Notes for playing

Primary tension: Law and Justice The Garrus Vakarian conflict between following the methods and bureaucracy of the law or righting wrongs through one’s own means. He tries to be Castis, but will struggle if Liam leaves
Marked by people-- relationships. Even the ones that don't work out because he pulls away mean something.

Character development refines his idea of justice and sustainability-- of what, for who? how far are we willing to pay for it? Possibly gets disillusioned and strikes out on his own to work on cold cases.
Broken by recognizing the moral gray a step before he starts down a vigilante path or anything, it's realizing that he has to decide something for himself, without Liam, and that it's going to be wrong no matter what.

DECISIVE Lark isn’t recklessly rash, but he doesn’t like spending time thinking about things over and over. He’s quick, decisive, and a little impatient. It doesn’t mean his mind can’t be changed-- on the contrary, he’ll easily change his mind if his twin or parents give him cause to, but once changed, he follows his new decision without waffling back and forth. Lark always wants to be doing something, whatever he’s decided.

SPONTANEOUS Lark’s curiosity is easily piqued, and once hooked, he likes to go do something about it, whatever that is. While playing games or reading superhero comics is usually a good guess, no one really knows what Lark is thinking up next. Lark is here to save the world, one cause at a time, although what cause isn’t always clear until he has the posters ready.

NOBLE Lark and his twin brother, Liam, have a strong innate sense and interest in justice and what is right and good. If he does something wrong, he’ll turn himself in to his Mum and accept whatever punishment he’s given. And if Liam is in trouble, Lark will take the punishment with him– they’re a team after all! Even when he teases his siblings he does so in good fun. They can hurt him, but he’ll always pull back. He and Liam have to protect the younger kids. Lark describes him and Liam as “Chaotic Lawful Good--never what you expect, but always legal, always good, and always heroic”.

CHARMING Lark the Flirt has no idea what flirting is yet, but you can be sure he will be as smooth and charming as he can. Even young Lark has mastered the art of the pleading puppy-dog face. He weaves flattery naturally, and complimentary things just seem to fall out of his mouth. He has a natural instinct to include people and likes to make sure people feel included, heard, and valued, even if it’s just a sly wink that makes them think they’re in on some secret.

COMPETITIVE Lark loves a good fair competition. He loves winning but isn’t a sore loser (assuming he thinks things were fair), and believes there’s nothing a good shounen style fight can’t solve.

🗯💥EARLY CHILDHOOD Liam and Lark, bursting onto the scene, can I get a Whoo-Whoop?!

Liam and Lark were a surprise–albeit a welcome one–to Aldrick Knapp and Elizabeth Spektor, new grads and sweethearts. They built a home on the old Spektor property outside of Sterling, Scotland. Their parents were married when the twins were 2, and 2 more siblings followed soon after–and Mum promised a 5th sometime!

As children Liam and Lark– or as Lark deemed their duo “Llamark” enjoyed playing superheroes with their parents’ friends’ children, many of whom were younger. If just hanging around at home though, Llamark can often be found making a mess or making a racket–err, painting posters or playing instruments.
