Solo or RP Format Counts as 5 RP growth Points Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7
Tendaji is a rich and diverse land filled with many different cultures and languages. While most travelers are fortunate enough to speak a common language, sometimes one might find themselves in a village where they can't communicate with the local population. How do you manage? Do you find someone to translate, or fumble along?
[ Tendaji has many different languages that the locals speak, and sometimes you might find yourself in a village or town where no one is speaking your language. Use this prompt to explore that miscommunication - maybe thinking about how hard it is to get your message across. Or connecting with a stranger who is helping you translate so you can make that purchase you need. What happens when everything is lost in translation? ]

Nesirah fumbled with her bag, trying her best to look like she had the confidence she didn’t actually possess. Her attempts to spread the word of Bergchi had flopped lately and she was feeling a little defeated. Surely something had to go easier for her this week, right?
She stepped along the cobbled path in Tale and wiped her brow. It was just so hot. How did anyone live like this? She looked back and forth, trying to find someplace to cool down and saw a small pond tucked away between a grouping of smaller trees. That would work she supposed.

Tyyn rubbed her hands together, her eyes showing some kind of fierce determination that might strike a passerby as odd. What was she up to you may ask? Well, obviously it was the perfect summer day for a dip, and that meant not only Tyyn showing off her own body, but the potential to spot other bodies. And boy was that exciting stuff.
Tyyn loved all types, so which ones she would come across wasn’t an issue. Let it be a man or a woman, maybe even a kahikinan, whatever. She was definitely one to appreciate window shopping.
She reached the small pond that was popular around her home village and immediately started stripping her clothes.

Nesirah had just reached the pond and meekly took a look around. There wasn’t anyone there yet, though she wasn’t sure that wouldn’t change soon. She better be quick. She ducked behind a low thick bush and as quietly as she could stripped off her thick Zenan dress and her robes. She left only her underclothes on, a knee length bloomer and a form fitting shirt. It was near scandalous for her to be out like this, but the heat… she was sure Bergchi would forgive her.
She toed out from behind the bushes and slowly lowered herself into the cool pond water, though before she could really get in beyond her ankles, she jumped back in fright. There was someone else with her. And they… well… weren’t wearing any clothes. Nesirah’s blush bloomed on her face faster than the sharp glow of a hearth fire starting and she nearly gasped.

Tyyn couldn’t help but be just a little bummed that there wasn’t anyone around by the time she got to the pond, but hey, she was sure there would be sightseeing later in her program.
She stretched out, her muscles stretching and pulling under the skin as her nearly nude body soaked in the sunshine. It was a good feeling. Before she could splash into the water she noticed something scurrying out of the bushes. It was a little earthling girl… shifter…? No, dark hair… hybrid?
She called out her hello’s, her grin spread wide. Summertime fun, it was all in good spirits. “Hey ho, how’s it going?” She waded into the water, closing the distance from the girl to herself.

She felt like she could just jump out of her skin as the woman approached her. “Um… hello?” She crossed her arms over her chest. She didn’t know why, but the other woman being so… confident had her feeling like she was the one naked.
“It’s nice to meet you, are you enjoying your day?” She asked the woman in broken and obviously bad Talean. She had been trying to pick up the other languages in Tendaji to avoid any barriers and to establish a voice around the world for her goddess.

Tyyn smirked at the girl’s obviously flustered face and opened her arms wide in response. “That’s probably the worst translation I’ve heard in my life. But it’s alright, I can tell you’re new here. What’cher name kid?” She asked the scared little bunny.
“Mine’s Tyyn.” She threw an arm around Nesirah and started coaxing her into the water. “You’re not going to get very relaxed if you’re only soaking your ankles. Aren’t you… well… modest?” She asked the girl, trying to piece together the puzzle.

Nesirah felt the blush on her cheeks grow down her neck and the heat raise in her entire body when Tyyn picked fun at her and touched Nesirah. It was a lot. She was a lot.
“I… well… I’m Nesirah.” She started. She looked down at her bloomers and back to Tyyn. “I think it’s appropriate around strangers, don’t you?” She asked pointedly. The stark contrast between Tyyn and Nesirah was quite obvious.

Tyyn looked down at her own self and bellowed out a laugh. “Fair enough, to each their own, but personally you have to learn to love the skin you’re in, right?” She offered her own perspective to the younger girl. If anything maybe the youngin’ would learn a thing or two about confidence.
“There’s more to life than what others think of you, yeah?” Tyyn responded in Talean.

Nesirah tried to piece together what it was that Tyyn had said, but the words were lost on her. She knew some Talean, but not that much apparently.
She knew she recognized ‘others’ and ‘think’ at least. “It’s not for others.” She responded, assuming that Tyyn was talking about her clothing style. “I do it all for the Goddess of the Mountain.” Nesirah crossed her arms over her chest, her mouth already whispering the Zenan prayer that was said by so many of her religion. It was second nature for it to just come out when speaking of Bergchi directly.

There it was. The final piece of the puzzle. Or so Tyyn liked to think she had cracked the code on Nesirah.
“Goddess of the Mountain aye?” She questioned. So she was a religious zealot, living her life by the good books and all that. Goddess of the mountain was a new one for a shifter though. She squinted her eyes and took a good look at the girl, trying to see more to her and she snapped her fingers. “Oh so you’re from home?” Tyyn questioned in what broken Zenan she knew.
She had to admit, she had never picked it up like her other siblings had, but to be fair, she hadn’t ever moved to Zena. Tyyn had stayed put where it was warm when her parents chose to go back to the cold and had offered to let her stay with her grandparents for a while.

Nesirah gasped at Tyyn speaking Zenan. “Home? Your Zenan?” She asked Tyyn back in her native tongue. “You don’t look it.” She blurted out before clapping her hands onto her mouth. She should think before she speaks more. She can’t be so blunt.
What if she had offended Tyyn? She shook her head and immediately apologized. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean anything by it. I see now your crystals. I’m just surprised is all.” She rambled on in Zenan.

”Look, I never did have an affinity for speaking Zenan. I maybe caught every fifth word you said. My mother is Zenan. I never went that far north.” Tyyn responded to Nesirah. She knew she was apologizing, knew it was for her looks and probably her assumption that she couldn’t possibly know the ice earthlings’ language, but she didn’t really care that the girl was maybe somewhat rude. It was candid and she agreed with being truthful about things.
She nodded her head at the girl’s gall to speak her mind. “You got spunk when you put your mind to it. I like it,” she lowered herself into the water finally, letting herself rest in the pond on the hot day. “If you want to cover yourself to the gills for your Goddess, that’s your call. I’m not here to stop you. But I do think maybe you should think it over some, really think on why you don’t want to show some skin. I don’t think Bergchi ever thought that her disciples would be in blazing hot weather either ya know.” She pointed out. Tyyn didn’t usually have anything wise others could learn from, but sometimes she thought maybe she had a point.

Nesirah let Tyyn’s arms finally release her and watched the woman sink into the water before she herself sunk down into the water; though she also inched herself further from Tyyn and out of her grasp.
“Still, the sentiment stands. I’m sorry for assuming things.” She offered. “You’re probably the first person I’ve met since being in Tale that knew any Zenan though. It feels nice to flex my tongue after being away so long.” She smiled to Tyyn and let herself float in the cool water.
She would leave soon, she didn’t want to linger too long, but she could afford just a few minutes to cool down some.

”Yeah, not too many people wanted to trade the icy cold mountain air for the blazingly dry heat here, but here I am and here you are.” She leaned her head back, letting the water wet her hair in its entirety.
“Let’s just enjoy the water, yeah? Maybe you can help me practice my rusty Zenan.” Tyyn laughed out, her eyes closing the bright sun out.
She would probably spend the rest of the day in the pond but at least Nesirah was an interesting addition to her day.
