had lost nothing but a minute of time, and she's gotten info, even if it wasn't useful.Quote: Hello! Are you Sailor Beatrix? I'm sorry to bother you, but I've been checking on people who were recruited a few years ago that never got the training and attention they should have gotten. If you actually get this message, let me know when you're free. I'd like to talk with you! I promise it's nothing bad, but I was in your position once, and I know I got pretty lost sad So I want to help you out! Negaverse Sailor Chrysocolla That... seemed like a good mix of casual and respectful, didn't it? She thought it sounded fine. Now to just give it a few hours and see if she got any response; Chrysocolla was busy making some changes to her office, so all she needed to do was leave the tablet on her desk and hope for a response.Sara Drac0nia sorry this took so long!!

Beatrix felt her communicator buzz for the first time in a long time. She took it out and looked at the message, Sailor Chrysocolla? She hadn’t heard the name in the past but she really never got the time to look much into things between classes and exams. Maybe the could answer some of those lingering questions she had about everything since she had never really gotten an explanation for a lot of what was going on. She typed out a response that felt stuffy and formal to her, it was probably best to stay one their good side for now and feel if they would vibe with her normal way of speech. Quote: Yes this is Sailor Beatrix, I am free now or later today if you are busy with something currently. That is correct about training, I only received battle training through a tournament and had no mentor. I look forward to speaking with you in person. -SB With that send she made sure took a shower to get the lazy day grime off her and to look more presentable. Though with her tattered uniform that was hard, not that she cared much. It suited her in the end, lazy and not one to care much about appearances unless it really mattered. All that was extra effort she really didn’t want to deal with unless she absolutely had to. Now she waited, when and where would they meet? Hopefully it wouldn’t be too far away.

Okay! Okay. Now she was able to move forward from there. Beatrix's response felt a little stilted, maybe, but Chrysocolla had a feeling it was probably just... someone being formal and responding in kind. Had she been too formal? Oh, hopefully she hadn't been; as much as she could be polite and formal when she needed to be, she didn't enjoy it, and more than anything it just ended up being irritating when she had to do it to people who couldn't give her orders.
So Chrysocolla spent some time fretting, making sure her office looked orderly enough to summon someone in: it didn't look particularly personalized, but it looked nice, in a detached magazine-model kind of way. She didn't really know what it should look like, but this had seemed fine when she'd first thought about it.
And then she reached out, focused, and pulled. It shouldn't hurt. Probably. It'd been a long time since she'd been summoned this way, and it wasn't like she really did it herself to other people very often.
All the same... she felt unsure. She knew why she was feeling that way -- since Faustite, she'd really never tried to lead. She should. There were Generals and Eternals less suited for it than Chrysocolla was, she knew that much; she was good at being an instrument of war. It suited her. Special Operations suited her. But it had taken her years away from Destiny City and away from any direct command to even understand it was possible for her, and even now she still just wanted to ask Hessonite for a daily chore list or something, but... it was stupid.
She was good enough. She was pretty sure she was good enough. Now she just had to prove it.
"Beatrix," Chrysocolla said, and smiled small and sweet, "it's really good to meet you. You can sit down, if you want!"

"What the fuccccc....ohhhh my god Hello!" Smooth, nice save on her part. That was not something she had ever experienced in her life and she wasn't sure if it was something she quite liked either. Her hair was all over the place with her brush still mid-stroke through the tangled mess that she had decided, last minute, to try taming. It took her a moment to realize the senshi had spoken to her. "Uhhh yes I uh think I will." She stumbled over to the chair and sat down, her face still red with a mix of embarrassment and queasiness. After getting a bit more settled, she took a look around at the office at how picturesque it was. It almost felt like she had been brought into one of the backrooms. Definitely an office and not to be confused with someone's place or anything else, to be honest. Chrysocolla had a much less tattered uniform that really did look more like the other agents' attire. It had the same sort of military-like style with very minimal decorations and her hair was under control and tied back. That might be a good idea, she thought but wasn't really one who liked tying her hair back most days. Overall this probably was one of her worst first impressions to provide to someone, it hadn't helped that she was yeeted through space somehow. "I uh.. how did that happen? I didn't think there were teleporters and stuff here."

Beatrix really hadn't been exaggerating when she'd said she'd never had a mentor, apparently. Chrysocolla didn't wince outwardly, but inwardly... it made her more than a little mad. Not at poor Beatrix -- at whoever had recruited her and then decided they didn't need to help her at all.
That was how you got traitors! Not every time, of course. But lots of times. So often that Chrysocolla didn't complain to Hessonite about it, usually, but she still wanted to every time it happened. Couldn't people like that at least get turned into youma, so they wouldn't go running and bolster the cannon-fodder ranks of the enemy?
...Whatever. She needed to pay attention to Beatrix, not be busy thinking about some phantom General. "Because I'm an Eternal Senshi, meaning I'm the highest rank one of us can normally get," ignore the stupid Royals, maybe one day Chrysocolla might bear wings like that for the Negaverse, but until then, "I can summon people who are lower rank than I am to me. Like you." She nodded to punctuate her point.
"Since you didn't have a mentor, you probably have... a lot of questions, don't you? I need to get a general gauge of what you know, so ask me anything you want right now."

The mood had changed in the room, there was a bit more prickliness that Bea could tell was in the Eternal's eyes. Now was the time to ask questions and at least point out some stuff that was going on. It really did seem like there was probably a real lot she didn't know and hopefully, there would be some good answers to her questions. "I have a lot of things I don't know much about. I gather energy but I don't know what it's all for and I really don't know how everything happened and why I have some awesome rock and roll death metal magic. The teleport thing isn't something I've learned about and to be honest, I have really only met the non-magic agents and learned a lot about how to fight hand-to-hand without magic. I met some randomly bright bubble headed doofus who I really don't think is with us but I have no idea? Her name was Mneme and she seems kinda wishy-washy with stuff? I really don't know what makes us different other than how badly white looks on a person and that the brain cell bar is set really low from the only one I met. "She rubbed her arm a bit hoping that her frankness would be ok. "To be honest I really haven't met much of anyone outside of the fighting tourney I won right after being brought in. And the event of getting hired on or whatever I don't really remember at all."

"Mneme would have been from our enemies. They're usually called the White Moon or Order, but they're not really organized?" Chrysocolla wrinkled her nose, making probably more of a face than she thought she was making. "There's a lot of Senshi sort of like us on their side -- you can tell a Senshi is on our side, in the Negaverse, pretty easily. They'll have the long hair, black outfits, and they'll have the cracks in their head and chest." As she said her last sentence, she gestured vaguely at her own markings, black as void against her skin.
"A lot of people are going to tell you a lot of different things, and some of it's not going to make any sense, so you just kind of have to shrug them off. Basically, we're part of the Negaverse - that's what our side is called. We collect energy to maintain Metallia, who's where most of our power comes from -- she's sort of... this big, ancient force? She's not really a person, in the way that you or I are." She was simplifying some of it, but really, did Beatrix need to know about the amnesia and the forced recruitment and the murder straight away? Probably not.
"Senshi like us are inherently connected to something -- that's going to be where your specific, unique powers come from. I'm the Senshi of Moods, so my magic changes peoples' emotions." Chrysocolla's eyes were normally a pale silvery-blue, but just then a ripple of spring green and gold swept across them and settled, making the gem-like facets of her irises stand out from the rest of her face. "There's also the Officers, who don't usually get magic; they get actual weapons. So you've already met some of those. Metallia's basically where we get our magic and our power from. And then Order kind of has their own version of Officers -- they're called Knights? There's a whole bunch of ways to identify them, I can give you a chart if you want... it's good to know, but it's not really anything you need to know immediately." Sometimes she really did wish she'd been a Knight, first, and gained a true weapon for her time when she'd been recruited. But there wasn't any real point to wishing.
She did probably need to tell Beatrix about the whole reincarnation thing, but, honestly... why rush that? It still sounded fake to Chrysocolla, and she'd known about it for years. You're a reincarnated magical warrior from outer space, supernaturally bonded to the soul of your world? Who cared? Metallia was here, and real, and whatever her stupid world was doing it wasn't giving her any of her strength.
"Whatever your powers are... I can't tell you what your sphere is? But if you don't have anything to do in the next half hour, I could go find a Mauvian to tell you. They're aliens who look like cats. Whoever recruited you should've done it then, though, it was really irresponsible of them to not give you that information..." Chrysocolla shook her head in frustration. "It's not your fault, I'm not blaming you, but someone messed up."

Bea listened intently to the answers being given, the cracks were something that god awfully bright coloured girl had mentioned. "I see so the energy I gather is for a bigger purpose and not just like a thing to do to maintain my own power like directly. I do want to learn more so if it is ok I will take that chart to study in case I run across any of those knight people." She though long and hard about her powers, it really was like some sort of Iron Maiden eddie zombie thing in fog. She had wondered if there was more inside the fog she hadn't seen yet and was excited to find out. "I would love to find out the name of what I have, I know it looks like a skeleton coming out of the fog kinda like a monster in an old folk tale or a puppet at a big rock show. Also cat aliens sound weird, are they fluffy? Or like all squishy alien looking like in the movie Alien? I think I remember something about a cat in the past but everything was a no show so I just kinda knew what I learned from the fighting thing and then the draining I've been doing for years" She could tell that this was really now how things were supposed to go but at least Chrys had reached out to try and fix the mistakes, she really doubted the other side was more organized but to be honest with her questions being answered she was a little bit reassured that the effort she put into for draining was at least towards some end. "I'm kinda just glad you reached out because I really wasn't sure wtf was going on for the most part. I do wanna thank you if that's ok and I'm sorry how painfully slow I might sound to you since I really don't know much."

Inwardly, Chrysocolla thought, she desperately wanted to find out who Beatrix's General had been and then shake them by their stupid little lapels until they gave reasons for essentially sabotaging her. Externally she kept making exactly the same face she'd been making: mildly concerned and a little frustrated. She'd been told it made her look a little older, which probably helped, unless they'd been lying?
They probably hadn't been lying to her. This was pretty much her default expression, anyway, so it wouldn't change much even if it did.
"Mauvians.... they basically just look like cats with forehead stars." She paused. "And they can talk. But they're basically just magical talking cats. They're usually good with technology? But not always."
Chrysocolla smiled at Beatrix, something sweet and small. "I didn't have anything when I got recruited? And if I hadn't had a General pick me up --" well, if nothing else, Cinnabar had been there; and then she'd delivered herself to Schorl, but Beatrix really didn't need a full explanation with names of people she could never know -- "I would've been just as lost as you. There's a lot of people who end up just falling off the radar and joining our enemies because nobody ever reached out to them! I didn't want that to happen to you."

It was nice to see the General wasn't mad at her directly, it really hadn't been her fault everything had just kinda fallen through the cracks. "I think that sounds kinda cute, a cat on a keyboard. But yes I think I do sorta remember something about that. I am glad you're willing to help me, I've been a bit lost given everything in a while but I would like to keep on keeping on in the Negaverse and hopefully learn more about it if it's ok for me to come to you with Q's and stuff?"She smiled a bit back at the Chrysocolla. "I do really like the vibes here and stuff so I wanna do my best to try helping it all keep running smoothly too. Even if I don't have much experience in stuff out side of fighting. I hope that's ok with you too. Though I'm sure it comes over time and stuff like anything else."

"It does come over time," Chrysocolla nodded, "you're right. I promise things make more sense as you go." Usually. There was still the problem that people were people, and made stupid, weird choices, like turning traitor or alienating all of their allies. And who knew what Metallia specifically wanted, anyway?
Beatrix didn't need to worry about that. That was the point. If any of it was ever relevant, Chrysocolla would tell her, but why fill her mind with information that didn't matter to her right now?
"You can always ask me any questions. I've been doing this for a while." Long enough she'd been what felt like the only Negaverse Eternal in Destiny City, when she'd come back, with almost everyone else moved onto other cities or deserting or who-knew-what. Probably Intelligence knew. She wasn't in Intelligence and didn't particularly want to be. "Unless you have any more questions right now, we can go find the Mauvian for you?"Sara Draconia we can probably wrap up on your reply with a fade to black, ty for patience!

"I really appreciate that and yes I want to meet one of these cats." She would come to Chrsyocolla if she needed more answers but also it would probably look good if she could build some rapport with someone higher up to work her own way up in things. She just asked a few questions and listened to the responses as they waited for a Mauvian to show.
